I know it is a Lotus. And very pretty. Never sure of the specific models though. Looks like a pretty early one.

About as early as they come, it's Lotus first road car to be sold in built form, not as a kit.
    It's a Lotus Elite S1 ca. 1958-63.

Very advance for the era with fiberglass body, IRS and a twin-cam (Ford) motor

And maybe the first year of fake wire wheel covers?

a guy around the corner from me has a tired looking one of those in his driveway, but it is a brushwhacker fire truck set-up. Kinda cool looking though. Been there for many years untouched. I doubt it ever will be either.

I'm a huge fan of that generation of Rivieras. I think it's between them and the'63 Pontiac GP for the best looking of the "personal coupes".

nice looking. great color. Kinda big. Now, a V60 version would be perfect.

that's the "CUV" version (cross country). AKA a jacked up station wagon with some plastic cladding, for people that would not be caught dead driving a station wagon!

    You're a little early, it's a 1952 Chevy Suburban 3100 not that it's much different from a '48 but I'd be surprised to see two-tones on a 48 anything.

Well, that's unlikely to be original paint so who knows.

I seem to remember that Chevy used that era Suburban to 'guide' the styling on the HHR.

Good guess, there is a resemblance from that angle but I think that's a Simca Oceane Sport
    c. late 50s, it's based on the Aronde.(lots of American styling influence!)

Good eye mon ami. I don't see another non-French car which is interesting given that the photo is from Menton, France which abuts San Remo on the Italian Riviera.

The two-tone car driving toward the camera is a Simca Ariane which was a full sized sedan developed by Simca in response to the Suez crisis of 1956 which had Europeans looking for cars with tiny gas-sipping motors. The Ariane was originally designed as a follow-on to the Ford Vedette but after Simca took over Ford of France they offered the Ariane with a 1.3 liter as well as the Ford-designed V8.

I'm still thinking the blue roadster at lower right is an Alpine.
The Traction Avant is also interesting as although it looks so old, it might have only been several years old.

Versions of the TA were made until 1957, later one ('52-'57) had the bustleback extended trunk.

Good call, Bean. You can just make out the roof of a Beetle in the upper left. I think there's two more, the parked on on left and you can just make out the roof of one past the Fiat 500 on the right.

There's another non-Fiats. Forward of the white Fiat 124 coupe there is a small hatchback that looks to me like an Autobianchi A112. Looking past the rightmost Fiat 124 is a parked van you can just see the side window of--VW Transporter?

    I don't think that's a Bimmer but I can't quite place it. Don't think it's a Fiat either.
