Thank you. The dealer mentioned that the incentives may change for the hybrid from month to month. Is that correct? The reason I am asking is because our lease is up in October.

The numbers could change every month or so - by the time October rolls around, they could be better ... or worse. Depends on inventory and how motivated Honda would be to clear it out.

So had everything ready to go with a local dealer. He pulled my credit score and it came back a 640 from Experian, which is approx 50 points lower than my most recent pull (mid May) from Chase bank (when I was approved for a new CC) and the score than my monthly Amex bill shows.
Sales guy said that Honda Financial wouldn't approve me for a lease due to the score, and due to having no auto loan history, and offered to assist me in financing a sport as opposed to leasing.

Any idea why the score was so low compared to what I'm seeing at two difference credit card providers? Also, is this guy just bluffing when he says Honda Financial won't lease to a customer at that score? If so does anyone know the minimum credit score that Honda Financial would approve? I'm having a hard time finding any firm data on the web.

If your score is above 610, you should be able to lease - MF is .00153

There is an "auto enhanced" credit score, which puts more weight on your credit history as it applies to auto loans or leases. If you don't have any history, then I can understand the dealers comments.

Try a different dealer and be up front about your credit - if you're honest, it's possible they'll work harder to get you qualified.

Thanks for the advice. Will definitely be conscience of this going to future dealers.

    Hello everyone!

I have several questions but I think they are related. Hopefully I can get some great advice here :).

    Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Texas area.

    1) Looking to lease 2017 Accord Sport w/ Honda Sensing for 36mo/12K/year. I need some idea what people have paid for similar deals. I haven't been able to find any rebates or incentives for June and it's not likely that Honda will roll anything out (historically speaking). Lease inquiry from Edmunds returned rather high numbers like $321/mo with excluded TTL. It sounds like between $80-$100 where it should be?

I have to return 2013 Accord LX from the lease which we extended by 1.5 years. It originally matured in February 2016. It's in good condition with about 8 thousand miles under the allowed mileage (currently 44,600 mi). Should I bring it into new lease negotiation or just return it and do a separate new lease deal?

    3) We also purchased new 2017 Accord EX in September 2016 using price promise deal from Edmunds. I don't know if I can use it to my advantage for an overall separate lease deal, but we have been loyal Honda Accord customers at least since 2007 (mostly leasing every 36 months in New York, but now living in TX).

Sorry for a lengthy post but these things are connected as far as being with Honda for a long period of time.

    Thank You for your help.

Not sure how long you've lived in Texas, but the tax assessment for leases is way different than in NY. TX taxes the entire selling price of the car, even for a lease, where NY taxes the sum of the payments. Everything else being equal, this will make your lease payment more expensive in TX.

Take your 2013 Accord to a CarMax and have them give you a trade value; alternatively, check the "Real World Trade in Values" discussion here at Edmunds and let our experts give you a numbers.

Then, call Honda Finance (or whoever the bank is on your current lease) and get the payoff amount. This will tell you if you have positive or negative equity in that car, and you can assess your deal accordingly.

Not sure that the new 2017 Accord will do anything for you; Honda doesn't offer a loyalty program like other brands do.

Looks like Weymouth honda (boston area) has been sold to Ocean Honda (same location). Sadly, the lease calculator is gone from their new web site.

What is the Residual/MF for a 2017 Accord Touring in NJ? 36/12K miles - does Honda go lower than 12K?

    .00059 and 50%

It's possible Honda offers 10K allowances in the NY/NJ/CT area; confirm with your dealer. If they do, add 1% to the residual value.

$1000 dealer cash and $1000 bonus lease cash

Michaell. thank you very much for the info. Would it make sense to work with the dealers in other States where lease options are cheaper? I'll be willing to pay a 1-time charge to get it to my door on the truck if I can save significantly over the lifetime of the lease. I've seen some excellent deals being posted here, but haven't seen much about TX? I really don't need to buy another Accord at this time.

    Thank You again.

If you register it in Texas, I'm pretty sure the state will want their sales tax.

Yes, that's true. Everything is bigger in Texas, including lease prices. I'll post some quotes I'll be getting from the dealers soon. But as a general rule, because we are already in June, the 2017 models will be considered 1 year-olds after August (I think). Should this help in negotiating the lease price? I really don't want to by another Accord at this time. Thank You again.

