Based on what I have read so far, did the RV for Prestige quattro go up 2%? It appears that the MF for 36/15K is still 0.00079 but the RV went up to 54% from 52%?
If not, at what are the September RV and MF for a Prestige quattro @ 36/15K? Thanks.

    .00079 and 52% for 36/15. 54% for 36/12

Obviously, you don't want to do a 48 month lease with Audi.

    Hi Mitchell,

I have been lurking here for a while and finally got to see that dealer and got a lease quote on an A4. I happen to think these leasing numbers are ridiculously high so I figured I would run it by you to see what my lease should be vs their quote.

    Configuration:

    2017 A4 Prestige
    Quattro
    Moonlight Blue
    Driver Assistance Package
    MSRP: $ 50,375
    Dealer Price: $ 48,360
    Long Island, NY

The lease pricing I was given for 15k miles and $2k down is as follows:

"The following 3 deals will all be 15K miles per year. The "Due at signing" does not include DMV (estimated 175.00)

    36 mos $1988.73 / 789.73 per month
    39 mos $1999.03 / 762.03 per month
    42 mos $1999.48 / 738.48 per month "

    -------------

When I told him I thought the price was high and asked for the MF and RV and this is what I got back:

"The money factor & residual are dictated to us from Audi--on 36 mos the residual is 51%, on 39 mos it's 49% & on 42mos it's 47%. The Money factor is .00106 The prestige has the lowest residual & you are leasing with 15k -these factors drive up your cost. What is it about the prestige you want?"

    ------

What do you think a fair lease price would be for me to go back to him with?

    Thanks so much!

.00079 and 52% for 36/15. Yes, prestige trim has the lowest residual. Better to get a premium plus and option it up - 56% for 36/15.

.00099 is the base MF for 39 or 42 month terms.

Hello. Can I get the MF and RV for a Premium Plus Quattro? 42/12 in Colorado. I would be adding Audi Care...I think there may be an uplift in RV for this? Thank you

Hi. I've tried to find the answer in this thread but ended up a bit confused. :'(

Anyhow, looking for MF and RV for A4 Prestige Quattro 36 mo / 10K. Would consider 42 or 48 mo, but I gather that's less attractive, correct?

If it matters what state I'm in... Massachusetts.

    Thanks!

By the way, I just got quoted a MF of .00119 from the dealer. Residual seems to agree with yours. Do they mark the MF up?

Also, any idea what the "Acquisition Fee" might be? Distinct from the Document and Registration Fees? Is that a cap cost reduction?

    Thanks much for your help!

    Hi,

Thanks, in advance for the help.

I'm looking at a 2017 Audi A4 Quattro, Premium Plus (Moonglight Blue w/ Nougat Brown).
I'm getting an offer that sounds too high to me, was wondering if I could get an accurate counter on the payments based on these terms, and if the selling price is competitive .

    MSRP: $49,635
    Selling Price: $46,178

    Money Factor: 0.00079
    Residual Value: 59%
Lease: 36 months, 10,000 miles per year.

Trade in Value: $12,000 for 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo - loaded, 41k miles, great shape and has all the options but has been in accident w/ $12k in repairs(Kelley Blue Book puts trade in values between $12-14k).

Payoff on Trade in Vehicle Loan: $9,300

    Doc Fee $115
    Other Fees $330

    Lease Payment offers:
(All at 36 mo's, and all include sales tax)
    1 - $2k down, $560.90 per month
    2 - $3k down, $533.76 per month
    3 - $4k down, $506.61 per month

Now, I do want to trade in the car because due to the accident history, it will be a pain for me to sell, but I don't want to put more than $2k down in addition to that and would rather put nothing down besides my trade in. These seem very high to me, when I use the Edmunds lease calculator, I'm getting low $500's with the trade in equity only and no other down payment. Am I missing something or doing the calcs wrong?

Oh, and the sale will be in Portland, OR, but since I live in Washington, I will have to pay the tax since I'll register it there.

So how far off am I from what I should be paying?
  • nlclhc1nlclhc1 Member Posts: 76
In general, it is not a good idea to put any money down, or a trade-in into a lease, if totaled you will loose all, ask the dealer to cut a check for you for the value of your Sonata.

Hi there, hoping for some help. Looked at an 2017 A4 premium plus AWD with technology package and MSRP OF $47,900. Im upside down in my current lease which they agreed to cut a check to get out of for $2900. While I know this raises the price, the number they quoted me for 36/12k seemed crazy high at $859/mo

Assuming no money down and 7% IN sales tax, does this seem to add up? Even with the added $2900 it seems very high. Thanks!

Yes, dealer is allowed to mark up the MF for extra profit.

Acquisition fee is imposed by the bank - cannot be waived or negotiated.

There are two transactions here - the lease and the trade.

Using your prices, as is, I get a payment of $581/mo assuming 9.8% sales tax, with $0 down. Now, $0 down is not the same as $0 out of pocket - you will have to pay the first payment, dealer fees, acquisition fee and DMV costs when you sign the contract. If you add them into the selling price, your lease payment goes up (about $28/mo before tax for every $1000 you add in).

I would suggest you get a good sense of what your trade in is worth - there is a great forum here called "Real World Trade in Values" with some experts on-hand to help. Knowing if you have positive or negative equity in your car will help you make the best deal.

If you have any positive equity, use it to pay those up front costs I mentioned, but anything beyond that, get a check from the dealer.

If you have negative equity, then you'll have to decide if you want to add that amount to the selling price or cover that cost out of pocket.

Don't put money down on a lease - as noted, you will lose that money if the car is stolen or totaled.

