I'm putting down $2500 for a 36/12 lease. Payment they gave me is $258 am I getting a good deal?

    Is the $28,970 the MSRP or the selling price? We need both to run the numbers.

    And, what is the breakdown of the $2500 you are giving them? I doubt they are 'paying off' the mileage charges - they might be going into the new lease payment.

    Sadly they didn't provide that info. I'll call them this morning, can you give me a list of exactly what to ask for?

    Ask for the adjusted cap cost, and a full accounting of the $2500.

    Hey Michaell,

    When I called for those numbers they gave me an adjusted cap cost of $26,419 taxes of $1247 and a bank fee of $595. What they failed to disclose earlier was that these fees aren't rolled into the price. As a result I would either have to come out of pocket an additional $1842 or have my payment increased to $297. I feel pretty burnt by them.... What do you think?

    I ended up calling two other local Hyundai dealers. One agreed Just got home with my new Tuscon Sport. $2500 out of pocket, payment of $258 on 36/12 rolled in taxes+fees. Took a lot of work but got the deal we wanted in the end. Thank you so much for your help! You probably saved me over $1500

    Hi do you have MF/residual/lease cash numbers for 2017 Hyundai Tuscon SE Plus AWD. I am looking at a 24/10K mile lease. Trying to decide between a CX5 or a Tuscon. Discarded Honda CRV as they don't lease well.
    I am in Southern California.

    Chicago area or city of Chicago?

    I ask because you'll pay tax twice if you live in Chicago proper - state sales tax against the sum of the payments, then city sales tax against the monthly payment. Something like 17% total tax.

    It is in the suburbs, so hope I wont be paying it twice.
    Any thoughts about the calculations and this weird super high title fees? Is that normal for the state by any chance?

    I've never seen title fees that high ... check with another dealer and see if you get a similar number. Could be the first dealer is marking them up for some reason.

    So he finally got back to me, he said that he made a mistake, he meant 1,257 taxes not title.
    It still does not make a lot of sense with those numbers, but just to make sure before start negotiating him, could you please give me MF/RV for 10k/36m lease on AWD Limited with ultimate package?

    I am in Southern California.

    @Michaell Seriously on the MF? That's like .816%
    same info for the 2017 Hyundai Tucson SE Plus AWD for Indiana for 36mo/12K , please
    .00099 and 62%.

    $1500 lease cash
    So, am I doing this right? I went to Edmunds lease calculator and used the TrueCar avg for the Tucson SE Plus for my area Base = 26,868 (MSRP 28,150, factory invoice 27,016, market avg 27,279, Truecar avg 26,868)
    put in the fees listed = 1185
    incentives = 1750
    my trade in = 500 ('00 Mitsu Montero 235K mi, not getting much more on it, and not worth selling)
    owed on my car = 0
    my down pay = 2000
    lease term 36 mo
    residual value = 62% of 26,868 = 16,658
    MF = .00099
    Miles = 12,000
    Acquisition fee = 600 (pure guess)
    gives me:
    Total Loan Amount $24,403
    Monthly Payment (tax included) $284

    So, if I can get them to that true care avg of 26,868 (before fees and incentives), then $284/month should be close to what I can get?

    Hi do you have MF/residual/lease cash numbers for 2017 Hyundai Tuscon SE Plus AWD. I am looking at a 24/10K mile lease. Trying to decide between a CX5 or a Tuscon. Discarded Honda CRV as they don't lease well.
    I am in Southern California.

    .00034 and 67%. $1750 lease cash
    @Michaell Seriously on the MF? That's like .816%
    same info for the 2017 Hyundai Tucson SE Plus AWD for Indiana for 36mo/12K , please
    .00099 and 62%.

    $1500 lease cash
    So, am I doing this right? I went to Edmunds lease calculator and used the TrueCar avg for the Tucson SE Plus for my area Base = 26,868 (MSRP 28,150, factory invoice 27,016, market avg 27,279, Truecar avg 26,868)
    put in the fees listed = 1185
    incentives = 1750
    my trade in = 500 ('00 Mitsu Montero 235K mi, not getting much more on it, and not worth selling)
    owed on my car = 0
    my down pay = 2000
    lease term 36 mo
    residual value = 62% of 26,868 = 16,658
    MF = .00099
    Miles = 12,000
    Acquisition fee = 600 (pure guess)
    gives me:
    Total Loan Amount $24,403
    Monthly Payment (tax included) $284

    So, if I can get them to that true care avg of 26,868 (before fees and incentives), then $284/month should be close to what I can get?
    Residual is a percentage of MSRP
    Don't know anything about TrueCar, but it's possible their price already includes incentives
    Also, incentives on a lease might be different from incentives on a purchase.
    Acquisition fee is $595 (good guess)

    Hi,

    I'd really appreciate some help with the numbers I got from a dealer today.
    This is for a 2017 Tucson Limited AWD with the Unlimited package in Seattle area (WA).

    MSRP was ~35,300, the negotiated price was ~29,300. Residual was 61%, MF was .00191 (looked really high, as my credit score is in the high 700s). Cash down was 2,000. 36 months with 10K a year.

    With all this their calculation came down to ~350/month.

    Now I'm new to leasing as I was buying the cars before this, so my only reference point are the online lease calculators. Every single one of them I tried with these numbers didn't give me a monthly payment over 300, tax included (9.5% over here), mostly it was around $260/month.

    Am I missing something? How can I be paying them over $12K over 3 years, when the price difference on the car is only 6K (negotiated price - residual - cashdown)???

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Last question answered first. You are borrowing $30K to lease the car. The money factor is a substitute for the finance charges on that money. .00191 is equivalent to about 3.5% APR. The difference is finance charges on the lease (+ acquisition fees, etc, etc)

    That said, the base MF is .00151, so it looks like they are marking that up for extra profit.
    $2000 should be more than enough to cover 1st payment, $595 acquisition fee and DMV/dealer fees. Using the marked up money factor, I get $312.84/mo.+tax = $342.56/mo, at 9.5% sales tax.

    So, only about $8/mo. off.

    I'll guess that you are entering the $2000 as a downpayment in the lease calculator, but it really isn't. You have to subtract 1st payment, acquisition fee and any other fees that aren't paid upfront. There is also tax on any rebates to be paid upfront.

    Ask for a breakdown of those extra charges, and also for the adjusted CAP cost. (Is it actually $29,300?)
    Also, get exact numbers. It's amazing how a little rounding up or down adds or subtracts from the payment.
    And, insist on the base money factor. That alone will knock $22/mo. off the payment.

    I thought .00191 comes to about 4.58% APR doesn't it? (.00191 * 2400)...
    $350 I was quoted was pre tax, so I had to be paying them over $380 actually. That's what baffled me...
    The cap was really 29K, and that's pretty much what they offered without much negotiation (6K off MSRP), which was surprising at the beginning, but I guess they later tried to make up their money through this high monthly...

    So with all this in mind, I guess I'll try another dealership... Should I be going for 61% and .00151?
    Also with 2K down, what do you think a good monthly should be? around 300 pre tax?

    Thanks again!

    I'm looking for MF/RV/Lease Cash for '17 Tucson AWD Limited w/Ultimate pkg and also without (36/12) in Portland, OR.

    I've seen 0.00191/57% I think so far, but not sure if that's correct. I've also been getting rebate totals from dealers anywhere between $1,750-$4,250.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    Can you please provide the current money factor and residual value for a 2017 Hyundai Tucson SE AWD for a 3 year lease at 12,000 miles per year in the state of New York? If there is a difference between 36 months and 39 months, can you please provide both? Thank you!
