Got a black on black limited ultimate taxed, titled, taged, etc over the curb for $27.4k...Dealer also threw in 1 yr scheduled maintaince, tire rotation, and other goodies.
Only trouble is that I've had it for 6 weeks and have only 120 miles...Too busy working to drive it for fun...

hmmm... Sounds like a pretty good deal, 101659! What part of the country are you in? :confuse:

Tampa...I own 3 Hyundai's now...Santa Fe, Sonata, and new Azera I'm pretty much sold..Got the Santa Fe in '01, the Sonata in '02 and the Azera in Feb '06...

Tampa, eh? Sister lives in Sarasota...

What's you color preference on the Azera? I've looked at the "Black on Black", but decided it just wouldn't 'work' here in South Carolina. Just will get too hot too often, IMHO! ;)

Everybody has some family in Florida!!! With the rear window shade and tinted glass the b on b isn't bad.of course we run the a/c year around...I had previous cars like that..the Golden Biege on beige and the Silver on grey are both attractive...You may even get to use the heated seats!!
  • chilliwackchilliwack Member Posts: 189
That means you got it for 25.4K before taxes, etc (rough est) and did you get loyalty rebate? Nice work. These cars were sitting around unnoticed 6 weeks ago.

Pat, thank you so much, page after page was getting awful redundant

Any idiot needing bluetooth and a phone while driving really does need to consider the crash test ratings.

I HATE those idiots who think they need to be talking on a phone while doing 65 mph or more.
    Talking about crap anyway.

Or are these the people who think they are being so much more productive driving, talking, checking e-mail, voicemail and maybe watching some broadband video at the same time.

Hope they all crack into a brick expressway wall - 1 less idiot on the road. :surprise:

I always liked it when June said to Ward "Ward you were awfully hard on the beaver last night" - and Ward just had that sly grin on his face..... ;)

Hey, pull up post # 767 from Gallent. Pictures there of a German owned Grandeur (Azera). The pictures are marvelous, well done and take notice of:
    1. Backup sensors
    2. Grill appears to be black behind the chrome front edges
    3. The front end between the fog lights appears to be black
    4. Lights on the front fender between the door and wheel well
    5. There may be more I didn't notice
We wish some of these were available in the states.

The owners manual isn't clear to me on this, can someone help?
When playing a single disc if you press the rdm (random) button the songs on that disc play randomly.
I'm under the impression that if you hold the rdm button for more than 1 second you will hear a 'beep', I haven't heard the 'beep'. If this 'beep' happens does the system then play 'all' of the loaded disc's randomly with each selection change? I'm hoping the answer is 'yes', if this is true what did you do to make it happen?

On the same subject, we set the volumn at 10, bass 5, mid 5, treb 5 and seem to have a bass sound/vibration like it's overpowered. When we try the eq button it may lesson the sound but may also smuck up the song. Any ideas? Do I go back to the dealer?

Auto door locks, much discussion, my dealer reprogrammed mine to 'lock' when foot is on brake and gear selector is moved to 'drive' vs. locking at 10 to 12 mph, [non-permissible content removed] for tat I guess cause I still lock immediately upon entry.

We have the powder white pearl, beige interior, ultimate package. We just tinted the windows as dark as legal limit allows and it's absolutly beautiful and draws lots of attention.

We looked at the sights from post on mud guards.
Hyundai parts were $26.77 for front and $26.77 for rear with shipping $65.47
    Autowebaccessories.com were $42.48 for front/rear set plus $8.17 shipping = $50.65.
For those who bought and installed, please provide some feedback and a picture or two if you can. Thank you
Is there a cheaper deal out there?

Yeah I hate those idiots who think they need to be talking to the person sitting next to them while driving 65 mph or more.

Haven't used Costco, but you will probably find that all the Limited's will have the wind deflector...I had the dealer remove mine before delivery...The list price for it is $80

You can remove the sunroof deflector yourself, 2 screws, just brackets, no holes or adhesive involved.

