    Two questions:

    1. Is the MF variable enough month to month that if I can close this deal today (last day of month), I should find a way to do that?

    2. I usually pay only first month at signing to minimize risk in case the car is totaled, etc. Is there risk in paying first month + DMV fees? I notice that many of the calculators assume that both are paid up front.

    Thanks!

    1) No crystal ball, here. The money factor obviously can't go lower, but they could add incentives. If you like the deal, you should take it. But, the end of the month for this program is Monday, so no need to do it today.

    2) I forget where you live. If it's a state that taxes the monthly payment, then you want to pay non-taxable fees upfront, because if you roll them in, they become taxed.

Is Amount Due at Start and Total Working Cash supposed to be only the amount YOU are actually paying, or that amount + any rebates?

For instance, if i have a 2500 rebate and put 800 down to cover first payment + fees, should the Amount Due at Start show as 800 or 3300?

The terminology is fluid. You have to look at the entirety of numbers and details to see the total.

Usually, "working cash" means your payment + rebates.
"amount due at start" usually means the amount out of your pocket.

But, it could be the other way around.. look at all of the numbers and see.

What if both fields are the same?

Both Amount Due at Start and Total Working Cash = my payment + rebates

    Is that unusual?

Just took out a 36 month lease on 2017 Grand Cherokee 4x4 Laredo w/ Altitude 23z package and upgraded sound system. Paid 3,000 down and 309 per month. I am in MA New England. Is that an ok deal? (I used to lease Toyotas that were much less).

Hard to say - what was the sticker price and the negotiated price?

    What does the $3000 cover?

What lease term and how many miles per year?

I am looking to lease a Summit 4x4 with 23r package in Michigan for 39 months at 12K miles per year. MSRP is $55980 with adjusted cap of $46,845. They are quoting $600 per month. With the MF and residual provided above I show the payment should be $536 month. Is my math on target? I would be using Ally.

This looks to be a third party lease - the $6000 incentive tips me off to that.

We don't have any numbers to confirm.

Relative to MSRP, it looks to be a solid payment.

Yes its a third party leasing company.  What do u mean regarding you dont have numbers to confirm? So based on the numbers u see and the breakdown,  it looks to be a good deal? Sorry, wish i was better at this leasing thing. Just want to make sure my brother is getting a good deal. This website always helps me to get a good deal on my leases.

My brother said they arent selling it at msrp. They said $54,600 plus $2000 rebate so $52,600 is selling price. So at $52,600 selling price and $2,273 due at signing, is the $589.00/month a good payment? Thanks

The only Jeep numbers we have are from Chrysler Capital; if this is a lease from Ally or US Bank, we do not have those numbers so cannot tell you if the MF they are using (whatever it is, it's not disclosed on the paperwork you posted) has been marked up or not.

Therefore, it's hard for us to tell you if the deal is good or bad.

You always want to negotiate the selling price before applying incentives, even for a lease.

    Sadly, no.

If I use $54,600 as the MSRP and $52,600 as the selling price with those lease numbers, I get a payment of $719/mo before tax.

I suppose $589/mo looks good, by comparison.

    Markup adds about $20/mo.

2017 GC Overland 4x4 in CT
    MSRP: $54,275
    Sale Price: $48,749
    Residual: 52%
    Money Factor: .00042

Residual and MF seem off to me. Thanks for any input though guys!

    I show .00006 and 52% for 36/15 on the Overland 4x4.

MF is marked up; politely tell the dealer you won't sign a dealer where that is the case. They know what the base rate is.

Hi - can I please have numbers for JGC Limited 4x4 in Mass at 36/10 and 36/12?

Does Jeep offer any MSD or other method to reduce MF?

    Thanks!

    .00001 and 56% / 55%

MF is as low as you'll see, so MSD won't do you any good.
    Wow - free money!

    Thank you :)

Thank you so much! Should I expect the base rate, or is it always going to be above the base rate for the dealer (or whoever else) to make money?

Pardon my ignorance... first time working out a lease!

I'm looking at a GC Limited in Orange County, CA:

    MSRP: $45,635
    36-month lease
    Miles: 15,000
    Cash Down: $2,000
I currently lease a BMW (understand that that means $1,000 lease conquest benefit).

They offered me a payment of $467 or $505, including tax.

If I assume a Residual 52% and a MF of 0.00005; I get an approx. cap cost of ~$40,500

I'm trying to work them down to $435 or$470, including tax; is this a reasonable expectation?

Dealer can mark it up by as much as .00042; it's a way for the dealer to make extra profit.
