Hi, I was quote a 2017 honda accord sport, $690 down with $289 on monthly payment for 36 month. I am in CA. Is this a good deal?

Here's the deal I got at Hardin Honda (Anaheim) in March- $1k due at signing, 36/15k miles, 20,455 sale price, 225 a month incl 7.75% sales tax. There was only 1500 lease cash in March, quite a bit less than now. Check to see what selling price they are quoting - on a Sport in CA, you should be around $21k or possibly even less with the incentives available now. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Hey everyone,

In the market to lease a 2017 Accord Coupe EX-L V6. This is in the SF Bay area. using zip 94591 for tax.

    Msrp: $32,170

Negotiated it down to $26,000 after several back and forth emails. Only 1 out of 3 dealers responded with numbers, the others refused to give numbers over email. That price includes the $3,250 available lease cash incentive.

    Here's the deal:

    leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Honda&msrp=32150&sales_price=26000&months=36&mf=.00059&dp=0&doc_fee=80&acq_fee=595&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=51&reg_fee=400&sales_tax=8.375&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true&miles=12000

    2017 Accord Coupe EX-L V6
    36 mos/12K per year

    Agreed upon Sales Price: $26,000
$595 Acquisition fee rolled into the lease payment

    Monthly Payment (Excl. Tax): $309
    Monthly Payment (incl. tax): $335

    Drive-Off: $821
    1st month payment: $335
    Down payment: $0
    Registration and doc fee: $480
Tax on cap cost reduction and fees: $7
    Leasehackr Score: 8.7 years
    Disposition Fee: $0
    Total Lease Cost: $12,129

    Would value everyone's opinions...thanks!

Migs - based on those numbers, that looks like a solid deal. I wasn't sure of the residual, so I used 51% and the payment came out within a couple dollars of the 335.
Michaell and kyfdx will probably come along to confirm the residual but you're getting a decent deal if you pull the trigger. That's a lot of car for 335 a month incl tax!

Also, keep in mind if you hold out for a 2018, the 2017s will most likely be gone and you will not be able lease a 2018 in this same configuration for anywhere near this good of deal for quite some time.
Gman, thanks for your opinion, this is great news! With yours and others' views that this is a solid price, now I can throw it to the one salesperson who says they will beat all offers, assuming she has a similar vehicle.

I used 51% residual and .00059 MF with the leasehackr calculator.

Kydfx - your number is a little lower - looks like the leasehackr calc is a little off?

All in all, thanks for all your help.
If you have someone willing to beat the $26k sales price which includes the $595 acquisition fee, that's actually more than $4k below invoice because dealers don't normally include that in the sales price - you need to jump on that.

The 50% residual is probably spot on because Michaell and kyfdx have all the good scoop on residuals and money factors.

Let us know how this goes - I'm jealous - that's a great car that you're about to get a great deal on - don't let them pull any shenanigans.

When you are shown the lease agreement, it should show an agreed value of about $26k, plus total fees of about 1200, minus your due at signing about 822 for an adjusted cap cost of around 26,378. These figures are approximate and might vary a little - if they vary a lot, you need to ask why. Using these figures, a money factor of .00059, a residual of 50%, sales tax rate of 8.375%, your payment should be very close to the 335 incl tax for 36/12k lease.

I reran the online calculator, changing residual to 50% - Kyfdx is spot on - $317/mo before tax, $344/mo with tax. Only $9 more. Still within the budget!

    leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Honda&msrp=32150&sales_price=26000&months=36&mf=.00059&dp=0&doc_fee=80&acq_fee=595&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=50&reg_fee=400&sales_tax=8.375&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true&miles=12000

Thanks, will report back. I feel really great about this deal. If the finance guy tries a fast one (I've had it done to me at an Acura dealership), I'll just get up and walk. If they can't stick to the numbers, sayonara! Cheers everyone!

You've done your homework so you'll do fine - they will realize you've got your act together. I misunderstood your previous post and thought the acquisition fee was included in the sales figure quote - I reran the numbers with acquisition fee rolled into the payment and the 821 due at signing and came up with 343 incl tax - right about where you are with your latest calculation. Great job on the legwork.

