Must be around 1966-67, getting late in the life of a 60 Ford, as they seemed to vanish by around 1970 (as did many cars of the era). Looks like a 57 Pontiac in front of what looks like a 4 door post at right.

Surprised that nobody tagged the early ‘50s DeSoto in the pic Andy posted.

Bedford, England, mid-1960s. Yes, there was a US military base nearby...

Vauxhall PA Cresta between the bus and scooter at left.

Big contrast between the 63 Impala and the Ford Pop in front of it, especially as the Pop may not be much older.

Triumph Herald b ehind a Mini, partially obscured by bike rider on left. Ahead of the Impala possibly a Triumph Mayflower.

Hello and I hope that you are all ok despite the awesome weather you must have had over the holiday period.

I see that you are looking at Bedford, which is just down the road from Luton, and therefore close to the GM plants for Vauxhall and Bedford too.

As wells the Impala is that VW LHD? I think the rear bumper is not how we had them though it could be customised, and it is actually registered nearby in Hertfordshire, but could be imported - possibly even for our Forces - Dunstable was a big base for the British Army at that time I think snd our service personnel could get cars abroad if posted to Germany etc.

Old black car emerging from the right turn is a 1948/50 Vauxhall L-type Velox -the light wheel hubs indicate it's not the cheaper Wyvern - but it's not the oldest car in shot.

There is an approaching black upright Ford just above the motorcyclist and that appears be a 1938/9 Ford Popular, so pre-war.

In front of the Impala is a related but newer E103A Ford Pop, they made those from 1953 to late 58, by which time it was Britains cheapest car...

1975 Ford Torino next to the bus. Everytime I see one of that generation of Torinos I get a queasy
feeling in my stomach. I had a 1973 and it was pig and a mess. I said I'd never own
another Ford because of it. And this car in the picture is the same color as the one I had.

Yes and no, the last version of the 500 Giardinera was sold as an Autobianchi. Autobianchi being a subsidiary of Fiat Automobili.

What in that picture identifies it as an Autobianchi?

yes, the Giardinera even kept the suicide doors to the end.

Although sold as an Autobianchi in most of Europe British sales for the model were branded Fiat.

When I was in college in the late seventies in London I had a landlady who bought a second hand 500 Giardiniera from a neighbour, and it was then about twelve years old.

She drove down from London to the depths of Cornwall - a journey of about 300 miles, which is nothing on your roads but a bit of a challenge in a car that didn't reach 60mph and she took about seven hours I recall, though it went faultlessly and came back again too.

I remember the neighbour replaced it with a Moskvitch estate....

Moskvitch estate - even the sedan/saloon has to be a unicorn anymore, an estate might be a sole survivor.

Somebody put the steering wheels on the wrong side! Chrysler quality control reaches a new low... :D

Australia, I presume. I recognize the Simca Aronde models, not sure what the larger vehicle between the Valiant and the Dodge is.

Yep, Oz. Export model or branch plant/market specific USDM cars are interesting to me, linked to the prewar era when American cars were generally the most robust vehicles available, and had a lot of cachet.

The car between the Valiant and Dodge is interesting, a 53-54 Mopar body with a 55-56 style front end. I think an Oz Chrysler Royal.
