Cali and I am being offered a 2017 Q5 premium plus model with tech and season of audi selection wheels, MSRP of $48,350 ad Gross Cap Cost of $44,471.32 with fees, taxes, and Audi lease-end protection included. Lease would be 36 months, 12k a year. From what I was told, bonus cash and loyalty incentive will be applied to cover 1st month and DMV fees along with cap cost reduction so it would be ZERO due at drive-off and monthly payments of 566 including tax. If we want to exclude the lease-end protection, it would be 534 including tax. Is this deal good? Is Lease-End protection worth it?

I wonder if your LEWP protection raises the residual by 1%?

Don't think I want to pay $1150 insurance to cover lease end charges.

Alternatively, I'd drop that and add the AudiCare maintenance plan.

Thank you. I am still debating on the LEWP as I have a one year old who will definitely make a mess as she grows older and I also live in Los Angeles where curb rash and bumper rash from parallel parking is fairly common. Also with a 12K a year lease, if I time and play this right, this should cover cost on potential excess wear on tires. I'm just not sure whether or not the LEWP does truly cover up to 10k and we will just be able to turn in the car without excess fees.

Sure, it's a valid ask. In fact, that's what we recommend as the only up front cost. Save the cap reduction and have a slightly higher payment.

VA charges sales tax against the entire selling price - if you aren't paying it up front, it will be added to the negotiated price, as will all the other fees.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost is, and how they got that number from the negotiated price.
