MF is marked up for extra dealer profit.

What does the "net cost" number represent?

The number you need from them is the "Adjusted Cap Cost"; the net cost may be the same thing, but it would be good to confirm.

Thank you. Are these for leasing through Chrysler Financial? Some of the dealers I contacted gave me the quotes with higher MF and told me that it was from Ally Bank, which give the lowest payment. Is that typical for Chrysler? I leased cars before, but this is my first time dealing with Chrysler, so any information is greatly appreciated.

The only numbers we have are from Chrysler Financial.

Ally and US Bank have different numbers, but large incentives, which tend to result in a lower payment.

Do you have details on the current incentive code NECHU (northeast conquest bonus cash)?  All info I can find says owning any non FCA vehicle qualifies, but dealer says it only applies to minivans.  Just want to double check. Thanks

    Hello Everyone,

i am currently in the process of gathering information to lease a new vehicle since my current lease is about to end in 10/31/17. I have many questions regarding the lease process and two vehicles I am comparing for my new lease. I hope you can provide some guidance and wisdom to make a good deal.

    • Is it good or bad for me to change to a new lease within the last 60 days of my current lease? Does it affect my credit or anything else?

    • What should I be aware of when returning the vehicle at the end or during the course of the lease?

    • I currently have a 2014 Hyundai SantaFe Sport and I am deciding between the Chrysler Pacifica Touring L-Plus or Limited and the Kia Sedona EX. Which one would be a better choice between Pacifica and Sedona?

    • What is the best way to know how much I can bring down the value of the vehicle from the MSRP so I do not leave money on the table?

    • When negotiating the lease should I negotiate the MSRP or the monthly payments?

    • Lastly, what is the current  MF and residual % for the 2017 Pacifica Touring-L Plus and Limited and Kia Sedona EX and SX-L (36 months, 12k, in Florida)?

    1. Any remaining lease payments will likely be added into the new lease deal. Won't affect credit.
    2. If you return the lease, you'll likely be asked to have the vehicle inspected. If you trade it in, it will be evaluated as any trade in would
    3. No opinion on which is better. Test drive them both and see if you have a preference for one over the other.
    4. Negotiate your best selling price, not the monthly payment.
    5. Pacifica Touring-L + - .00030 and 47%

Dear Michaell - as always, big thanks - this information is extremely helpful. Am living in SF Bay Area and looking for August MF and residual % for both the Pacifica Limited, and Pacifica Hybrid Platinum trims.

    I would be looking for #'s for a 12K miles/year, 36 months lease.

Also - practical question - you mention above that you should negotiate best selling price, not monthly payment. When leasing in the past, I've generally told the dealer I'm looking for the monthly payment assuming $0 down/$0 driveoff (I'd prefer to just roll everything into the lease payment for simplicity) - and then work through the numbers all at the same time (telling them what I assume about MF and residuals). As part of this, I always have them show me their #'s/what they assume about selling price...

I guess I'm just wondering from a process point of view if you spend a lot of time negotiating selling price and then, at the very end, tell the dealer you want to lease - whether that tends to get them very angry... Or do they not care, given that MF and residuals are pretty much standard...

One last question (apologies if it doesn't belong here). Do you know if Chrysler offers excess wear and tear programs as an option when leasing? I have two small kids and from past history, I think it may be a good idea :-)

REALLY appreciate it - couldn't imagine leasing without this forum!

Limited: .00036 MF and 49% residual
Hybrid Plat: Standard (.00213) MF and 56% residual

You can do it, either way. But, if you don't know the selling price, money factor and residuals upfront, then how do you know what monthly price to negotiate for? Or, whether the dealer has room to give?

I'm sure all dealers offer an excess wear and tear plan for their leases.

Hi guys, we are considering leasing the 2017 Pacifica Limited. This is my first lease so I'm not sure if we are getting a good deal and could really use your help.

I am in the Chicago area. The dealership we went to yesterday did not have the car we wanted but said they could get it from a local dealership. The MSRP is 48,780. We got them down to 41k plus tax but this includes EP pricing (my husband has family that works for Chrysler), and also what they said was an affiliate discount for my husband's company. They said for a 3 year lease with 10k miles/year that if we put 3k down the payments would be $595/a month. I thought this sounded kind of high so I asked for the money factor and residual and was told it was .00120 and 48%.

    1. Is the total price for the van they are quoting good? I don't want to get greedy but I thought we would get employee pricing and then could put the other incentives on top of it like sam's/costco/etc. but they didn't do that. (Maybe because they already gave us better discounts?). But I thought people were getting 8-10k off MSRP without these kind of discounts.

    2. How do the lease numbers look? Based on other comments I have seen, I thought the MF was closer to .00036 right now. We have great credit. This rate should be standard with all dealerships right?

    3. Do you suggest me just talking to the dealership that has the car for a better deal? I wouldn't think to do this except that I feel like the dealership I went to inflated the MF.

    Thanks in advance!

.00036 and 50% for 36/10. Could be a 3rd party bank the dealer is quoting you - those numbers often come with big incentives. And, we don't have them to compare against.

Negotiate with multiple dealers to get your best price; we don't track pricing, so don't really know how low the number could get.

If you trade it in, it will be evaluated as any trade in would 3. No opinion on which is better. Test drive them both and see if you have a preference for one over the other. 4. Negotiate your best selling price, not the monthly payment. 5. Pacifica Touring-L + - .00030 and 47% Post your Sedona question in the Sedona thread.
Hello Michaell, I was reviewing your answers again and noticed the following question from my original post was not answered:

    • what is the best way to know how much I can bring down the vehicle's MSRP so I do not leave money on the table?

Could you provide some advice regarding this?

Also, is the MF a fixed number or could it vary depending on the credit score and history of an individual?

We don't track selling prices. You can use the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page to get guidance from Edmunds.
The money factors we quote are for top tier credit. As the tiers go down, the money factor goes up, substantially. Also, the dealer can markup the base money factor for extra profit.

I have couple of questions regarding the tier.

    • What credit score do one needs to have to qualify for the top tier?

    • How many tier levels there are?

    • Could you provide the MF for the different tier levels?

    • Is the top tier MF supposed to be the same across the board in all dealers?

Hello, I have a question regarding the lease negotiation process. It is typically better to wait right now until the 2018 Pacifica comes out in order to negotiate a better deal on the 2017 model?

We don't have scores associated with the tiers.

    Tier 2 adds .00021
    Tier 3 adds .00060
    Tier 4 adds .00159
    Tier 5 adds .00350

Yes, top tier should be consistent across all dealers. Dealer can mark up the MF by .00042 for extra profit.