    Hi,
Took my Azera into the local Hyundai "Quick Express" to get its first oil change.
The oil plug is easily accessible from underneath.
The Filter is on top of the engine under the engine cover.
Remove the combination of nuts/bolts 6 off to remove the cover.
Now standing at the front looking rearward, the filter is on the RHS, and an be seen by a black cap roughly old oil filter size.
The Hyundai tech had no problem removing the cap by hand and changed the filter cartridge.
On installation he couldn't get the Cap "O" Ring to seat properly by hand.
    *****************************
He said to be careful with the oil filter cap as it can crack if undue force is used to fit/remove....take care DIYers
    *****************************
To get it to seat he used a special tool.

Also I got the Hyundai Tech to silence the overspeed buzzer....took 20mins and now all is quiet in the cabin at all speeds.

    Hi,
I did an internet search and it appears that USA dash kit manufacturers only do Azera in OEM colours.
But, the same companies based overseas are able to offer Azera Left or Right hand drive and in any of the fake woods, solid colours and fake/real carbon.
The kits take 2-3 weeks as they are "laser cut" in Japan on an individual order basis...not off the shelf.
Also getting the Chrome pillar kit and a Rear Spoiler with Brake LEDs.
    Good luck

Thank you... it's about time, taking up all this forum for such nit picking is ridiculous. Everyone has opinions, and most of them are different from yours, mine, and the next guy or gal, and we all should recognize it, and live with it, without trying to either interpret or analyze it.
  • ratledgeratledge Member Posts: 233
Hey! I'm permanently disabled (back), so I'll ALWAYS be using the heated seats... :P

Maybe black-on-black with tinted windows would be the bomb? My family would think I had joined the bad guys though (I work at the DoJ). ;)

What exactly is an "overspeed buzzer"?
  • snakeweaselsnakeweasel Member Posts: 19,592
Its an alarm that sounds when a preselected speed is exceeded. On a car it might be hard wired to the tach and go off as the RPM's get near redline. Or it may be on the speedometer where one can select a speed that they don't want to exceed and it will go off when you exceed that speed.

I don't think any cars have those these days.

But then again he might be talking about something else.

I was wondering, too. Last time I remember seeing one was my mom's '64 Buick wagon... :surprise:

My aunt had one on one of her cars back in the 60's. One time we were traveling across Indiana and she usually had the thing set to 60 MPH. Before we left we reset it to 80 MPH, she didn't seem to notice.

All cars "Here" must have an overspeed buzzer/chime that sounds when 120kh (70mph?) is reached.
As the Azera cabin is so quiet, when the buzzer/chime starts it is loud and very iritating.
It is inside one of the modules behind the dash.
It's the same buzzer/chime as "Door open with key in ignition".
  • snakeweaselsnakeweasel Member Posts: 19,592
My that would be annoying here, get on an interstate and do 70 MPH and watch everyone whiz right by you. Many times around here I find myself doing 80+ just to keep up with traffic.

Message #767 of 1721, pictures taken by galent

The Grandeur is :confuse: equal to the Limited?
Says V6 on the trunk where Limited goes, maybe a 3.3L
    No chrome strip in bumpers
    Different chrome strip on doors
    Has beige leather

    Enjoy

I have Azera LTD. Ultimate with 2000 miles. Car is used almost exclusively in city. I am only getting 16 MPG. ( regular gas) How are other owner doing? My old Q45 gets 17.5 mpg (premium gas) with same type usage.
  • slo5ohslo5oh Member Posts: 9
Has anyone actually had their Azera set to have the seat move back when the key is pulled out of the ignition? That would satisfy me since the memory can't be set to use before you enter the car. Thanks for any help! Dick G.

FloBob, My trip to work is 1/2 stop & go and the other open highway (about 35 mi. each way) and I get a little over 20MPG. When we drive to Fla from NY I've been getting 27-28, which is better than the Taurus we've been using for the past 10 years. :shades:

I average a little over 16 in the city. I haven't done a lot of highway driving, but times I did, I was getting around 26. I have 1200 miles on the car. The dealer rep told me that full efficiency won't be realized until at least 3000 miles.
  • jim101jim101 Member Posts: 252
The dealer programed the EZ out, took like 5 minutes. It's really cool and we like it.