My guess is that the $2900 is being added into your lease payment - that's about $80-85/mo, before tax.

And, get the adjusted cap cost - this is the selling price plus any taxes and fees you are not paying up front.

    .00079 and 58% for 36/12.

Look at the last page or so of posts, to see what others are paying.

    Michaell,

Thanks so much! You are awesome. This forum has been incredibly useful.
If may follow up with a question - I'm somewhat new to Washington State, but it was my understanding that the sales tax rate here is 8.25% where I live in Vancouver, WA. Am I wrong with regards to a different tax rate is higher on autos or leases? If I am correct, any chance I could get a figure on monthly payment with 8.25% tax rate?

And thanks for the tip on getting the dealer to cut me a check. I didn't realize you could do that! And I will be sure to check the real world trade in values forum

I guess most of the inquires I get are from the Seattle area, where the sales tax is higher. $573/mo with 8.25% tax rate.

Hi, I'm pricing out a 2017 A4 Quattro Prem Plus with Tech and Sport packages, MSRP $49k, negotiated 6% off down to $45,590. What's a reasonable target in terms of MF, residual and monthly payment for this build for a 12k/36mo lease with 2000$ out of pocket? I live in Louisiana.
    Thanks for your help!

There are two transactions here - the lease and the trade.

Using your prices, as is, I get a payment of $581/mo assuming 9.8% sales tax, with $0 down. Now, $0 down is not the same as $0 out of pocket - you will have to pay the first payment, dealer fees, acquisition fee and DMV costs when you sign the contract. If you add them into the selling price, your lease payment goes up (about $28/mo before tax for every $1000 you add in).

WA taxes the monthly payment, so just do the multiplication.
I was under the impression that sales tax there was in the 9%-10% range, though

    Thanks!

    .00079 MF and 55% residual

    42 months isn't bad
    .00099 MF and 51% residual

But, Premium Plus model residuals are 4% higher.
Although, interestingly, by my calculation the 42 month payment is roughly $80 HIGHER than the 36-month lease.
    Then, you did it wrong.

Did you change the term to 42 months, when entering the numbers?
Indeed, that's exactly what I failed to do. :(
Don't feel bad.. I do it all the time. ;)

    $519/mo.+tax (with acq.fee rolled in)
    Due at signing:
    1st payment
    DMV fees

Don't offer to give a big round number upfront. It just lets them fill that number with garbage fees.
Tell them you don't want to make any CAP cost reduction and you want the acquisition fee rolled in.
Then, when you get the "Due at Signing" number, they should be able to break it down and tell you exactly how they got that number.

So I think I just made an amazing deal, but want to ask the experts here what they think... going to lease a factory order, 2017 A4 Prestige FWD, Driver assistance package, cold weather package, warm weather package, rear airbags, gray oak inlay, locking in .00034 MF and 54% residual. MSRP is $51,875, deal price (cap cost) is $46,000, plus regular drive-offs (acquisition fee, license, $80 doc fee) minus any Audi incentives and bonus cash when the car arrives in December. Sound good? That's about 11% off MSRP.

Thanks for the info and the tips! I sent these terms to the dealer and they agreed to honor them. I'm putting an order on the car and it should arrive in 90 days or so. They asked for a $1000 refundable deposit to do that.

They did say that the MF and res could change slightly by the time the car is here, but I figured if they change them drastically, I'll just pass on the deal and get my deposit back.

    Thanks again for helping out!

Thanks for all the great info in this forum! Could you please review the following lease offer? I'm in San Francisco, CA.

quattro Premium Plus w/ Tech Package, Cold Weather, paint
    MSRP: 48,475
    Agreed-upon Price: 44,000 (9.2% discount!)
    $0 down
    Capitalize the $795 acquisition fee
Drive-off: ~$530 in fees plus 1st month payment
    Lease: 36/10

I was offered $537/mo before taxes ($584/mo after taxes).

Unfortunately do not have the Adjusted Cap Cost nor MF being used for the lease calc. I assume there might be some markup of the Adjusted Cap Cost and/or MF since there's a pretty big discount off the MSRP? That being said, the lease quote didn't feel too bad - do you agree?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. As a follow up question - given the "better than expected" 9% discount off of MSRP, I wouldn't be surprised if they marked up the MF and/or Adj Cap Cost somewhat to offset that. However, wouldn't this be fair since a 6% discount off MSRP is considered a good deal? In terms of the monthly cost vs the MSRP, any thoughts on whether this feels like a pretty good deal?

Thanks. I've decided to pay the acq fee upfront so drive-offs are now 1,375 plus first month payment. Dealer has taken the monthly down to $480/mo plus tax, still with 0 down. This payment seems about right with the base MF and Adj Cap Cost equal to selling price, and all the other info I provided before. Would you agree the math looks pretty good here now? If so, based on 9% off sticker and the right MF/Cap Costs, starts to feel like a good deal.

Since I can't re-create the number, I must have entered a typo on the spreadsheet.

    $49K MSRP
    $46,385 CAP cost (selling price + $795 acq.fee)
    .00079 MF
    58% residual
    $499.03 monthly depreciation
    $59.10 monthly finance
    $558.13 payment

    Sorry.

No worries! Thanks for helping out! I'm going to shop around other dealers in the area and see if they would come down a little more on the MSRP.

I get $388/mo including tax with those prices.

    .00034 and 57% for 36/12 with AudiCare.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost and MF with the dealer.

Do you have the MF and residual for the newly announced manual version? Premium and quattro. With and without Audicare would be great.

Transmission does not affect the numbers.

    What term and mileage?
