Hello, I am looking for advice on purchasing a 2017 Accord V6 Sedan EX-L with Honda Sensing in SoCal. I have a quote for $28,744 plus fees, taxes, etc. I also have a quote from another dealer $31,241 OTD in blue, which is our preferred color. I'd like to hear, is this a good price? About to pull the trigger and
Based on what I believe to be be dealers' cost, you should be able to purchase that car in your color of choice for under $28k before taxes & fees. I am not intimately familiar with your market but I am eager to find
out what happens. I love negotiating and would happy to make a few phone calls.

I am interested in either buying or leasing an Accord V6 EXL in Central New Jersey. What are the lease and purchase (would finance through Honda Financial) incentives for each option?
You should be able to buy that car for 24200 or less (including freight) plus tax and tags after you include the $2000 in incentives,  or lease it for 290 per month (36 months/12k miles per year) in NJ with NOTHING down if you have good credit. I haven't checked, but if there is one leasing company in central NJ that can deliver that price, I know which one it is. (I have no relationship with them other than soliciting prices from them. Never even bought/leased from them. Don't even live in Jersey.) They also do concierge delivery free.  Let me know if you need info.

Anyone can help with this. Leasing a hybrid touring 2017 Adj cap cost 30988.69 Money factor: 0.00039 50% residual $430.10 payment. Can I get that cap cost to go lower? Looking for around 29,600-30,000
Employing some educated guesswork to reverse engineer your lease, I think there might be room to negotiate another $2000 or more off the sale price, which would yield a savings of roughly $56 per month on your monthly payment. If you would care to share more info about your sale price and cap cost reduction, I might be able to nail it down a bit better. Depending on what part of the country you're located in, I may be able to help with your lease negotiation or recommend a leasing company that could offer a better deal.
So I'm not sure what the sale price is to be honest.
I just negotiated another one to a sale price of $29,975

the first dealer wanted to talk monthly numbers but not price. So I went to another dealer

Hello: Thank you Consiglieri. I have a little more detail now. I have a quote for a 2017 blue Accord V6 with navi/sensing for $28627. MSRP is 37330, invoice is 31,346 so it is approximately $2700 under invoice. Is this a good quote? I am in SoCal.

Back to the game. I still have the 2017 accord sport SE out the door at 25K option offer. Did some coupe joy rides for kicks. Noticed that that the rear legroom has 7 more inches than my g37 coupe and you can sit five. Came accross a mint used 2016 accord white touring with 7000 miles at $24, 500 out the door. Really temtping to jump on this. Only concern is how reliable are these Variable Cylinder Management engines. Or wait for the Honda Spiror or redesigned Accord out fall 2017 with turbos. Also the 2018 Toyota Camry Redesigned is nice and out summer 2017. Shoot me your thoughts.

Thank you Brian125. We did. Just bought the blue obsidian pearl Accord sedan v6 with navi/sensing in SoCal. The price was 28350, doc fee 80, tax 2487 and license was 323.75 so the OTD was 31, 241.38
MSRP was 33730 and invoice 31,446 so the price of 28350 was about 2996 under invoice.

I'm looking for 2017 EX-L V6 with no navi in SoCal area (zip code 92782). What is the average invoice price? and how much more could I haggle if I purchased the 2017 model after the new redesigned 2018 models gets rolled out, if any?

    Thanks again @brian125.

I will be keeping an eye on this forum for the next few months to see how much people are paying for the Touring sedan in the Northeast.

I'm looking for a 2017 Accord Hybrid Base Trim here in New Jersey. Following the suggestion of brian125, I expanded my search to NYC and PA dealerships. I offered $27,000 OTD (I think this breaks down to ~$24,500 sales price + $1700 + $500 doc + $300 NJ MV). One dealership, Bronx Honda, said they would go for it, but I need to come in tomorrow. I think the deal is a good price. They are not asking for a credit card hold or anything...which makes me suspicious whether they will honor this number. Should I ask for anything specifically from them before I take the time and effort to drive over?

Slight rollover of Neg equity: -$400

No taxes as my truck is worth more than their car

    Doc Fee: $579

OTD at 29353.07 with 1.9% over 72 months at $433

2007 Accord ex w/sensing in NJ   MSRP 28505 invoice 26151. What should I shoot for for selling price. There is 1000 dealer cash and 1000 lease cash as well. Would 2500 under invoice including the 2000 incentive be reasonable??  Thanks

Speak to the Internet mgr only... tell him / her you will be in tomm. to buy vehicle. Ask for email confirmation with car model and price in return you will leave a deposit on CC.