Reporting back on this Coupe EX-L V6 deal. Decided not to take it. Wife has persuaded me to go with the sedan instead. There are only a few coupes left here in Nor Cal so if anyone is looking to get one, please work off of the deal I put together. I bet you could probably get another $1K off by month's end.

Anyhow, looking now at the Accord EX-L V6 sedan. So, based on latest posts - Michaell is saying at least $3K off MSRP before the incentives. Has anyone been able to get an EX-L V6 sedan at the mid $24K level, say $24,700? Is that a viable target, given the MSRP of $31730, incentives of $3100 + additional bargaining to take off an extra $3930. At that price, with 50% residual, .00059 MF, 36/12, I'm getting $287 before tax, drive off of $800 which includes 1st mo payment and DMV fees.

I don't track prices; I was responding to another posters' numbers. @gmanusmc and @brian125 are the resident pricing experts for Accords.

    Hello,

I was quoted a price for a 2017 Honda Accord Sport SE.
At 24 months with 10k miles. NY 11801
Msrp $27,050. Selling price is $23,665
I have excellent credit (if that makes a difference)
$0 down payment with Tax rolled in at $305 a month.

    The upfront fees are
    1. Doc fee
    2. First months payment
    3. DMV fee
They told me no additional upfront fees, but that might change once the contract comes around.

Im looking to see how much lower I should be negotiating the vehicle. I was asking for $215. but they told me the bottom line was $305

    Thanks!

    Update on my previous post.

Went back I now have the 2017 Accord Sport Se for 24 months at $299
This includes all tax, insurance gap, all fees rolled in.
$0 down and $0 due at signing.

Should I pull the trigger on the deal, or should I still negotiate lower and look at additional dealers?

    Thanks
What is the adjusted cap cost, with the taxes and fees added in.
Spoke with them on the phone, they said just about 23,000$ even.

Hey Gman! That's right, more room, and extra doors. The rear is definitely spacious.

I checked older posts and actually see $4100 lease cash for the V6.

I'll try for $24k even, and roll the drive off fees into the payment for a true $0 drive off. Comes out to $288/mo before tax.

I'll report back, I have 3 dealers now competing via email.

Michaell- I just used your reference of $3k off before incentives as a baseline, but at $24k sales price, that's even more aggressive.

If anyone is getting a better deal, pls let us know, thanks!

    leasehackr.com/calculator?make=Honda&msrp=32150&sales_price=26000&months=36&mf=.00059&dp=0&doc_fee=80&acq_fee=595&taxed_inc=0&untaxed_inc=0&rebate=0&resP=50®_fee=400&sales_tax=8.375&memo=&monthlyTax_radio=true&miles=12000

Hi again Migs - yeah, a little more room for stuff in the sedan, haha. Anyway, I calculate the same thing you do but check with Michaell/kyfdx. Michaell said 3600 lease cash in a previous post. I think you can get around 300 incl tax on this trim depending on available inventory.

Let me correct - I was mis-reading the incentives for September.

It's $3600 total lease incentives for the V6 sedan, this month.

I am seeking numbers for 24 month and 36 months, for 12,000 miles (there is NO option for 10K?) for both V6 trims:

    - EX-L V6
    - Touring

If I am reading correctly, for Sept, the V6 trims have a $3600 cash incentive?

And then did I also see correctly that if you add the Sensing option to the EX-L V6, that the residual drops by 2% ?? Or is it only 1% if you only add that and not the Nav. (I plan to use CarPlay, so have no need for Honda's navi, unless I "need" it for voice stuff for CarPlay?)

    Thanks,
    Brian

24/12 or 36/12 residuals - Honda does not offer a 10K mileage allowance, except maybe in the greater NYC area. If it's available, then add 1% to the 12K residual

    .00059 and 56% / 50% (EX-L V6) or 52% / 46% (Touring)

$3600 total lease incentives on V6 sedans, this month.

