Hi. How do those quoted Sport numbers change (if at all) for a Sport with Sensing?

    Hey everyone,

In the market to lease a 2017 Accord Coupe EX-L V6. This is in the SF Bay area. using zip 94591 for tax.

Migs - based on those numbers, that looks like a solid deal. I wasn't sure of the residual, so I used 51% and the payment came out within a couple dollars of the 335.
Michaell and kyfdx will probably come along to confirm the residual but you're getting a decent deal if you pull the trigger. That's a lot of car for 335 a month incl tax!

Also, keep in mind if you hold out for a 2018, the 2017s will most likely be gone and you will not be able lease a 2018 in this same configuration for anywhere near this good of deal for quite some time.

Went into the dealer to look at a 2017 hybrid EX-L. It had a sticker with a 33780 Msrp and 28500 sale price
but when the sales manager got the numbers back they ended up offering me 425 per month. I asked the salesman about the incentives he said unless I was military or a recent grad that there was none. Was I being too optimistic or were they blowing smoke. Could someone provide a decent price to work off of?

$5500 of incentives on this model. But, they are all factory-to-dealer incentives.
Basically, they were asking you for MSRP, considering their incentives.

kyfdx and Michaell have all the good scoop on residuals and money factors - that 50% is probably spot on. If you've got someone who can beat that $26k (incl acquisition fee), you need to jump on that - that would actually be more than $4k below invoice because dealers don't usually roll that fee into the selling price.

Let us know how you make out - I'm jealous - that is one fantastic vehicle to get such a great deal on.

When you are shown the lease agreement, it should show an agreed value of about $26k, plus total fees of about 1200, minus your due at signing about 822 for an adjusted cap cost of around 26,378. These figures are approximate and might vary a little - if they vary a lot, you need to ask why. Using these figures, a money factor of .00059, a residual of 50%, sales tax rate of 8.375%, your payment should be very close to the 335 incl tax for 36/12k lease.

Negotiated it down to $26,000 after several back and forth emails. Only 1 out of 3 dealers responded with numbers, the others refused to give numbers over email. That price includes the $3,250 available lease cash incentive.

    Here's the deal:

    leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Honda&msrp=32150&sales_price=26000&months=36&mf=.00059&dp=0&doc_fee=80&acq_fee=595&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=51&reg_fee=400&sales_tax=8.375&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true&miles=12000

    2017 Accord Coupe EX-L V6
    36 mos/12K per year

    Agreed upon Sales Price: $26,000
$595 Acquisition fee rolled into the lease payment

    Monthly Payment (Excl. Tax): $309
    Monthly Payment (incl. tax): $335

    Drive-Off: $821
    1st month payment: $335
    Down payment: $0
    Registration and doc fee: $480
Tax on cap cost reduction and fees: $7
    Leasehackr Score: 8.7 years
    Disposition Fee: $0
    Total Lease Cost: $12,129

    Would value everyone's opinions...thanks!

Gman, thanks for your opinion, this is great news! With yours and others' views that this is a solid price, now I can throw it to the one salesperson who says they will beat all offers, assuming she has a similar vehicle.

I used 51% residual and .00059 MF with the leasehackr calculator.

Kydfx - your number is a little lower - looks like the leasehackr calc is a little off?

All in all, thanks for all your help.
If you have someone willing to beat the $26k sales price which includes the $595 acquisition fee, that's actually more than $4k below invoice because dealers don't normally include that in the sales price - you need to jump on that.

The 50% residual is probably spot on because Michaell and kyfdx have all the good scoop on residuals and money factors.

Let us know how this goes - I'm jealous - that's a great car that you're about to get a great deal on - don't let them pull any shenanigans.

I reran the online calculator, changing residual to 50% - Kyfdx is spot on - $317/mo before tax, $344/mo with tax. Only $9 more. Still within the budget!

    leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Honda&msrp=32150&sales_price=26000&months=36&mf=.00059&dp=0&doc_fee=80&acq_fee=595&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=50&reg_fee=400&sales_tax=8.375&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true&miles=12000

Thanks, will report back. I feel really great about this deal. If the finance guy tries a fast one (I've had it done to me at an Acura dealership), I'll just get up and walk. If they can't stick to the numbers, sayonara! Cheers everyone!

You've done you're homework so I think you'll do just fine - they will realize you've got your act together. I misunderstood your previous post and thought you meant they included the acquisition fee in the sales quote figure. I reran the numbers and came up with 343 incl tax with the acquisition fee rolled into the payment and 822 due at signing - so right about where you are with your calculation right now. Great job on doing the legwork.

Hi guys, i went to dealer today and worked out the following:

    2017 accord sport special edition:

    msrp 27,190
    residual 55%
    mf - .00059

upfront cash is 800$ - this includes first month, dmv and may include some actual small amount down on the lease but im not sure.

after some back and forth we settled on 289$/month 36 months 12k miles ..taxes in payment ...located in nyc

They started me real high around 390 with same figures.

I feel i may have a little more wiggle room - i plan to go back to 1 more dealer tomorrow before pulling the trigger.

Any thoughts / tips much appreciated.

    Thanks

What is the selling price being quoted? And is this a straight deal with no trade in?
    No added on accessories?

Not sure what your market is right now but a selling price of $22.5k (incl doc fee) should get you to around 270 incl tax. Selling price of $21.5k (incl doc fee) should get you to around 240 incl tax. To offer you a comparison, the selling price of my Sport (non SE) was $20.5k incl doc fee (our SoCal Honda market is very competitive).

Thanks for the comps....I think my selling price is around 23,200 .. if they have 2,750 in incentives then I feel I can push to get selling prices down a little more. I don't think these guys will go for 20.5 that seems like a great deal you got. Yes this is a straight deal with no trade .. I'm not certain about the exact accessories but i plan to iron that out tomorrow.

My Sport is not an SE so about a grand less than what you're looking at - depending on available inventory, I think you might be able to get to somewhere between 21.5 a 22.0 and If I recall correctly, I think your doc fee is capped like ours. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

For the section called "Title, license and registration.... " on the lease agreement.. what does this really include? Since honda owns the car, i really dont need the title , registration would be DMV fees, but not aure what lincense fees are??

They charged me $60 on the lease & now they want another  $65 so they can give me the registration sticker. In live in NY.
Seems like they are scamming another $65 out of me??

    Please help

    Thank you

Even though the bank owns the car, you have to pay all fees for registering it, just as if it was your own.
