Here is what i got from Las Vegas Honda Findlay Northwest
2017 Accord Ex. Selling price was 23k
Tax $1950
Doc Fee 500
Title 30
So OTD about $25500.
Bob was the guy there who is quite nice and pleasant to deal with, even went all the way out to pick me up to the dealer.
Congrats and enjoy your new EX!
2017 Accord Sport CVT Mod Steel Metallic
- MSRP of car purchased
- Sale price without accessories
- Cost of dealer accessories and floor mats
- Cost of 7 years of oil change
- Doc fees
- Any other fees
Btw, MSRP for the Touring is either $35, 805 or $35,665 (including destination). Invoice price is $32,809 (with destination fee).
What part of the country are you located?
2017 EX-L V6 Sedan - 26,231 with an MSRP of about 31730
Doc Fee - 349
Fees(?) - 175
OTD Price - 26,755
I will have to pay tax and registration in NY later when I do it myself.
Tax (8.875%) - about 2,300
Registration and Title - $75
What does everybody think of these numbers?
Getting $2500 below invoice in NY would be similar to the MA deal of @$2989 below Invoice.
Your deal in MA is Excellent (a top price in the country ) @$2989 below invoice.(Minus the $349 doc fee charge ) Not many if ANY dealer in NY will come close to this deal.
If you could secure a 2k below Invoice price in NY with a $75 doc fee opposed to $349 doc in MA your deal would be $715 dollars more to stay and buy in NY..

I received a quote from one dealer who clearly listed that "savings", although their sale price was still higher compared to a few other quotes. As far as additional savings, the only other incentives are $500 for recent college grads and another $500 for U.S. military and their spouses.
Hope this helps.
I would recommend also getting a quote from Honda Cars of Boston. They have one of the lowest doc fees I have seen ($298).
Honda Cars of Boston is a excellent dealership .

You could also reach out to Atamian Honda in Tewksbury. Their doc fees are $399, but they do have very competitive pricing.
Good luck.
Although Touring models have not been selling as much as the sport or other less expensive models, some dealers may not appear to budge too much on price this early in the month/year. I am also looking to purchase a 2017 Touring model, but if I cannot get a great deal on it (more than $3k below invoice) by the end of summer, I will probably wait for the release of 2018 models to see if any better deals can be had on the 2017 models. I am in no rush to buy, so worse case, I will just wait next year and purchase a 2018 Touring model (unless the redesign looks awful). However, having seeing pictures of the new 2018 Acura TSX I might be tempted to compare and contrast those two. I have still not made up my mind.
I just had a couple of questions for you ( I am just curious):
1. Do the dealers you are contacting have the Touring in your color combination? Dealers have very limited stock at hand.
2. Are you planning to trade in a car?
3. Are you planning to finance through HFS (Honda Financial Services)?
4. Are you looking to buy now or can you wait a few months?
5. Are you looking at other cars/models?
Answers to your questions
1. Do the dealers you are contacting have the Touring in your color combination? Dealers have very limited stock at hand. "Yes they do as I am not hung up on a specific color"
2. Are you planning to trade in a car? "I am not sure at this point"
3. Are you planning to finance through HFS (Honda Financial Services)? "More than likely, but I can buy for cash if the deal is right'.
4. Are you looking to buy now or can you wait a few months? " Like you, I have no issue waiting - or as you mentioned going for a 2018" If I do, I am hoping they have the blind spot monitoring on the 2018 model.
5. Are you looking at other cars/models?. I am also looking at the Acura too, but I am very impressed by what you get out of the higher end Honda. Looked at the Mazda 6, but it has a very loud engine. Looked at the Loaded Camry, but I don't think I want to go there. " I am also looking for a convertible for my wife and it will not be a sebring.... I liked the Audi A5, but after their Superbowl commercial, I will never buy from Audi. I like the Corvette Convertible, but my wife does not."
Thanks for responding.
As for me, I am looking for a silver exterior with gray interior, but all I have seen is silver with black interior. Only two dealers have the silver/black color combination and none of them have the lowest price at the moment. So it is just going to be a waiting game on my part.
BTW, Atamian and Honda Cars have the lowest price so far (in general).
Keep us updated on your search and post any other sales price you receive from dealers.
$ 2500 to 3000 below Invoice is where most very good deals will be in MA for April. Want a lower price your going to work for it . This again would be depending on dealer stock / sales quotas / incentive needs ) only you guys could answer this pricing question by contacting many dealers and negotiating on last days of every month.
Mike (blue mkn57 ) by late summer we should have some word and spy shots / details on the 2018 Accord then you could decide which year would be better.
@1sebringnow - When you call dealers tell each one that if financing thru them gets you that better deal you will finance vehicle thru them . 5k to 10k should get it done unless you want to finance more. Getting 3K below invoice in MA is really $2600 or $2700 below invoice price when considering your states high doc's.
Last 2 days of this month send out 15 or more emails to dealerships Internet mgr. or there team telling each dealer XXX price gets the sale today. Then sit back and negotiate till you hit or get close to your Target price. If your target price is not met............... try again next month since time is on your side and there's no rush.

