About $700 over dealer invoice.
Spoiler is Std. on SE.
but inside it definitely look cheap. The silverish plastic will most likely worn off in a couple of years.
How likely "The silverish plastic" will worn off? Can anyone from Toyota cares to reassure potential Camry buyers that Toyota stands for quality/durability and those "The silverish plastic" will NOT worn off?
Thanks.
Price $27,100. Plus all tax, lic and other misc charges. No trade-in. I just wanted to post the price I paid so other buyers can have a reference point - posts of other Camry prices would be helpful for future buyers.
Also, I almost bought Toyota extended warranty (7yr/100k mile, Gold package) for $1100. I found that you can get the warranty later and for a much better price. Check priuschat.com and search for "extended warranty" for some suggestions.
I had been stalking the Camry for about six months since I learned about the new model being released. I'm glad I waited. Its a great car so far.
It pays to shop around.
My Camry is quiet up to 75 mph (fastest I've taken it so far), and I have to be careful as I tend to drive 5 mph faster in town now because it is so quiet.
Our remote doesn't operate the power windows.
In the beginning I didn't get used to the new 3.5L V6 engine whinny sound, and I do notice the wind noise over 70 mph on the highway, but it's not as loud as Accord. My 07 Camry has 800 miles and now becomes smoother, quieter, more sensitive to the acceleration. The new Camry is not a boring car to me anymore and I am really glad I bought this car.
I live in Inland Empire.
What thoughts are there as to how good this price is?
I've only visited one dealer. I don't want to go to another as I feel the whole process of buying a car is to stressful for me.
with tax & License?
Shouldn't be stressful unless you make it so.
Decide what make, model and options: email or fax internet sales Mgrs. at area dealerships; decide which deal you want, let them know by email or phone; go to the dealership and be gone with the vehicle in 15-30 minutes.
S/B from $300-800 over dealer invoice.
Per above comment, yes, communicating with the Internet Sales Dept is generally an easier way of handling often pushy sales people. At some point, they'll want to talk to you on the telephone, but that's an easier situation to control than in a dealer's showroom. Good luck.
6. Posts about dealers
When posting about your experience with a dealership, you may post ONLY the dealership name, city, and state. You may not post a salesperson's name, phone numbers, email addresses, links to dealer web sites, etc.
Sorry, but I had to remove a post.
Can't give you the email address or name but you can find it with a search engine on the web.
Had my previous reply removed for a rules violation. Poor babies.
I really like the look of the SE, if not for the cheap-looking black honeycomb material in the front, which bugs me a lot. I've yet to even see an SE on any lot, would also be nice to test out the different sport suspension in it. Thus my reason for probably going with the V6 LE.
You'll luv it.
I too, would like to know how the SE suspension feels in comparison to the LE/XLE. Anyone out there driven both?
thanks
However...the SE is entirely different with the brace behind the rear seat. I took a V6 SE onto a decending cloverleaf entrance to an Intersate entering at ~ 50 mph and accelerated all the way through exiting at ~70 mph. It was impressive.
thanks for all the input.
I want to trade my Lemon '03 Accord V6 for either a white SE or LE sunroof, JBL, & alloys. After 4 years, I am done with the nausiating rough ride, squeaks, rattles, & transmission replacements.
Here is my opinion - -
Likes:
1. Smooth, quiet ride (did not observe wind noise)
2. Exterior styling
3. Fit & finish flawless
4. MSRP now competitive w/Honda Accord
Dislikes:
1. Plasmacluster controls difficult to see in daylight (salesperson had a hard time turning the AC on)
2. Dark interior only available on the SE. Light grey & light tan upholstery don't match the silver dash well.
3. Black numbers on radio LCD look cheap.
4. Auto trans seemed "confused" on a few downshifts.
5. Some idling roughness when in park (I guess all 4cyl engines exhibit this characteristic, I usually buy V6's).
Overall, I think the '07 is a major improvement over the '06 model. This car will definitely steal more sales from Honda Accord. Some day Honda will wise up & learn the market like Toyota - build cars for everyone.
My local dealer has 5-07'Camry's for about 2 weeks now. The salesperson said they are discounting quite a bit right now. I am waiting to drive the SE before making a final decision.
The price will probably be better in late May - specifically Memorial Day Weekend. Just let the inventory build up a bit, and the hype to die down a bit. Of course, if you need a vehicle today, the price seens pretty good. I just got a quote on a 2006 Accord LX sedan 4 with auto for $19,400 plus TTL, which is too high.
I live in the central plains.. we have some snow days in the winter, but not many. And of course we have some rain all year round too.
I wouldn't doubt you could get an OTD price close to the before ttl price you just posted.
Just contact the internet department of Toyota dealers around so cal and I bet you'll save at least $1500.00.
I bet you tried Crown Toyota or San Bernardino. I never got any decent prices from them and got the old I'll match other dealers from Crown to get you at their dealership, but they really won't match.
Try Orange County or San Gabriel Valley areas on the internet. I have had some good luck with Claremont and Longo.
Also like tinatina mentioned, let the inventory build up first. They have only been out for 2-3 weeks or so. I don't think I've even seen a commercial for them except for the super bowl one.
Use the internet for quotes if you really want to avoid the stress.

Someone said there is information somewhere about how this private company got involved as some kind of "middleman" in Toyota sales and adds alot of overpriced junk that's allowed to be printed on the MSRP stickers rather than an addendum if you buy in that Southeastern region.
Look at KBB.com and you can see that the exact same port installed packages have much higher list prices in the Southeast region compared to anywhere else. Seems like a racket.

Jim Moran was an auto dealer in chicago I believe. When toyota first wanted to 'go national' he told them that he personally would put them in the Southeast. But in return he would have the exclusive distributorship for all Toyota's in the region..... if he performed as promised.
He has exceeded their expectations. He wasa just inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame last year. Every dealership must buy it's Toyota's from his company, SET.
Where does his profit come from? He's not in it for charity.. it's a for-profit business.
The average age of a Toyota Camry owner is 52
The overall average age of a Buick owner is 62
Is the Toyota Camry becoming a car for seniors?
Here is an interesting article below:

However, the same car configured on Toyota's website is $23,430 with destination.
By the way, I am located in the NE and not SET.
