Accepted on 11/14, offer letter on 11/27. (9 business days, if you take out Thanksgiving).

I could get it notarized today, but I'll just wait until tomorrow.

do you get a paper letter in the mail or an Email to print/notarize? And do you have to send it back, or just make your appointment and bring it with you?

That bodes well, my documents were accepted 11/15.

My understanding is that you print, sign, notarize, scan, and upload the settlement documents, then (usually the next day) the online portal will let you make an appointment to turn the car in.

People have reported issues being able to scan documents that were notarized with embossed seal with no ink. Luckily, the other person in my office who is a notary (besides me) has an ink stamp.

Got my offer letter and discovered that I'm the only notary in the office. Very annoyed. My bank is on the outskirts of town.  I wonder if I can get someone at a VW dealer to notarize it?

This is how dealers annoy their customers to death. Did an online chat with a rep at Bachman VW. She didn't know the answer to whether they can notarize settlement documents but (bizarrely) needed the year of my car and said someone would call me back. Five minutes later, I get a call from someone at the dealership who hasn't yet read the chat log and doesn't realize she doesn't know the answer to my question. She suggested using my local bank (which is a long way away and not open once I get off work), then said she would find out the answer and call me back. Second phone call back from the phone person at the dealer, the general manager is a notary and can notarize my document if I get there before he leaves at 4:30. I tell her that doesn't work for me and I will check back another time. Then I get an email from her recapping the above. That is four points of contact and they haven't solved my problem of wanting to get a VW settlement document notarized without taking time off work to do so.

My BS meter is off the charts at this point--if the GM is the only notary in the house, how can they notarize a car title if someone trades in a car at 4:31 PM after he leaves? :@

you can pretty much stop in at any bank and ask them to do it. without having to open an account. If you ask nice. Or stop at a local town office.

I'm still waiting. Impatiently. The A/C screwed up again on Saturday. I made 3 trips, and the A/C compressor would not kick in, no matter how many times I turned it on and off and fiddled with the controls. Finally, on the way home from the 3rd trip, it magically decided to work again. Worked again on Sunday, and again today, no problems at all.

I'm ready to move on.

Hmmm. I don't know if I should be worried but I'm still stuck at the determining your elegibility step since 10/14... Is this where others are stuck and waiting too?

Yeah, but I'm not nice. Also, it drove me nuts when I had a small business and random non-customers would come in asking to have things notarized.

Probably going to go to the UPS store and pay $10 to have them notarize it.

I am still at this step too - if I login, I see green checks next to each of my documents, but nothing else. Regardless of when your documents were accepted, the earliest they must have an offer to you is 20 business days from November 1. With weekends and the holidays, that is 12/1. Now, others are getting offers sooner than that, but there is no requirement that happen.

Also, VW has acknowledged they are behind, so it may be even a bit longer than that. Frustrating, but nothing else to do except wait.

Did anyone else get an offer via snail mail from Mini? Was in my mailbox today, $500 off only for owners of VW / Audi. Did not mention TDI or buyback, just owners of a VW or Audi.

I would like to get this over with, now that I've decided to go forward as quickly as I can instead of waiting to 2018.

Got my offer notarized at UPS. It was only $5 for the notary fee. They used an embossed seal and I took a pencil lead on its side to darken it so it would scan. Submitted to VW and waiting.

I wish! The profit goes into the "payback of bridge loans to float the sale of the old house" fund.

Not as fun, but very significant nevertheless.

Alright - just had the letter notarized by a notary in our office and uploaded it to the claims site. Selected the EFT option which is supposed to allow for a quicker appointment.

I also looked at the mileage calculation - we've driven the wagon so little that as long as I keep from driving it another 600 miles, I bumped up into the next tier, for another $500!

I'm curious about that. Does the offer include a contingency for changing tiers, or, once you sign it, you're locked into a fixed price?

Depending on the timing, my car may drop (gain?) a tier since I'm not using it. I put ~4,500 miles on it in the first three weeks I owned it, which dropped it down by ~$500, but I'm hoping to get that back by not using it now.

The paragraph below the offer amount states that it is contingent on actual mileage at the time of turn-in. It speaks of how you can continue to drive an average of 1,000 miles/month without reducing the offer amount. I only assume it works the other way too.

Looked at the TDIClub spreadsheet. For the more recent submissions, looks like it is taking about 11 days from the time people turn in signed settlement docs for them to be able to schedule a return date.

I can believe it's backed up. I received my offer email on Sunday, 11/27, but it was dated 11/22.

I'm now at 49 hours and waiting.. lol

Correct. I've received my offer, signed/notarized my acceptance, uploaded those documents. Now, they review, basically to make sure the signatures are in the right place. Then, I should receive email notification to return to website to schedule turn in.

There are some very strange stories showing up over at TDIClub. One person, the buyback representative told him she could not accept his VW because the mileage was not exactly the same as on the offer. He explained to her how that really worked, she called home, and then was able to proceed. But she (the buyback representative) literally thought the mileage had to match exactly or you could not proceed with the buyback.