OK, these numbers look quite steep to me....even if they were for 2017 Accord EXL V6, but they are not. These numbers were sent to me for 2017 Sport w/ Honda sensing.

    MSVP: $27,050
    Discount: $5,683.14
    Adjusted price: $21,366.86
    Paint and fabric $499
    Window tint $399
    Protection package:$699
    Pinstripe $199
    Total Purchase: $23,162.86
    Trade difference $23,162.86
    Doc fee $150
    Tax: (tax credit?) $289.54
    Non tax fee: $217.46
    Net price: $23,819.86

    RV: $14,336.50
    MF: 0.00159

So again this is for 2017 Accord Sport w/ Honda Sensing 36mo/15k/year

With cash down $1,500 estimated payment between $289-299/mo

With cash down $3,000 estimated payment $244-254

Nothing in that quote about dealer's cash or lease cash, even though I sent an initial inquiry.

Your suggestions and targets to negotiate are greatly appreciated.

I'm in North Taxes. Thank You.

Also, if possible please give me an idea what monthly payments to shoot for if I wanted to go with the standard 36mo/12K deal. I think we'll be quite alright because we also own another 2017 Accord EX.

    Thanks again.

$1800 of crap added, that is mostly useless (except for window tint, maybe)
    Base MF is .00059
Those are dealer incentives, so they won't be disclosed
Can't comment on tax, etc, without knowing your state and tax rate.

    I'd find another dealer

Thank You very much. I thought so too. I am in North Texas. My sales tax here is 6.25%. But this was an initial inquiry and I wasn't expecting them to start with giving away the store LOL. But they absolutely crap loaded this quote. I'll post some others as well. I've had some leased cars in the past but they came from a 3rd party in NY and were by far more competitive than anything I see in Texas so far.

I actually requested lease quote on Edmunds and this was sent to me. I understand that's not an offer but a starting point. I also got the price quote on purchasing the same vehicle which lists MSRP and "your best price" included. I took VIN# and the name of dealership out for obvious reasons.

Got it. I've never used our pricing tools to get a dealer quote; I find it easier to negotiate on my own.

Be advised that there may be different incentives for leasing versus purchase, so "your best price" may not be valid for a lease.

Thank You Michaell. Got it. I actually used Edmunds price promise just last September when we purchased 2017 Accord EX w/ Sensing. It worked well. But I always got my leases from those leasing companies in NY. Things are not that favorable in TX for leasing b/c of huge distances and taxes on the entire vehicle. I'll keep looking and try to educate myself here.

Really need your expertise and opinion on this proposed lease numbers (on the bottom) for EXL 4 cylinder model.

I'm in North Texas area, DFW metroplex. Thank You. I'll post numbers on Sport model we're also considering.
What can be reasonably asked to lower monthly payment w/ $2K out pocket? Dealer cash? Lease cash?

    Thank You in advance.

Same question for experts here. Of course, these are completely different models, and they are considered for two different family members :). But my question is this a good starting point to negotiate a lease?

Also, it says no trade in, but I'm returning 2013 Accord LX which has about 8,000 miles less on it than allowed under lease terms at this point in time.

Will someone kindly provide the MF and RES for both the LX and Sport models for a 2017 Accord Sedan in Buffalo, NY? Please and thank you. 3yr, 12K/yr

@billydoc1 - those both look like purchase quotes. I see no reference to the $595 acquisition fee in either. Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost.

I confirm the MF and residual for both models.

If I were to guess, the incentives are already baked into the discounts given to you.

Lease term and miles per year?

    Breakdown of the $1500?

    MSRP and selling price?

Without the details, we can only guess how good (or bad) that deal is.

    Hi,
I am not sure if I am getting reasonable offer.
this is for Sport SE 36/12k lease (NJ)

    MSRP $27,190
    Dealer Price $23,952
    Incentive -$1,000
    Doc fee $399
    Acquisition fee $595

I am not sure how they come up with $275/mo sign and drive.
and they confirmed that it includes all the fees and tax and no up front fee.
am I getting a good deal? or is there room to negotiate?

thank you in advance for any advice.

Not a bad deal but see if they'll knock off another 7-800 to make up for the doc fee.
That would bring it to about 255 sign and drive.

    .00059 MF and 57% residual

CAP cost would have to be $24,550 to get that payment.
That's about $600 more than the items you listed. Seems like tax and dmv fees would be more than that, but the payment pretty much matches their price quote.