$2X,XXX price of car
$xxx doc fee
$xxx reg fee
$X,XXX tax,
$xx,xxx Total price out the door.
That way, comments can be easily given on each item you might be paying for. It is after all your money..
Here is some pricing info on a base 4 cylinder EX-L. All prices include the destination fee of $875.
Btw, when listing your sale price leave out any dealer-add ons (if possible). It will help determine whether you are getting a good deal on the car.
Those options are $1000 each (I think).
You could do a lot better than your first OTD quote.. Get my recommend dealers below involved in the price wars. Shoot for a bottom line target price of $1500 below your models invoice price of ($29,152 ) at Worst... But try for a better deal . Please wait till the end of this month before you start negotiating . That gives you the best leverage to make your best deal with dealers.
Accord EXL, 4cyl, w/ Nav / Sen.. dealers invoice price =.....$29,152 this price included the 875 destination fee.

NY / NJ area target price $1500 to 2000 below invoice price. Email / call below dealers for pricing
New Rochelle , Friendly, Atlantic , Huntington . Sometimes Bay Ridge Honda in NY
NJ ................. Auto -Sport , Dch Paramus & Kay , Garden State, VIP , Madison , Joyce , Clinton , Honda of Tenafly
If you need A effective email message to your targeted dealers I will tell you how to word the email
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Email the dealer back and ask them to break down the deal listing doc fees, registration fees and any other fees such as dealer add-ons etc...
Going by brian125's numbers, your price is only (29,152-28,000) $1152 below invoice before doc fees. So not a good deal.
So if you add my numbers to your agreed selling price they would line up . This last deal if DMV fee's were added into the OTD price is around $1300 / 1400 below invoice price.
@jen33 let your phone and internet do your leg work on getting a final agreed sales price. It will save you valuable time.
Call / email all your targeted dealers in NY let each dealer know that for $500 less your best deal right now you buy today and will hold sale with a credit card deposit. Getting that better deal on April 14th wont happen . Since you cant wait till months end make your best deal this week.
Check back later.....@1sebringnow I'll post a quick email blast to all your targeted dealerships that cuts the BS and gets right to the point . What State........ or states are you considering buying in???
23 Telluride SX-P X-Line, 23 Camry XSE
Once your ready to buy figure on a Target price, and a bottom line that gets your business that day. Always start at the lowest price before adjusting target higher . First thing is do your Pre- Homework. That means calling each dealership ahead of time . Make a spread sheet. Dealer Info needed..... Internet mgr. name, #, and email . Dealers doc fee charge ? Once you have all dealerships in that area's info wait till the 2nd to last day of any month to send out your emails and direct calls to each dealerships internet manager. Counter each dealers doc fee charge by lowering your asking price to make it a wash on the bill of sale. Your initial negotiation calls is not making dealers give you the total OTD numbers yet . Your looking to nail down lowest agreed sales price 1st. OTD numbers are a secondary discussion which you know already.. (taxes, tags , doc fee ) and sometimes a few mysterious charges that may need disputing .

