Our recommendation is to limit the up front cash to just the first payment and DMV costs - roll the dealer and acquisition fees into the lease payment.

Hmmm.. seems like it's .00100 or .00080 discount, but we've had members tell us that they will only give that discount off a "standard" MF, not a subvented rate, like this one.

Also...how do ppl feel generally about putting down a security deposit to reduce the lease payments? More specifically, do you feel that Mercedes is more incentivized to charge off small dents, scratches, etc because they already have your cash in hand? Many thanks!!

If your dealer allows it, we highly recommend it. It's a good return on your money.

Rarely are small dents and scratches held against you at the end of the lease - it's the larger ones you have to be concerned with.

The independent end-of-lease inspector has no knowledge of your lease account or the amount of your security deposit. The charges will be what they will be.

A couple of points to note:

1. Florida charges sales tax against the monthly payment, so the tax figure in the quote can be ignored.
2. No mention of the $795 acquisition fee; this must be an AutoNation dealer.
3. 11% off sticker is pretty good; read back through the last page or two of posts in this forum to see if more of a discount is possible.
4. Base MF is .00139, so that is being marked up. Tell the dealer - politely - that you won't sign a deal where the MF is inflated. They know what the base rate is. Be prepared to have the dealer tell you that the discount from sticker will shrink.

If I back the tax out of the final price, and use the base MF, I get a payment of $591/mo before tax. Not likely to see $500/mo, even with MSD.

The only up front costs you want to pay are the first payment and registration / tire / tag agency fees. Add everything else into the lease payment.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted capitalized cost, and how they reached that number from the selling price.

Hi! I am ending a lease 3 months early. Looking again in an E class. I have been paying $579 including tax. Just saw a new 2017 E class and have been offered the same exact payment deal, $579. Both the '15 and '17 are similar mainly having the P1 package. This year's car MSRP is $58,675 (a little less than the '15 model). Selling price 51,900. Down payment $3680 (just as in '15). 12K/36 months. MF 0.00055. residual 61 %. This is in Los Angeles

Might you be able to find the money factor and residual for an E350 Wagon.  I think only the 2016's are currently available.  36mo/36k is preferred unless some sweeter terms for 24/27/30/39 month terms are seen.

Assuming RWD, I show the MF as .00139 this month. 61% for 36/12.

What is the full breakdown of the $3680 up front?

Running your prices, I get $496/mo plus tax with your MF, and $569/mo plus tax with my MF.

Confirm both the MF and the adjusted cap cost with the dealer.

The MF is indeed 0.0005. I happened to overhear some discussion of it in another deal and saw it in a reference print-out. What specifically do I need to see in the breakdown of the adjusted cap to make sense of it to lead to 579 or your calculation?

I think I realize now that the 3680 must be the 'due at lease signing' including the first payment of 579 and the rest of the breakdown is the registration, and other fees. The downpayment must be 2300. If that's the case, does this deal make more sense?

If $2300 goes to CAP reduction and the adjusted CAP cost is $49,600, and the money factor is actually .00055, then the payment should be $431/mo.+tax.

If $51,900 is the actual adjusted CAP cost (and not the selling price), and the money factor is .00139 (as we show), then the payment would be $569/mo.+tax.

That's a big spread. I'd verify the adjusted CAP cost, and an accounting of the $3680.
Too many holes and possible misinformation in that deal.

another thing:

Noticed something on the contract from the last 2015 lease:
"rent charge - The amount charged in addition to the Depreciation and any amortized amounts" Charged as $2091.73. It is used in determining monthly payment on the contract

Any insight on this? Most likely not negotiable.
