Well you're correct Brian it is a Lotus, specifically it's a Lotus Elite, Colin Chapman's first roadworthy sports car, produced from 1957 to 1962 when it was replaced by the Elan.
The Elite was noteworthy for it's pioneering fiberglass monococque construction and it's string of victories in sports cars racing where it epitomized the Lotus philosophy "low mass is it's own reward".
Fiat Uno Turbo - 1990 by the registration, after the facelift - these were very fast, 127mph, and very nippy in traffic. I drove one once, it cornered on rails, but the turbo lag was quite pronounced. The Panda was smaller.
Is that photo of the MX-6 "squished" a little. Looks a little longer and skinnier than I remember in that shot for some reason. I really liked the style of those (minus that rear spoiler) at the time. Especially in black.
looks like the familiar Fiat shape (err., 124? Or 128?), but from the grill (and your intro), I will say one of the eastern European varients/knockoffs.
I know this is a fun topic, but we have to watch the size of images. Please limit the size of images you add to your posts to 500 pixels wide or less. If you have an image that is larger than that to test us with, please just type the URL to the pic so it displays as a link. That way we can see it in a new window and we avoid the margin problem caused by the larger images.
We didn't get a Sunbeam version of the Avenger, which was introduced in 1970 only as a Hillman but it was re-badged as Chrysler Avenger in 1976, and again as Talbot in 1979, with the last ones sold in 1981. I think the one in the picture is a late Hillman, and the vinyl roof probably means a deluxe, but these cars have just died out, we never see them now, as they were rustbuckets from new....Apparently they were the last cars sold in Britain to have no underseal from new, just painted floorpans, and we use lots of salt on our roads, so they fell apart. They were two or four door saloons, and there was an estate car, which I think was introduced a couple of years after the saloon, but the only ones to look out for were the Tiger, always yellow, with stripes, wing etc, which was fast for the money (till it rotted) and the special rally versions, which were really special, but were only available to works teams- most of them probably ended up wrapped round the scenery in various British forests....
The Marina was only sold as a Morris in Britain, no Austins, from 1971, but it was facelifted a few times, and it eventually became the Morris Ital, which was a more extensive facelift. The Marina was stodgy, but apart from the handling, it was fairly good basic transport, selling in fairly large numbers, but it never took over from the ancient Morris Minor, which it had replaced, or the Oxford (bigger). I think the ones in the photograph are from the second series, facelifted about 1976. You still see the odd Marina on the road, they made estate car and van versions as well, and a pick-up, although that was pretty rare even when new.
sorry, every time I try to post a photo, it won't open, are any of you guys using Apple Safari, like I am, 'cos I can't open any of your photos either, when they are just a little blue square with "?" inside

You are correct, the bobtail Bimmer is in fact a Three-series "Compact" based on the E46 platform (318tis were based on the E36). As you suggest it is available with a wide variety of four and six cylinder engines.
It's a 914/4 2.0, only four cylinder cars had painted metal on the Targa bridge.
I couldn't get the url for your image, email it to me and I'll give it a shot. Be aware that you can close the HTML by clicking "Img" again at the end (after.jpg).
Your url is incomplete when you post. I think you might be clicking on a jpg on your own computer? rather than on one available on the web? It needs to be hosted somewhere... Either it's a picture on a website somewhere already existing on the web and you enter the address of the picture or you put it up on some picture hosting site and link to it there.

Lincoln ca.1982. I don't know if it is the Continental sedan or the Town Car, as it has the carriage top. IIRC the Continental had the oval opera window, and the TC had the rectangular one.
Some of those still run around the city as black cars. What passed for luxury back then! The chair rails were always in the worst place for back seat riders.

Foreground is a Facel Vega II
Background I thought was a Berlinatta Lusso - but the windshield looks wrong and there's no A-pillar vent window. So I think it's a Lamborghini 400.

It is RHD, so British (fine BMC stylig). A Morris something, or a Hillman?
I think it is what came over the pond as the 1970ish Plymouth Cricket.

Nope, ChryCo owned Rootes at the time so the Cricket was a rebadged Rootes product>>
Now we have a 2-fer. Who is going to tell us what the red car was and the green car that became the Plymouth Cricket?

A nice small BMW that flopped in the US of A because the American market prizes power over efficiency. Too bad.
