Confusingly, the wiki article on the Phoenix says it was only built as a 4 door sedan.

Oh, there's plenty of room for confusion about Aussie cars, especially the nomenclature. They often used names familiar to us but applied them to completely different cars.

a Muntz jet? I think Wayne Carini featured one of these on his show a couple years ago.

That Italian restaurant is going to miss that tabelcloth!

Muntz gave you a choice of motors during the car's short lifetime---a Cadillac V8 or a Lincoln.

About 200 were built, is the best guess.

Muntz had a strange business plan, in that the cars cost more to make than they sold for. :p

I dunno who Wayne Carini is/was but yeh that is a circa 1951 Muntz Jet. I don't think he actually meant to lose money on each car but maybe that's why he was known as Madman Muntz. The caption describes the roof as a removable fiberglass piece. Looks kinda wavy for glass.

Found this pic of dirty old Halifax from 1963. This is a municipal shot taken to show results of road paint tests, but captured quite well the run-down nature of this part of town back then. Today this is somewhat less run-down though certainly not all that wonderful, but most of these buildings are gone and it is also now a main route out of downtown for commuters. At the time it was very low-rent housing which explains the decrepit nature of the vehicles to some extent. Some interesting things to ID:

    I'm guessing a GT 350 (OK OK, it's a Shelby and I think it's a '70).

Without hood stripes it may be a '69.

I was wondering why '69 and '70 looked about identical, given how different Mustangs looked those years. Now I know:
"No production of 1970 Shelby GT350 and 500 models was undertaken; however, unsold 1969 models were given 1970 vehicle identification numbers under FBI supervision. The 1970 models had two cosmetic changes, a front chin spoiler and two black hood stripes. The rest of the changes had to do with emissions. The GT500 had the carburetor modified and marked "ed" (edited) on tag. The distributor in both the GT 350 and GT500 was changed to a 1970 version. A total of 789 were re-VIN'd."

Interesting. Just THINK how much motivation this gives passers-by to pontificate at car shows. "That's not a '69 he has there. Just look at the carburetor tag". "What do you mean,-- he has the black hood stripes". "Oh, those are probably added on, because of what the VIN number says." "Well, VINs can be switched. Did you notice the new rivets on the tag, and how its slightly tilted to the left"? (repeat every 15 minutes, fold up lawn chair, go home).

It's so true. My Uncle is heavily involved in classic cars and has an outstanding 58 Bonneville. He tells many a story amount people getting all hot an bothered because the wrong type of tape was used on a wire loom, etc.

    Nice Learjet 60.
I took a similar photo with what was my then new 1987 red Dodge Daytona Shelby in front of the big 5 painted on the end of runway 5.
Andy, I saw more than a few great air shows at your old Pease Air Force Base. I made some great videos there.

The whale? I'll guess it's the 1956 OSCA MT4 TN. Morelli body Tipo Nuevo (new model) with the headrest, a longish nose and very low to the ground.

Michaell is correct, the S6 isn't sold here but rumor has it that Audi may be more aggressive about selling wagons in the USDM.

Right on the make, but it’s a 1950 MT4. I’d never heard of them until a few days ago. Good guess.

Thanks for posting the link and I see that mystery pic is tagged 1950 MT4. To me that Morelli body screams TN which would be 1955 and later.

If you're a fan here's a pic of Carroll Shelby taking the checkered flag as he won the 4 hour enduro in 1956 driving a 1956 OSCA MT4 TN S/N 1178 at Elkhart Lake.

Don't you wish racing looked like that now? B)

Firefox has gotten increasingly troublesome the last while and the constant updates do not help. I am about ready to move to Chrome despite having been faithful to Firefox for over a decade.

With the Chromium-based Edge browser now available in test builds it looks like most of us will be moving to Chrome. I remember IE6. Market domination and most hated web browser at the same time.

That's a Siata Spring, a late 60s (IIRC) sad last effort by the maker of the beautiful Siata 208s.
It's all Fiat 850 under that silly bodywork.

I've never been able to get Firefox to work when posting pics so I just switch to Safari for that.

I'm stumped on one. If you look between the Olds and the Country Squire, behind the fence is a small white wagon. The front end is reminiscent of a Triumph TR-3, but what is it?
