@Michaell I guess you answered my first question. What about the second? For the price, do you think there is room to negotiate? I would like it to be closer to $300. But the dealers in this area are simply rejecting that price point. Thanks for all t he help so far. Appreciate the time you take to help others in these forums.
@mailmearvin- the residual is hurting you. I have a 2015 Passat that I leased with similar numbers and I am at roughly $270 for 36/36. My residual was 5% higher.

We don't track prices - use the "make / model / year" pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools.
And yes, the bank sets the residual value. It tends to decrease as the model year progresses.

I'm looking to finalize a deal tomorrow at noon for a 2017 Passat R line with the LED lights package for 606 otd, $250 monthly payments, after all is said and done, for a 36/12 lease in Southern California. Is this a great deal, or should I continue negotiating a better price?
2017 VW Passat with Comfort Package and LED Lighting Package 12k/36mts 75038
Went to the dealer tonight, and was offered the following:
Money Factor [.00126] Residual [46%] MSRP [$26,310] Discount [-$4,483] Rebate [-$1000] Protection Package [+$1495} - they said all of their Passat’s have this and they don’t sell them without it even if I didn’t want it. Selling Price [$22,322]
Down Payment [$376] = first month’s payment Monthly Payment [$399] 36m/12k
I was hoping to get this car in the $200-$250 range with zero down. See numbers breakdown in picture below.

That MF is crazy high, unfortunately, and forcing you to buy the protection package is the worst thing I've heard. Don't do it. Tell them you won't do the deal; walk away and find another dealer.

Do you know what your credit score is? That might explain why the MF is so high.
But, the $1495 "Protection Package" is pure profit for the dealer.

My credit score is pretty good (700-800). Also said if it would sweeten the deal, I can have a family member with excellent credit (800+) co-sign. Also, I had a feeling the "unavoidable" protection plan was BS. Do you know what the MF is for good/excellent credit?

Thoughts on this offer? MSRP $26,210, ZIP 75038, 15K/36
$2150 added to the agreed on price to get the Gross CAP. $625 acquisition fee.... but, what else is in that number? $1525 more ... Do you pay tax upfront in your state? Dealer fees?
Looks like a good deal, but there should be another page on that contract that shows how they got from the Agreed price to the Gross CAP.

Yes, this is in Texas. Taxes and fees are rolled in. Breakdown:
$1281.25 taxes $625 acquisition fee $243.50 in title/license fees
Is the purchase price at the end of the lease negotiable? If so, what would be a good amount?

Purchase price at lease end is not negotiable; the residual is fixed by the bank.

Hi I could really use some help as I am seeing a difference in Money Factor.
I am getting quoted right now on a Passat SE priced at MSRP of $27,780. This is for a 35/15k lease. They are applying a $6000 discount, bringing the price to $21,780 and also adding $1500 rebate to help offset the trade in deficit.
However, they are quoting a payment of $350 with a residual value of $12,225, a money factor of .00030, with $0 down. The sheet they gave is not like the ones posted above. This is for a friend who is having a co-signor with stellar credit. Can you advise? She is trading in a Jetta lease for this. We are in SoCal.
Just got off the phone and told 44% Residual, Money Factor .00030, Net trade allowance -1,800., 6k in discount, 1500 in rebate. $0 Down and Payment 325 + $25 taxes = $350 per month..

The residual is correct. The base MF is .00001, and there is $1750 in lease cash + $500 bonus cash. If the net trade is minus $1800, that adds $50/mo. to the price.

Hi all--I'm considering leasing a 2017 Passat SE W/Tech. Live in DC, would likely be a 10k/36mo. Been running some numbers on LeaseHackr (based on generally where I think I can strike on price as well as info from this forum) and they seem too good to be true. Excellent credit--790 range. What am I missing?:
MSRP: $29,500 Sales Price: $21,500 MF: .00001 Doc Fee: $80 Acquisition Fee: $625 Miles: 10,000 Months: 36 Down Payment: $0 Taxed Incentives: $1,750 (based on "Lease Cash" offers that generally seem to be available) Residual: 47% Lic/Registration Fee: $400 Sales Tax: 6%

This seems too low. Any thoughts?
.00001 and 47% for 36/12 on Passat SE.
The selling price may be for a purchase, not a lease - incentive values are different.
To get an accurate payment, you'll need to know the adjusted cap cost (selling price plus taxes & fees you aren't paying up front)
