EDIT - you are getting just over 7% off sticker, which is good for BMW.

Is it worth purchasing the tire warranty on a leased 2017 430 GC? Vehicle has run flats. Also, how does manufacturer warranty work on the tires since they would be brand new?

Not recommended.

Tires have a separate warranty than the vehicle.

I typically see comments about a selling price of 7% off MSRP is a good deal. I'm hoping to clarify a little. Is it 7% off MSRP (including destination charge only) or 7% off MSRP (including destination charge, MACO, and training fee) ? And typically MACO and training are about $500 is that right?

I am not sure if this is the correct forum or board but would the 7% also apply to used cars? I am looking at two vehicles and the client advisor said he cant budge on the price over email... Is that true? what do you think?

The 7% only applies to new cars. Each used car is unique.

I'm trying to see if it makes financial sense to lease a 2017 430i coupe (36/12K) in Texas. I have a 2012 Acura TSX with 52K on it (fully paid for), and looks like it's valued at $12-13K. I'm considering trading it in and having a one/single pay lease. I've checked the edmunds basic lease calculator that can incorporate trade-in value but it spits out a monthly payment instead of the remaining cash lump sum for single pay. Can you point me in the right direction?
I can also share details of a publicly available offer from a local dealership for this car model, but before I started negotiating with them I wanted to know what cashflow I had/needed.
I'm a leasing newbie so would appreciate your expertise/patience.

No information on what the one-pay MF discount is, if one even exists.

A one pay lease works like any other lease - calculate the monthly payment, then multiply by the lease term.

WAYYYY under mileage.. by about 20,000 miles. I leased when I was driving more, now fly quite a bit for my job. Any chance at recouping some of the miles I paid for that went unused?

The only model BMW offers 7500 mile leases for is the 7-series. For everything else, 10K is the minimum number of miles allowed.

No incentives.

You won't recoup the miles you paid for and didn't use. However, you may have equity in your car. Find out the trade value and compare is to the residual value.

thank you Michaell! when you quote a "base" money factor...is that for someone with stellar credit or average credit, or what? I guess I'm trying to understand what (aside from the dealer trying to make more money) would drive up the quoted money factor. let's say credit score in 725 - 750 range.

That score is top tier, for BMW.

The numbers we quote are the base rate for top tier credit.

Dealer can mark it up .00040 for extra profit.

Lower credit scores will add a surcharge onto the MF.

Tax is not a negotiable line item. If it were, I'd be negotiating every time I went to a store!

Texas does have this annoying practice of applying sales tax to the entire selling price of the car, however. This makes leasing there more expensive than in states where the tax amount is applied to the monthly payment.

I have heard, from other posters, that some dealerships in Texas will offer a 'tax rebate', but I don't have any details on it. Not sure if it's a brand thing or a dealer thing.

The residual is based on the bottom line number of the window sticker (base MSRP + options + destination)

Kyfdx - the base sales tax in Texas is 6.25%, but cities/jurisdictions can add incremental charges. It's 8.25% in Dallas.

That is correct - the residual percentage is fixed, and applied to the variable MSRP of two different in stock units.

The $55K car will be cheaper to lease than the $61K car, all else being equal (discount from sticker).

5% off sticker isn't enough - shoot for 7% (or more, if you're feeling ambitious).

And, the MF is marked up - base MF is .00140. Politely tell the dealer that you won't sign a deal where the MF inflated.

The MF bump from the base of .00140 is adding about $19/mo to your quote.

Usually, 7% off MSRP is a good target selling price for BMW.

Just curious but is 7% off MSRP something a dealer should balk at? Or is it a pretty reasonable offer? I offered a price 7% off for a 2017 430 and got the response that "at that level" of discount he could offer me some of the remaining 2016s. Just want to get a sense for how reasonable 7% is. Looks like it's roughly invoice pricing but I suppose safe to assume dealer would still make money off a sale at invoice, right?

rxracer1-I am just a consumer, but I said I wanted 7% off a X5 last week, my sales person said we only do 5%, so I said I wanted 4600 off the car, (7% )and he did not blink, he wrote 4,600 off the car! Just thought I would share my experience. Basically, next car I am negotiating 8-9% and see where I get. LOL

Dealers won't agree to a deal if they aren't making money. Trouble is, with all the hidden programs and such, it's hard to know exactly where that is.

Lots of BMW dealers out there - only takes one to meet your numbers. Shop around.