The only problem, if it is one, getting the Azera key into the ignition is or seems to be tricky/testy and the seat moves to the last setting when the key touches the ignition, so if you don't get it in on first try you get to go back and forth until you do.

Does anyone else have this problem and/or have it fixed, if so what was done?
  • jim101jim101 Member Posts: 252
From 15 to 85 miles on the odometer, all interstate we got 24.6 mpg cruising between 55 to 83 mph, no buzzer of any kind.
From 85 to the current 225 miles on the odometer the ave has dropped to 19.7 mpg, all city driving with some giddy up go from one or two stop lights, it's all so cool
Still haven't consumed that first tank full

I think the 3,000 mile thing is some smoke and mirrors because they don't know but the statement keeps you happy till then

    For the DIY's

HyundaiUSA gave me the wheel lug torque requirements today,
    65.7 to 79.5 ft lbs

I called several Hyundai service departments at local dealers, NONE of them knew, kinda scary
What do they torque your wheels to when they balance or rotate? I hope it's not up near 100 ft lbs or higher

I removed the wheels today to clean the wheel wells and the inside of the wheels. Actually could have lifted the factory fingerprints and discovered 'who' actually put tires on rims and balanced. They spray a black substance on the inside of the wheel. Some of it ends up on the front part of the 10 spokes along with some small round sticker residue.
I used mineral spirits on a shop towel to clean/remove the black residue, it came off real easy, then rinsed with soap and water and cleaned the inside of the tire. Reinstall torque was set on 79.5 ft lbs

My first car, a '66 Coronet, had 14 of these "features."

And I am not old. Age is all in the mind.
  • edsofaruedsofaru Member Posts: 31
Today was the fist time that I washed my white Azera, and it was a joyful experience.

While I was cleaning the wipers I noticed that the wiper on the passenger side touches the hood when it is lifted. I am not sure if this is a problem that everyone has ... Can you please check if your car has the same issue before I go to the dealer to place a claim? :confuse:

Thanks in advanced for your response. :)

    Regards
    Edgar

No, there is not a problem, that is the way they are designed. I think there is a TSB on the HMA Service site about it.
  • frazeefrazee Member Posts: 90
I am running 16-17 mpg on complete local also. Parkway at 65 with no a/c at around 27.
  • frazeefrazee Member Posts: 90
YES....EZ out is programmed to pull seat about 3/4 of the way back and retract steering wheel full amount for easiest exist and entry.

So far that, the door lock/unlock and the "limp home" codes are the three items I have been able to discover that can be "programmed."

Thanks for your reponse. Would you be so kind to spell what is a TSB and HMA? Can you please provide the links?

    Thanks a lot!

Mine was a 70 Coronet, I loved that car. But I only counted 12 features. I wonder if we misremembered of that some features were dropped over 4 years.

10-4 Edgar, seems to be across the board, passenger wiper hitting hood.
Learned a temporary fix for that some years back. Take a piece of black plastic electrical tape, mmmm, about 2 inches long should do it. Place it on the wiper where it makes contact with the hood. Reduces the likely hood of chipping the hood paint. Tape is real close in color and is difficult to see and it will last for quite some time.

The '70 was a new design and also my dad's '66 was a very basic model, thus things like vinyl floor covering vs. carpet. No radio even.
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
It took dealer about 5 minutes( no charge)to set feature. Seat goes about 3/4 way back and steering wheel moves up. Note that when key is placed in ignition seat moves to previously set position and can't be stopped until it completes cycle.
  • floridabob1floridabob1 Member Posts: 1,190
Hyundai service manager at local dealership claims that the engineering department is attempting to determine a way to have memory seats work without key being in ignition.
It shouldn't be too difficult, as almost every other manufacturer that offers memory seats does not have this rediculous requirement.
  • lhalstromlhalstrom Member Posts: 12
Thanks for the info Jim101. The owners manual has the torque setting you mentioned too. I wondered what those round residue spots were on each wheel. :)
  • slo5ohslo5oh Member Posts: 9
I discovered the same thing the first time I washed my car ( also pearl white ). My guess is that it's just a design oversight, I'll live with it. I know that Caddy one year , I think in the 80s, required the rear bumper to be removed to replace the taillight bulb.
