If the selling price was the CAP cost, I get $583/mo.+tax.
Must be some CAP cost reduction in that $2468 upfront amount.

Looks like a lot better deal than your numbers would imply, if that $569/mo includes tax.

Looks pretty good. Ask for the adjusted CAP cost, and a reconciliation of that number to the selling price.

It's about $425/mo, with just $1000 due at signing.

That's a decent deal. You won't be able to do that well on a new one. I'd just ask for more off on this one.

Actually the correct adjusted ant they gave me is
    selling price $36628
    adjust capitalized cost 32,911.42
    2500 rebate
    3000 drive off

when inuse the lease calculator I can't get omg matching 360. Is the calculation correct? This is what they say is best deal.

do you think I can negotiate brand new one with same msrp forgot of 400 including tax with same down of 3000?

What you don't have is the adjusted residual, taking into account the current mileage. That's why you can't get the numbers to match up.

You can't get a brand new one for that.

    Good Evening,
    I have a offer on the table for a 2017 430i  XDrive 36/10k. MF: .00130 / RV 61%
    MSRP $54,4995.00
    Cap. $47,651.33
Monthly payment w/taxes (NY 8.75%) rolled in
    $569.
    Out of pocket $1890.50 ( $925 bank fee,$97 DMV fee, $299 processing (Maryland) fee, 1st month $569)

I asked the dealer to provide a break down of sales tax that were rolled into payments. He stated the sale tax $2183.70 - however, he is having a hard time breaking down the sales tax to me it just does not make sense.
When I do the sales tax with (NYC @8.75%) I get $1744.74.

I must add, I am procuring this car from a Maryland dealer, and I currently reside in NY.

Rebates are taxable, as well, as they are used as CAP reduction. Also, the $925 bank fee. Possibly, the $299 dealer fee.

With rebates subtracted from ththe MSRP I get $6944.00 (rebates / incentives) when I calculate: ($569 * 36 + $925 + $300) = I get less that what the dealer suggest is tax should be.

Am I missing something here with calculating the taxes?

You have to separate rebates from dealer discounts. An actual rebate is also taxed. I think that is what you are missing. Looks like you have a rebate for corporate/fleet and possibly one from BMW? Rebates are applied as CAP cost reductions and taxed accordingly.

Generally speaking, If I put down the max number of MSD's possible would a dealer still require/want a down payment?

Down payments mean nothing to the dealer. They'll get the full sale price, either way.

    Urgent help would be appreciated!

I have a good friend who works at BMW and we've been talking for months. I kind of implicitly trusted him, but am leasing a car tomorrow (no alternative - about to travel) - and he just sent his lease offer.

I have my own opinion, which is that my kindness is being taken advantage of - what are everyone's thoughts?

($3,000 down - which I'm not going to do)

    MSRP $53,315.00
    $49,240 selling price

    $6,575.00 savings rebates
    $431.50 Gov fees
    $699.50 Proc/Doc fee
    $50,164.99 Gross Cap Cost
    $46,677.35 Adjusted Cap Cost
    $30,989.00 Residual

This is quoting a $618-$628 monthly lease at this price. DEMO / LOANER vehicle - 3.5-4k miles are on it.

    Really appreciate the insight,

    W

.00150 and 61%, less .25/mile for the demo miles (roughly $1000)

With the supplied MSRP and adjusted cap cost, I get $585/mo with 6% tax added in.

Not that great of a 'friends and family' deal, if you ask me. Looks like the MF is marked up.

I'm really frustrated by this - just called into a random dealer and this is what I got on another executive loaner (4,297 mi).

    MSRP $53,305

? $46,340 (? actually not sure on their final sales price)

__ savings / rebates / money factor / gross cap etc. unknown

    $31,033.00 Residual

    @ first + inception ($1,022.66)

Quote: $566 / mo. plus tax.

Got this quote today for a demo vehicle (Chicago area, 36/10K lease term). Is it a good deal?

    MSRP: $63,540
    Rebate: $1,000
Discounted selling price after rebate: $57,640
    Term: 36 months
    Mileage: 10,000 per year
Down payment: $0 cap cost reduction
Due at signing: first payment + tax + plates (new $99 or transfer $25) + doc. fee $172.15 + title $95 + electr. registration $25
    Monthly payment: $757

Looks pretty close.. did they give you the adjusted CAP cost? (including taxes and acquisition fee)
Just got this updated quote today. What do you think?

    MSRP: $63,540
    Rebate: $1,000
Discounted selling price after rebate: $57,640
    Term: 36 months
    Mileage: 10,000 per year
Down payment: $0 cap cost reduction
    Residual: $38,134.40 (61%)
    Money factor: 0.00190
Tax: Chicago and state tax included in the monthly payment
    Adjusted cap cost: $61,685.41
Due at signing: first payment + plates (new $99 or transfer $25) + doc. fee $172.15 + title $95 + electr. registration $25 + tax on the rebate $92.50
    Monthly payment: $912*
I get $828/mo with those numbers. What is the city sales tax rate? State sales tax is collected up front, and likely rolled into the adjusted cap cost you provided.

MF markup is costing you over $40/mo

Hi Thanks again for your posts.

    CA.

I'm wondering if I should just wait until August for better rebates but this happens to be the last 2017 model so I'm thinking they might be able to lower this more but I want to be realistic to see how far I can go.

    Would appreciate the help!

No way to know for sure, but I doubt the incentives are going to go up. As you noted, higher incentives won't do much good, if there are no cars left.

To get that price, it looks like another $5500 discount from MSRP, besides the rebates. That would be a pretty good deal.

Only a 5% discount from sticker; you should target 7%

    .00150 and 61%

With your MSRP and adjusted cap, I get $590/mo plus tax.

We do not recommend any sort of down payment or cap reduction on a lease - limit the out of pocket to first payment and DMV costs only.

    What state is this?

    Hi.
PA. 10% sale tax. Would that mean that 649/month with zero down is a reasonable counter offer?

I'm so close to going to the dealership today and getting it but my current lease doesn't end until August & originally I didn't want a loaded 440i like that... But considering it's roughly 10% off MSRP - it's bugging me!

Do you think it's only because that $2500 discount?
I'm wondering if that $2500 discount is going to be offered for 2018 models in August......

Hard to predict what will happen to the 2018 model year incentives. I suppose it's largely dependent on how much 2017 inventory is still on the dealer lots.

I have 2 options here and need you guys' help please. TIA

    2017 440i 36/10k, 0.00151/61%

    Msrp: 59,340
    Rebates : 3000 + 500 (corp fleet)
    Doc fees: 250
    Destination: 925
    Tax rate 7%
    I am targeting <$600 with 0 down.
7% less is around 55k, but that comes to around $650 I believe.

What's the lowest I go on 2017s at this point when 2018s are out already.

    2nd option
    2017 430i drive, 36/10k, 0.00151/61%
    MSRP: 56,315
    Rebates : 3000 + 500 (corp fleet)
    Doc fees: 250
    Destination: 925
    Tax rate 7%
    Selling price: targeting <$52k
for 52k monthly comes to 607.

How far can I realistically go ? 10% is 50,500 roughly, which gives me 563 I think.

    Thanks!
