Actually saw one of those at an old car show last year. Not many around and if you see one, it seems more likely to be the Buick Caballero version. I believe in 1958 Mercury also had hardtop wagons and maybe Chrysler.
And AMC (Ambassador).

There's a s**t ton of interesting oldies at this car show:
The newest cars I can spot are the Porsches at bottom right. The green one looks like a 73-74 911 Carrera RS with the characteristic "ducktail" spoiler. The red 911 mostly hidden under the trees could be 1970s or 80s I'll call one more from the row of sports cars: the big white/blue Healey w the folded windscreen looks like an Austin-Healey 100 (1953-56) with the scallop shaped grille.
I see a white 1960 Impala H/T in mid-pic. It's next to a white Chrysler C-300 and there are two more Impalas in the row, a red 1962 and a white over red '63 but I see no '59s anywhere.

At the very bottom of the picture in the right corner we see a couple of red sports roadsters. The one we can see all of is a Morgan Plus4 of 1950s or 60s vintage. The other (only windscreen and hood visible) is an Allard J2 (you can just make out the bump on the hood)
2nd gen Hyundai Pony, Canada spec, MY 84-87. I recall seeing these frequently in BC when I was a kid, but even in the mild western climate they are long gone.
Yes, they are virtually non-existent here now though I did see a mint-condition one on the road here a couple of years ago. Must have been in someone's heated garage for a couple of decades. Not sure why this one was flatbedded to the local Hyundai dealer. Hope they were not looking for parts.
From the same great team that brought you the Austin Marina!
Interesting, I wasn't aware of the BL connection. I also recall seeing the Stellar in Canada, another one maybe even less common than a Pony. I have to imagine a Pony rusted fiercely in harsh climates there. Early Excel and Sonata are virtually extinct here. too.
Maybe the dealer bought it as a display piece, show how far they've come.
The Stellar sold well initially but its reputation quickly became far less than stellar. Underpowered, not great build quality, a ruster. Have not seen one in decades.
Alfa Berlina. These were marketed as competition to the BMW 2002. In some ways more fun to drive than the BMW, but alas, not nearly as durable. I'd love to have one.
Shifty, as you know Berlina is simply the Italian word for sedan. Since know one seems to know which Alfa sedan this is, I'm'a tell youse>
The Alfa-Romeo Giulia Berlina was introduced in 1962 as a replacement for the Giulietta which was their pioneering compact sports sedan. Police used mostly the used mostly upgraded TI and Super versions. They can be seen in many Italian movies of the period with their blue light flashing and their horns going bleep-ah-bleep-ah. The logo on the door reads Squadra Volante (Flying Squad). Where do I join!
They made versions of the Giulia until 1977 and named their current Sports sedan after it.
Lol! But in Alfa Romeo land they have no hyphen ergo "Alfa Romeo USA."
I did some poking around on the net and couldn't find anywhere that used a hyphen in Alfa Romeo so that's my bad I was correct on the derivation of the name, notwithstanding spelling mistakes.
No it's just my sense of humor about the use of hyphenated names these days. Your history of Alfa and Niccolo Romeo is correct of course. I think the prewar company did use a hyphenated name plate but then changed over time.
This is the only pic I could find which relates to the evolution of the Alfa Romeo name.
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.

Okay, I knew I'd seen it hyphenated somewhere. The badge is fascinating in itself. It borrows from the heraldic symbols for the city of Milan which in turn derive from the coat-of-arms of the Duchy of Milan. The red cross is a Crusader symbol but I'm not sure exactly what the snake swallowing a man or baby has to do with but it's certainly interesting.
I like this 1959 postcard picture of Halladay Olds-Cadillac in Cheyenne, WY that was posted over at The Old Motor. Some of the vehicles shown are pretty easy to ID, but one might make for more of a challenge.
The little black wagon in front of the gigantic '59 Caddy 'vert is the tricky one. It's obviously import from Yurp but I can't quite place it. There's another small import peaking out infant of the '59 Olds wagon. I think it's a Hillman Minx and it's a clue to the black car which I'll bet is a Hillman Husky.
You're right, @ab348, yellow car at far left appears to be a likely 4cyl Ponton.
I also agree about the apparent Hillman Minx, but I think the black wagon could be a Borgward. I don't recall the Husky existing with a two piece rear window treatment like that.
Someone over at The Old Motor also pegged the little wagon as a Borgward and it does look like it could be a Goliath now that I've looked at some pics of those. It's fascinating to think that such relatively obscure import cars could have had such a presence in a place like Wyoming back in 1959 with wide-open spaces, Big Sky country, etc not being a place where one would have thought they would have much of an impact back then.

The Dynamic 88 had "Eighty-eight" written in the streamer behind the headlamp. The Super 88 models had a solid trim accent spear instead.

I didn't know that Alfa Romeo was another double-barrelled name thing. Like John-Cougar. Newton-John.
At least it's not Alfa-Romeo-John.
Was that shade of green the typical police livery in Italy?
At one point a fellow named Niccolo Romeo bought a majority share ergo Alfa-Romeo.
As for that green, I don't know if it was typical. These days blue/white seems to be common>

The Minx was fairly popular in the late 50s but I've never seen a Husky.