Note : In NY all dealers doc fee's are capped at 75 dollars. .. Buying in NY saves you another $225

If you buy at Bronx Honda Tell dealer you do not want there dealerships decals or stickers with Bronx Honda on this vehicle. A license plate frame is ok .

Thanks brian125. Do you think $27000 out the door would be a reasonable deal for this vehicle? MSRP is ~$30,500 and invoice is ~$28000. I take it from your feedback that I may be able to knock the price down more? I have since gotten the same OTD price from Mike Piazza Honda in PA. I think the drive to PA is easier than to the Bronx. If I can get my local Jersey Honda to match, I think it would a be tad more convenient.
  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244
Take above Bronx price call your closest dealers knock off another 300 to 500 dollars and negotiate your best deal . A closer dealer will bite. At worst you get a price match from Bronx Honda with NJ dealer lowing price for there higher doc fee charge ( $300 )

There is no rush... dealer in Bronx will not take that deal off table. If dealers know your buying today holding with a credit card you will get there best offer.

Starting to get quotes on LX or EX with sensing in the Chicago land area ( the brian125 way...). I know that there is a $1,000 manufacture to dealers cash and $1,600 on Accord Hybrid when you finance via Honda Financing, I have heard that there is also $600 cash rebate on non-hybrid Accords if you finance through Honda Financing. Does anyone had intel on the additional $600 rebate?

    Thanks.

I have not heard about a additional $600 rebate to go thru Honda finance . They already are offering low rates. ( 0.9% up to 48 months ... 1.9% up to 72months )

Thanks Brian, still debating between the LX with sensing or EX with Sensing got so far 15 quotes and I will challenge the best offer to do better at the end of the month.

Being relaxed and patient is a key when you buy a car. I'm lucky to have lots of dealerships around where I live. It's so funny that some of the internet managers send you Invoice price as the greatest price, right...

I have seen someone posting a lifetime warranty on the CVT, is that a local dealership gimmick or Honda offering? Thanks.

  • brian125brian125 Member Posts: 5,244

What kind of dealer money is out there right now for a Honda Accord EX-L V6? I've been quoted $28600 OTD including 3% sales tax. MSRP on the vehicle is $31730 with $329 in add-ons. Payment of $415 at 1.9% for 72 months.

Can you breakdown the price by providing the following info:

Sales price of the car without any add-ons:
    Dealer documentation fees:
    Dealer Add-ons: $329
    Registration fees:
Sales tax: 3% of sale price of the car plus dealer add-ons

Not sure about dealer money out there, but the holdback on Hondas are about 2%. Not sure if dealers would want you to get a piece of that $$$. However, since it is the end of the month, a high volume trying to make their Q1 numbers might be looking to make deal.

@brian125 should be able to provide some more info on this.

    Sales Price: 27046
    Add-ons: 329
Doc Fees: 579 (if I remember correctly)
    Registration fees: 93

    OTD at $28405.07

No sales tax as the vehicle I'm trading has a higher value. I am rolling about $350 in negative equity into the deal which is in the OTD price.

Financing through Honda is 72 months at 1.9% with payment at $415/month.

    @wedphotog

The MSRP for the 2017 EX-L V6 is $31,870 (including $875 destination) according to Honda's website and autotrader.com. Your listed MSRP is $140 off (not sure if has anything to do with your zip code or not).

Anyway, the invoice on this vehicle is $29,220 (including destination fee). So based on your sale price, you are $2174 below invoice before doc fees. That's not a bad deal, but taking into account the doc fees, that number drops to $1595.

You could reach out to more dealers to see what deals can be had between today and tomorrow (end of the month). I think you can do better, though. Use the techniques listed in this forum and follow what @brian125 has preached.

BTW, what part of the country are you located?

Good luck and let us know what deal you go with.

Thanks. I'm in Raleigh, NC. I've reached out to several other dealers but they won't touch it. Which is funny as the V6 model isn't popular in this particular area.

Its a good price for your area. Where you may pick up a few more dollars is having dealers lower sale price knowing that there high doc fee is the only reduction on there end. Another option is to go into SC or go North . Probably not worth the $$$ or effort right now thou. .....good luck

I tried southeastern VA and got the same results. No dealer wanted to touch that deal. I agree that the doc fees are high, but pretty standard around here.

MD is where you'll find the lowest deals right know on Accords . If saving $700 / 800 is worth it to you and you don't mind a road trip I could give you some good dealers to inquire about pricing.