You have to get HS and Nav together, and it does drop the EX-L V6 residual 2%

I have CarPlay in my Jetta that does not have factory nav; works like a charm

Seeking and working on a deal with multiple dealers...What is the MF and RV for a 2017 EX-L V6 in Tucson, Arizona? What is the average off of MSRP before incentives on this Vehicle? Also, In Arizona the tax is paid on the lease payment correct? The Dealers are also saying that the Lease cash is only 3100 not 3600?
    Thanks, Sean

    .00059 and 48% for 36/15

Whoops, the dealer is correct. I see the following lease incentives for V6 Sedans:

    $1500 dealer cash
    $1600 bonus lease cash

The 4-cylinder sedans have an additional $500 on them, but the dealer cash is only $1000, not $1500

Therefore, $3100 total lease incentives for all Accord sedans

So after reading all the posts above, it seems like my friend got a terrible deal on his 2017 Accord EX trim in NYC. He's paying 305 per month for 36 months with only 10k mileage per year. I am also in the market for a 2017 accord sedan EX trim, how much should I try to negotiate the price down to and around how much should I be paying to lease a similar model? thank you for your help!!

So far I was able to get a few quotes for the EX-L V6 sedan, lowest I've gotten is $26,000. How did someone get a $25k sales price in CA? I was probably being way too optimistic at $24k. Maybe I need to wait till month end?

    At $26,000,  that's $321/mo before tax.

Depending on the remaining inventory, I would think you should be able to achieve a sale price of around $25k like @moadeeb. That's about a 21.5% discount off msrp which isn't unheard of. When $3600 incentive was mentioned, I thought a lower price was possible but the actual incentive is $3100. With a $25k sale, price, I calculate a 36/12 lease payment of about 321 incl 8% sales tax, 800 due at signing. That's a very good deal on a V6 Sedan. I saw one large volume dealer here in SoCal that has more than 120 V6 sedans in stock, so there may still be plenty of this model available. You might need to contact more dealers and be willing to travel a little more to land that killer deal.

That's normal for Honda (and, for most makes). Residual percentages are higher for lower trims.

I realize that everyone on this forum knows that dealing with dealers can be frustrating. I am emailing several, and got these two documents from the same dealer for an Accord EX, CVT, 36 months and 15k/year. Note the amount of tax in the first document, which is using the vehicle sales price plus the Documentation Fee (8% here). Doc 2 has a more reasonable tax amount, but includes a "Lender Fee" ($895) and "Misc Fees" of over $300. smh

First document is a purchase quote, which is why the tax is different.

On the 2nd doc, the $338 is $88 of state fees, plus the "optional" $250 doc fee that every dealer in Ohio charges.

Honda has a $595 acquisition fee. Not sure why they have $895 listed, but you should point that out.

    they both suck!

    Rational Ohio quote:

scroll down to the EX post. Add 2% more for the 15k and you are still at about 271 + tax with 350 in doc/dmv included.

Your doc 2 is exactly the way a lease contract should look. The only thing that is questionable is the $895 for lender fees, when the Honda Finance acquisition fee is $595.

The other questionable item is the high sales price when adjusting for the 3100 lease cash. It should be closer to 21700 and not 22639. Then you would have an acceptable lease deal. The current quote of 1000 drive-off and 308/month is not a good deal for a msrp of 27505...

Use the 1% rule as a gage of deal worthiness...

A realistic discount off msrp would be around 22% incl incentives. And like tony said, you should include destination charge in your calculation. You might do better than 22% as we get closer to the end of the month.

So I signed and drove this last Friday, I wanted to thank all the contributors in this forum. The dealer was super impressed that I knew what they knew and he didn't try to BS me. I wanted to share this to all the folks that are in the market for a new Accord. I'm in Tucson and I leased a 2017 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with Navigation and Sensing. The MSRP is 33870 and I payed 26791. They added a protection package and tint that they vehemently wouldn't remove or discount. The packages were $600 total. Doc Fee was 399 and License was 580. So I payed for the Doc Fee, Packages and License up front. So for 36/12 my payment with tax is 360/mo. The car is beautiful and the fact that they are discounting them over 20% is amazing.

Lease incentive of 3100 is part of that 20% discount.
So you paid 1579 drive-off PLUS 360/month for 36 months?

    did they upsell you?
    "I have a deal I'm signing this weekend for 25k for a EX-L V6 in Tucson. MSRP was 31870. "