I just want to clear some misconception about what kind of deals you might be able to get and how much under invoice you should pay.
First off, the quotes for $3000 under invoice are for the Touring model. I doubt you will see such huge discounts on less expensive models like the LX or EX or even EX-L trims. When I bought my 2013 EX-L sedan 4 years ago, I paid $1400 under invoice in MA. That was considered a great deal at the time.
The best time to buy is at the end of the month or end of the quarter. Use some of the techniques described by @brian125 and others to negotiate your best deal. I am not sure what pricing is like in NJ, but when you start getting quotes make sure you get a price breakdown from dealers.
At this time of the year, you are not going to get anywhere close to $5K below invoice for a 2017 EX trim. If you are in no rush to buy, you might be able to get a great deal in December.
Good luck.
If you are not in a rush to lease, you might be able to land a better deal towards the end of the quarter, or at the end of the year when 2018 models are released. If you are looking to lease soon, wait till the end of the month before reaching out to dealers for quotes. Use some of the techniques outlined in this forum. Make sure for every quote you request, you know the sale price of the car, the doc fees, registration fees, and any additional fees (if applicable such as dealer add-ons, etc...). I am not sure what the market is like in NJ, but you also need to be realistic as far as pricing. You are not going to get $5k below invoice, even on a Touring model, this time of the year.
I hope this information helps anyone else reading this.
Good luck and post the best quote you receive when the end of the month is approaching.
BTW, check out the leasing forum here: https://forums.edmunds.com/discussion/41875/honda/accord/2017-honda-accord-lease-questions#latest
MSRP: $35,805 (includes destination fee)
Invoice price: $32,809
Sale price: $29,611 (included $1000 dealer finance cash)
Price below invoice (before doc fees): $3,198
Doc fees: $399
Price below invoice after doc fees: $2,799
Inspection sticker: $35
MA Plates: $135 (New); $100 (Transfer)
I did not bother negotiating since they did not have my color combo in stock. In their email quote, it clearly stated their price applied to in-stock models and it was guaranteed for 48 hours. I might keep checking their inventory to see if they get my color combo in stock by fall.
Honda Cars of Boston was the second best quote.
MSRP: Same as above
Sales price: $29,987 (Includes all incentives)
Price below invoice: $2,822
Doc fees: $298
Price below invoice after doc fees: $2,524
Inspection sticker: No charge
They also did not have my color combo in stock (silver with either grey or black interior), but I did buy my first Honda there so we will see what happens.
Most dealerships quoted me between $30.6 k and up to $30.9k.
One dealership (Honda Gallery) had my color combo in stock (silver with black interior), but their quoted price was $30,273 (based on an MSRP of $35,665). Their doc fees are $395. I am in no rush to make a deal. I told them to get back to me at the end of the month.
Hope this info helps.
Looking for feedback on three different deals on a 17 hybrid EX-L in VA. Both dealers do free oil & filter changes for life and state inspections. Deal #1 is 20 miles from my house. Deal #2 and 3 are the same dealer and 5 minutes from my house. So I'm partial to them due to convenience. So please provide me with your thoughts so I can see if I'm letting my impartiality leave money on the table. Also, do you see the demo as the best deal? I'm being told the warranty won't start until I purchase it.
#1 EX-L with all season mats
MSRP $33780
Discount $6580
Rebate $500 (military discount)
Sales price $26700
Doc fee $649
Reg fee $121 (they said it could be less)
Tax $1134.98
Total $28605.43...they called and offered me $28300 as I'm typing but I haven't seen the breakdown on the numbers.
#2 EX-L with body mounding, splash guards and all season mats
MSRP $33740
Discount $6340
Rebate $500 (military discount)
Sales price $26900
Doc fee $599
Reg fee $60.75
Tax $1141.20
Total $28,700
#3 EX-L Demo with 4K miles no add-ons
MSRP $33740
Sales price $25790
Doc fee $599
Reg fee $60.75
Tax $1127.17
Rebate $500 (military discount)
Total $27576
Let me break down your deals.
Deal #1 - Includes all season mats
- Amount below invoice of $30,963 before doc fees = $4263 (including $500 military discount)
- Amount below invoice with $649 doc fees = $3614
Deal #2 - Includes body mounding, splash guards and all season mats- Amount below invoice of $30,963 before doc fees = $4063 (including $500 military discount)
- Amount below invoice with $599 doc fees = $3464
Difference in sale price between accessories from deal #1 and deal #2 = $200Just looking at these numbers, although the sale price of deal #2 is $200 higher, you are getting body molding, and splash guards in addition to floor mats from deal #1. Doc fees are $50 cheaper in deal #2.
As for the Demo model, for a car with 4k miles, you are at $5173 below invoice before doc fees and $4574 below invoice after doc fees. Would you rather spend more for a new car or save about $1k (+/-) and buy used? You are going to have to make that decision on your own.
So looking at just numbers, I'd rather go with a new car, unless you can get a bigger discount on the demo without any add-ons.
Try and get the dealer from deal #2 to match the price of deal #1 and see what happens. If they can match the $28,300 OTD price (and you can see a breakdown of numbers) then it is a no brainer since you are getting additional add-ons "at no extra cost" compared to deal #1. Makes sense?
Good luck and let us know what you decide.
