Well for that money it would literally have to be indistinguishable from brand new, under a microscope. If it's driven daily, then half that would be plenty.
Yeah, normal properly maintained lowish mileage ones are usually in the mid teens. Of course, you can get a beater for 5K, but I wouldn't recommend it. However, these are known to be solid cars if maintained, much less troublesome than some later AMGs.

Man, that '77 Cutlass looks pristine. $8K might be a bit high but if it is as good as the pics make it look you would be hard-pressed to find one nicer than that for that kind of money.
The Skyhawk is baffling. Such low miles on such a pedestrian car. I'd guess mechanical parts wouldn't be a problem but not sure why anyone would want it.
The Fury III is great. Would probably run forever.

If the Fury had even a 318, I would be all over it. Slant 6 not enough fun there for me
Columbus CL search for "restored" turns up this 1914 Locomobile M48 up for grabs at $375000. Interesting history.
Partial write up on the Antique Auto Magazine site: "Wayne purchased his Locomobile in 1978, but at some time in its life it had been converted to a wrecker. Fortunately, whoever did the conversion was careful not to discard too much of the original body while adding a boom. Even so, it has taken Wayne 33 years to complete its restoration, taking photos and measurements from the half-dozen or so remaining cars like it."
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
Anyone notice the Cutlass has a PA plate on the rear and a Jersey one on the front? Odd.
since PA is a rear plate only state, you see all kind of weird stuff on the front. Some plates that look real close to actual state plates, but aren't.
Never figured out the logic of putting something like that on CL either, and now ads aren't free.
Top of the line brass cars command big bucks, but that has to be optimistic. If it was 5-10 years older and a senior model (not sure if this is), it might get closer.
Long time ago I had a neighbor who owned an 1899 steam-powered Locomobile and participated in the 1959 London to Brighton run (not race) which was/is an annual celebration for passing the Locomotives on Highways Act of 1896. My neighobor's little steam buggy was a far cry from the big ICE Locomobile examples like the one I saw on CL. Like everyone else I'm wondering what it's doing there.
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
Looking it up in my Locomobile Price Guide (just kidding) -- I agree, the price is way too optimistic for this body style. They were a very high quality car, but you could get a Locomobile Speedster for less than that, and the Speedster is infinitely more desirable.
I'd say....maybe.....160K--180K at best. Seller is going to be buying a lot of birthday cakes for that car.
yeah, that is going to cut way the heck down on how many ads are posed at least. Nice that the dealers will finally have to pay even if they pretend to be owners. But I bet a lot of actual owners (the kind of ads I want to see out there) will just move to alternate free methods (like facebook).
CL in my area was so full of obvious scams, I can see why they did this. The real estate section is still full of obvious scams. FB is real competition now, I've found a few bargains (non-car) there myself.
I like Facebook for selling cars. I sold my Mini and my friend's Boxster pretty fast on FB, after piddling action on CL.
I don't sell too often, but last time I did, I sold my car in 10 minutes on Craigs. It was almost funny how quickly the guy called about it and agreed to buy it over the phone
I dunno. Now the crooks can even make excellent fake certified checks and vehicle titles to go along with counterfeit currency. Throw in armed robberies and I'm kind of leery. I know most transactions are legitimate, but it only takes one to set you back for quite awhile financially.

A guy I knew from HS got arrested for selling cars without titles and then never delivering them and selling the same car over and over. He was shady AF even back then. Who pays for a car in cash, on the promise that the seller will drop if off in a couple of days?

I helped my internet unskilled uncle sell his 98-99 (I forget) LeSabre on CL a couple years back. Miled up a little but maintained, sold in a couple days to the first looker.
well, maybe, but I believe in the "they aren't making any more of them" theory. So if it is one of the rare nice, unmolested ones, and you want it, paying a little bit extra is better than not getting one at all.
I think the CRX is fine if you are into it. A better deal than trying to fix up a $1500 neglected car. And that one ticks all the boxes - Si, good colors, best location (low chance of rust or sun damage), maintained with recent work, longterm ownership. Seems to me that's how you want to find one.

I haven't seen one of these so expensive since around 2007. I paid that much for one in 2006 as a better optioned 25K mile car.
Have been looking around these listings. Might be a better place than Craigs
