$4500 up front is an awful lot - we'd suggest limiting that to just the first payment and DMV costs. Roll all the other fees into the lease payment.

Consensus seems to be that 7% off MSRP is a good target. Does that hold true for cars that are ordered as opposed to in inventory? The specific combination I want is typically unavailable and I would like to avoid paying for features I neither need nor want.

It's always easier to make a deal for a car that's on the lot. 7% off is a general rule of thumb. It's a good number to shoot for.

I am curious if anyone knows about how lease offers are applied when moving to different trim models. If BMW FS advertises a cap cost reduction with a specific down, fees, etc on a specific MSRP and you want additional packages, can that cap cost reduction be applied or is this totally at the dealers discretion?

For 2017 model years, options and packages do not affect the residual.

For the new 2018 models, there are residual adjustments for certain packages.

You'd have to adjust the calculations if you want a car that is more expensive than the one in the ad. The residual and MF would be the same.

Hi, just leased my 2016 BMW 435i with a good deal. The dealer offered me $1285 for the Tire and Wheel package. The car has R20 wheels so I think I may need that package. I was quite late when I was doing all the paperwork, so I signed 2 contracts, 1 with the package and another without the package. And the dealer asked me to call back soon with the decision. My questions are,

1. Is the price negotiable? Since I already signed, is it still doable to deduct the number? I was told the package is only addable at the lease start date.
2. The dealer added it into my capital cost which means I need to pay ~$200 for the interest of the package, and the dealer told me it works as-is. Is that true?

I feel like there were some tricks there.

Pretty sure I can buy a set of 20" tires for $1285. (or close)

Buying insurance to cover small losses is usually a loser, over time. (I could have bought a 2 year policy to cover the steam iron I bought at Target for $5, but the iron was only $35. If it dies, I'll just go get a new one).

My local dealer is adverting this sale price online for a 2017 430i X drive GC. I was originally quoted this same price for 12k/36 w/ 60% residual and MF 0.00146 = $586/month. I qualify for a corporate fleet discount on the MF to 0.00126 and a $1500 lease incentive. For some reason they are telling me my monthly will drop to $560 with the new adjusted MF. Am I wrong to assume that they should apply this additional $1500 to the cap cost reduction at the same advertised sale price? Thus my monthly payment exclusive of tax should be $526.67? One dealer told me they alway offer fleet discount pricing to everyone and this is reflected in the advertised price, although that is not noted in the ad. That can't be true, right? Thanks

To me, it sounds a bit shady.

Check with another dealer and see if you get the same pricing.

What is a cooperate fleet incentive and MF discount? Is this a rare find?