If you have done all your research and are absolutely positive this is the vehicle you want, $500 a few years down the road will be inconsequential. Call the Internet Manager and tell him/her you can be there in 30 mins to finalize the deal for $25k OTD. If they won't budge, cough up the $500 if you really want the car.

Located in so. Cal. Looking at purchasing an accord touring. Just walked out of dealership. Wanted to hear everyone's opinion. Sticker price was 35,665. Manager told me invoice price was 32,996. Said the car could be mine for 33,496. He said he would not go below invoice. This 33,496 was before taxes, title, and fees. Good or bad? I feel like there is better out there! Let me know.

    Very bad deal .

Invoice w/ dest charge on the 17 touring is $32,809. Dealer has something else added in this vehicle.

Call / email 10 of the closest dealers. Your target price in SoCal should be around $2000 to 2500 below Invoice plus...................... Taxes, Doc fee, Dmv fee's.

Brian, Took your advice and emailed a couple more dealers last night. Was on the way to the first dealer to pick up the Accord when the second one called. They took another $700 off the price, dropped my payment $10/month to $404 and threw in some extras. Pretty pleased where I came out at. Ended up around $28.5k.

Good job................ You got the best price in your area for March. You took back dealers high doc fee's. Buyers who take the advice of negotiating and buying only the last 2 days, last day of any month do far better than the beginning or middle of months.

While doing some research, I found out HFS is offering $1600 finance cash if you finance through HFS. Has anyone been able to take advantage of this offer? If yes, was it used towards the down payment or to reduce the sale price of the car?

I am in MA. I have reached out to a couple of dealers about it and I am waiting for a response. I will post when I have more info.

BTW, this incentive expires on May 1st, 2017.

We only show $1000 on the gas version, and $1600 on the hybrid.

Not certain, but pretty sure that is dealer cash. You'd have to negotiate a bigger discount on the car to take advantage of it.

Greetings, in recent postings both Brian125 and bluemkn57cars along with a few others have pretty much detailed when the best time to buy a Honda Accord Touring should be (End of June 2017) and that there is currently $1,600 cash back to the dealer if you finance an accord through American Honda. I am pretty much willing to travel anywhere on the east coast to optimize my hard earned dollars whether it be in Mass, RI, CT NY, NJ, MD, DC, VA on a Honda Accord Touring Sedan. Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share if they bought a Touring model, what they paid, sale price, and additional fees which many have been "thrown in the deal"and then other fees (Doc fee, registration, taxes) and what color they chose (exterior and interior). Also wondering what state, name of dealer and if you believe you would buy another car again at that dealership. Much thanks in advance for your posts.

    @1sebringnow

It appears the $1600 dealer cash is only for hybrids. Hence for the Touring model, the dealer cash is $1000. Do not expect dealers to give that away or even mention it.

From the few quotes I have received on the Touring model this early in the month, the various sale prices I have been offered has hovered around $30k. A couple of dealers were a few hundred below that, but I have not seen any great deals yet in the Boston area.

I am also watching this forum to see what folks have paid. A few things I want to point out:

    1. You are not going to have much luck not paying doc fees. Here in MA, they range from $300 to about $400 with most Honda dealers. Your best bet is to negotiate the sale price while taking that into account.
    2. Registration fees are the same across the board. $135 for new plates or $100 to transfer plates. Inspection is $35 (I think).
    3. Most dealers only have a limited stock of Touring models. The dealers I contacted had an average of 4 sedans in stock.
    4. As far as color combination, there was always a Crystal black one and orchid white one in stock. (I am looking for a silver one and that is not too common).
    5. I would highly recommend Honda Cars of Boston. I bought my first accord there. They had the second lowest price from the get go. One dealer was cheaper by a $100 at the time, but they had lied to me (long story).

I am not sure what color combination you are looking for. If it does not matter, then take your time with your search. Do not let any dealers play games or take you for a ride.

    Good luck.

    @1sebringnow

I wanted to add one more thing. If by the fall I am unable to get a substantial deal on a 2017 model in a color combo of my choice, I will just wait for a 2018 model.

Just wondering who the dealer you are avoiding is... I don't want to bother with them. Like you, I will be sending out a number of emails to internet dealers looking for best price.

Prime Honda in West Roxbury were the worse. You might have a different experience, but they wanted to sell me a car in a different color combo. That was 4 years ago so things might have changed, but I will never do business with them or recommend friends or family.
