Is it possible for you guys to talk in layman terms.

as in you can negotiate and get the following deal

    - 12K miles a year
    - 36 months
    - zero down
    - 199 a month (including taxes)

    something simple please ???

I am going to a Hyundai dealership tomorrow by my house and not sure of what i should expect. I do know of a broker thats giving the Sonata for 179 a month with zero down payment (Plus Taxes and Fees) on 10K miles a year.

Any assistance / insight will be much apprecaited.

I had emailed the Hyundai dealership and this is their offer. So what can I negotiate on.

I have no idea what Lease Cash is. Does this mean they will give me 2750 a month ??

    Please advise
  • tonyg2016tonyg2016 midwest, usaPosts: 721
first, is that a sport with the premium package?
sell price is too high; should be 400 lower
money factor appears to be .00073 when it should be .00055; why the markup?
the 247 quote is without tax, doc and dmv fees; it's closer to 280/month when those are included

lease cash is a HMA to dealer incentive to move/sell cars. The dealer can elect to pass it on to you; only those with knowledge of lease cash know it's available. i thought it was 2000 but they are showing it as 2750

you can find an SE model for about 23k; what do you NEED?

If there has been a mid-month update, we wouldn't know about it.

I just found out today that VW is offering an extra $500 cash on the Jetta through 9/6. I was at the dealer, though. Doubt we'll get any documentation on it.

I just got off the phone with the Hyundai dealership in the city.

They have offered me the following

    12K / 36 Months
    561 payment today (DMV + 1st Month)
35 Payments of 239 (includes Tax and everything) this is the full payment.

what do you think ?? he said its the best price he can give and he can have the car ready in 1 hour.

this is for the 2016 Hyundai Sonata.

We don't have any MF or incentive information yet, from Hyundai for September.

    24/10 residual - 58%
    36/10 residual - 53%

No 7500 mile leases available from Hyundai.

No real difference .. just pay attention to all the numbers, as always.

    36 mo./12k miles
    Gross Capital Cost 23,110.06
    2000 lease cash
    Adjusted Capitalized Cost 21110.06
    Residual Value 13533.55
36 payments at $229.86- TTL rolled in. (Made first payment at signing)

    How does that compare?

need more info to evaluate the deal:
    msrp
    money factor
    residual %
    tax rate
    fees included where?

assuming msrp of ~25.3k, it sounds reasonable at first glance...
  • romo9romo9 Buda, TXPosts: 14
    Money Factor:0.00053
    MSRP: 25,535
    Tax rate is 6.25%
    residual 53%
    Sales Tax: 1189
License, Title and Reg Fees: 301
    Acq Fee: 595
    Austin, TX

  • tonyg2016tonyg2016 midwest, usaPosts: 721
i get 229/mo before taxes and fees using 22515 as the sell price. you must be missing something in the details...

So in the paperwork lists sale price at 21025. With ttl and acquisition fee it's 23120.06. Then they put in 2000 lease cash to get to 21110.06 adjusted capitalized cost.

Im trying to figure it out too. I just told them what price id lease for and they went from $300 to $230 at end of month.

That's a heck of a lease price in Texas, where the sales tax is applied to the entire selling price.

I test drove the Sonata Sport and liked it a lot. I went with a Jetta as I didn't want two Hyundai leases in a row.

    MSRP: 28330
    Cap cost : 22600 (Pre trade-in)
    Trade-in 2500 (A little under, but I don't want hassle)
    Adjust Cap Cost: 20,695
    MF: 00073
    RF: 55%

    No downpayment (other than trade)

Monthly: 179 (Actually 207 based TX taxes on full price being rolled in)

Northwest Florida: 2017 Sonata Limited (2.4) with packages.  I feel like I'm getting a bad deal (or maybe I'm just not calculating things correctly).  Here's what the dealer has said:

    MSRP: $33,455.00
    Discount: $1,462.09
    Rebate: $2,500.00
    Adjusted Price: $29,493.00
    Doc Fee: $499
    Taxes: $215.60
    Transfer Fees: $293.75
    Net Price: $30,501.35

    36 month/12,000
MF: 0.0011 (said this was tier 1)
    Residual: 55%

with $500 down payment is $442

Is this adding up and I'm just crazy, or is this off?

    thanks.

  • tonyg2016tonyg2016 midwest, usaPosts: 721
go with your gut - that is a horrible quote

discount on high end models should be 10% or so (including ridiculous FL doc fees)
lease cash is 2000 + fall cash of 500 gets you to 2500 so that is ok
from a prior post mf is 0.00073, so 0.00110 is a markup

    find another dealer

I get $299/mo with those numbers, as well.

Confirm the adjusted cap cost - it's likely there are fees and such in there.

And, the dealer can mark up the MF for extra profit.

I am jealous of some of these payments you are getting. I have tried three dealerships and all have been in the $400s. They told me it wasn't possible when I told them of some of the leases I have been seeing. Am I crazy thinking I can get a Sonata for $280ish a month?

I would say (from my own experience as a first time leaser but long time bargain hunter) depends on the trim level, area of the country and if the dealership is making its sales quotas for the month.

I knew with leases you shouldn't talk payments, but I also knew going in that for the trim level of car I was seeking, I wasn't seeking the normal lease deal.

The deal I got was on the final day of the month and they were trying to hit their monthly sales mark, so I had leverage. I really didn't expect them to meet my price and I was looking at other cars when they texted they would meet my price if I could do the deal that day. They even reluctantly threw in a rewards program that includes (among other things) 7 oil changes that should more than cover the 36k miles of the lease. So in theory I think I have to pay for an air and engine filter at some point and I am good on maintenance too.

I didn't really understand or believe in the end of the month best time to buy approach until I was contacted by four different car makers wanting to make a deal for vehicles and trim levels not usually in the price range I was at. I was expecting it to be a 2016 closeout as well, so even happier to get a 2017.

Good luck and hold strong! If they end up meeting your price post the terms here and the gurus/mods can confirm for you if it's solid terms.
