exactly, there's a 595 acquisition fee being added to the sale price and that's what makes up the difference.

2017 EX-L. Sticker $29,8K.
12K miles/yr, 36 months.
$670 total initial out-of pocket, which includes tag and first month.
$276/month (total, incl tax) for the remaining 35 months
$350 disposition fee at the end.
We walked because they never mentioned the disposition fee until we were inking the deal. Did we walk from a good deal??

There's a disposition fee on most leases - you only pay it if you turn the car in and don't lease or buy another. What is the sale price they are quoting?

I think it was $25K. I also found out the tag fee is only $166, so besides the first month payment of $275 + the 166 for the tag they were getting an additional $442 out of my pocket up front.

Using a lease calculator it looks like the additional $750 in rebates for this month is basically offset by the 2% drop in resid on a 36/12.

Is this how you professionals would do it? I'm trying to beat the $189 special lease offer for LX CVT.

I'm getting $156/month pre-tax with at least $2000 for my trade-in. Thanks for helping a noob!

You don't have to ask for the residual value - it's fixed by the bank.

Honda dealers rarely mark up the base MF, so there isn't much to worry about, there.

Just make sure that the dealer's math and your math match. That's how you'll catch hidden fees.

Hi! You were a GREAT help with my first 2017 Honda Accord EX that I leased on Black Friday! I got into my car with absolutely nothing down, they paid off $867 on my then existing lease. I got a great deal and I know it. Now I'm negotiating to get another 2017 Accord EX for my recent college graduated son. I can't get anywhere close to that deal. We have nothing to trade or no current lease to be paid off. I have one dealership offering me $259 out the door with 35 payments. Another is offering me $244 but we pay for the plates and the first payment. I live in New York State and I have four dealers within 30 miles. What are your thoughts. Should I hang in there until the end of the month and hope for better or do feel these are fair deals for 36 months/36,000 miles?

You may be able to negotiate a better selling price towards the end of the month, for sure.

Be advised, the residuals have gone down since last November, which will make your lease payments higher, all things being equal.

Both RI and MA tax the monthly lease payment, so you can ignore the tax amount.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and how they arrived at that number from the selling price.

How much cash are they asking for up front?

Using your prices, I get $168/mo before tax.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and how they arrived at that number from the $18,403. If they don't want to be transparent, that is a signal for you to start working with another dealer.

Is base msrp referred to invoice? If your cap cost is roughly 18,400 with fees rolled in, you got a huge drop off msrp which I didn't see you mention anything out of pocket.

They gave me every excuse under the sun when I asked them about seeing the adjusted cap cost from 18,403 what would that piece of information tell me and if their not willing to share should I pass on this deal. However I did get the breakdown of the 5700 they took off of on the MSRP

I would not be putting money down however I think I'm getting screwed on that when I asked my salesmen why I came up with a different payment then the 205 monthly payment he put down he said because he rolled the firsts month payment so their would be no first payment however when I did the math their was a 26 dollar difference per month as the number we both got was 168 and 179 with tax times that by 36 months that's 936 dollars if all he gave me was the first months payment that's only 205 dollars where did that 731 dollars go to.
