My calculations are different from the online calculators. Could someone please check my math? I am in NJ MSRP 53625 Selling price/cap cost 49000 Residual 0.52 Money factor 0.00071 Term 36 Doc 299 Tire tax 7.5 Bank fee 795 NJ Tax 7% NJ Lux Tax .4% Tire Tax 7.5 So I get a depreciation cost of 586.53. Lease interest comes out to 55.37. NJ tax 44.93. Lux tax is 5.44. I am getting 692.60. Is this correct?
That's probably close, though NJ taxes the sum of the payments and the amount would be added to your cap cost, thus subjecting it to the rent charge, as well. I get the same depreciation amount, but my monthly rent charge is $54.59.
I think I did the tax math incorrectly. To get the rent charge I got, I added the fees to the cap cost. Your rent charge was based on the cap cost only. I thought we should be adding the fees to the cap cost? But to get the real rent charge, doesn't tax have to be added so that the calculation would be (cap cost + fees + residual cost + taxes)* money factor? I guess what I really need is a break down of how the math is done so I know I am doing the correct steps. It isn't 100% clear to me when the tax is calculated and when it is added to get the rent charge.
The cap cost may already include the fees and taxes, so no need to add it in again. Dealer should be able to give you the number.
I know they can give me the number. I just wanted to be as prepared as I could and also learn how the payment is calculated. As for the numbers, I know for a fact that the fees were not in the cap cost. Was my math correct in how the taxes and rent charge is calculated?

I calculated the tax by taking the selling price and adding the fees and then multiplying by 7%. I then divided it by 36. I didn't use the cap cost since I believe in NJ, tax is payed on the price before any rebates/incentives.

I'm not 100% certain that is correct. I know that NJ calculates tax on the sum of the payments (depreciation and rent charge combined), not the entire selling price.

    Example - if the payment is $500 for 36 months, then the tax is (500 * 36) * .07, or $1260.

oh ok. What I don't get is how can you get the rent charge before calculating the tax since the tax will affect the monthly rent charge?

You calculate the payment without the tax, but with the rent charge. Then you add the tax amount to the cap cost, then recalculate the payment, subjecting the tax amount to the rent charge.

    Hello,

Can somebody calculate my lease payments in California for 12k/36months and 12k/42 months for A4 Quattro Prestige.

    MSRP: 55,545
Negotiated price: 48,750 (I believe this includes loyalty).

    Thank you!

    Thank you!

    .00061 MF and 53% residual 36/12
    .00081 MF and 49% residual 42/12

Assuming all other costs are paid upfront:
    36/12: $584/mo+tax
    42/12: $523/mo+tax

Premium Plus trim residuals are 4% higher, and would result in a much lower payment, all else being equal.

    FWD or Quattro?

What is the MSRP? What is the adjusted cap cost? $1000 drive off isn't enough to cover all the up front costs.

    Michaell,

Can you give me the lease rates for a 2017 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Premium Plus, 36 months, 10k miles a year in Cleveland Ohio? One-pay as well.

My FIL is currently negotiating on one, and I'm trying to help him with the numbers. The dealer is also saying that the $1000 dealer cash doesn't exist, which does not seem right, either.

    Appreciate the help.

    MF is marked up.

And, we don't recommend making a cap reduction; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

You pay for 100% of the tint, which adds $14/mo to the payment.

Does not look like that great of a deal.

    Complimentary first payment, as well.

Tell them the $1000 marketing allowance is program A16UMK19 - see how they respond to that.

    Hi Michaell,

Could you please provide lease residual and MF on P/P+ A4 36 mos @ 7500 miles/10,000 miles? I'm in Indianapolis, IN. Because there aren't a lot of dealerships in the area, I'm thinking of shopping Chicago and Cincinnati, so those would help as well. Is this even a good idea? Thanks for all your help.

    I'll assume Quattro ...

    .00061 and 59% / 58% for both trims.

$1000 marketing allowance, complimentary first payment.

I wish I had this info. I was denied the allowance because it was a "dealer" incentive. I was shown the program and the allowance was not labeled for a lease so they said it meant we as the customer did not receive it. Ugh this sucks. I ended up paying $1k more than I should have. Oh well. Can't do anything about it now.

For the future, what does that code mean?

Tell them the $1000 marketing allowance is program A16UMK19 - see how they respond to that.

It's the internal reference number for the program. Not something that exists every month, however. And, the reference number could change if they decide to offer it again, down the road.

The incentive is there, and the dealer gets it. You have to take that into account when you negotiate the sale price.

What trim level - Premium, Premium Plus or Prestige?

In general, 6% off sticker price is a good discount for Audi, before any incentives.

    .00081 and 54% for 42/10.

With your MSRP and selling price, I get $519/mo before tax.

Your selling price is about 4.5% off sticker, when you back out the $1000. Might be another $500-750 you could negotiate.

Only thing you should pay up front are the first payment and DMV costs -- add everything else to the lease payment.

For example, if you pay the tax up front and the car gets totaled, you think the state will refund the tax you paid for usage you didn't have? Hardly.

    Looking for in CA.

    2017 A4 Premium - FWD
    2017 A4 Premium Plus - FWD

    36Month / 10K Miles
    36Month / 12k Miles

Would love to hear some specific negotiated deals(X% off MSRP, X amount down at signing, etc...) for monthly payment!

Also, first time getting an Audi and anyone recommend the ultra version (190 horsepower and 236 lb-ft) over the standard 252HP version? Is the fuel economy even worth it since it's quite a big decrease in HP?

    .00015 and 56% or 55%.

6% off sticker is a good starting point.

I'd suggest you drive both and see which one you prefer.

.00060 discount for one-pay, but Audi imposes a minimum MF of .00005, so that's what would be used in this case.

What's the lowest possible drive off that I should be seeking? (with zero down, zero cap reduction)

I've read here that the only things you should be paying for upfront is the first month's payment and DMV fees, but also that $1000 isn't enough to cover all fees.

Taking into account the current incentive that covers first month payment, how much can be expected for DMV fees? (I live in Los Angeles) .. Should there be any other fees that add to total drive off?
