Trying to decide whether to buy a used Subaru Forester or lease and then buy it after. Is the lease strong enough right now that a buy it after would make sense?

Looking at a Forester premium in Chandler, AZ. Lease deal right now is 0 down payment 313 a month. Don't know the other details.

The lease is a good deal. But, a big part of that low lease payment is the high residual percentage. That won't help you much, if you decide to buy it out.

I would encourage a lease at these rates, if you can stay within the mileage restrictions, and are willing to walk away at lease end, if the car is worth less than the residual.

SMF doesn't offer 12 month leases.
They offer 24 months, but they aren't very good.
Need to get out to 36 months to make it worthwhile.
