Is that the new Toyota Previa?

    Juice you're correct...kind of.

The vehicle I posted is a Toyota Tarago, sold in Australia. However the same vehicle is sold in other markets as the Toyota Previa. Same vehicle I believe, just different badges.

andys120 - Let's figure out #2714 before moving on to your car.
  • lemkolemko Member Posts: 15,261
Uh, Opel Rekord? 1960 or 61?
  • imidazol97imidazol97 Member Posts: 27,691

Anyone going to take a shot at #2714??
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,672
You know your GMs, Lemko. It's a '61.

Likely those are 13 inchers, typical on econo cars of the era.

...those were sold at Buick dealerships in the late '50s and early '60s. Pontiac dealers had the Vauxhall Victor.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,507
2714 Looks like it has a Toyota badge...that's all I can tell, most of these non NA (and often non-Europe) cars are too hard

I found an Opel like that on ebay a few weeks ago
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
I'd guess it's a Corolla clone of some sort.

Might be an Avensis, but even that is styled a bit differently I believe.

Tatra 613, Tatras are interesting cool cars
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,672
Yep, Tatra 613s were made until '76 or so. I don't think Tatra is still in the car business.

2714 is indeed a Toyota, a Toyota Vios to be exact. They're sold all over Southeast Asia.

The hood ornament declares it as a Mercedes Benz...I'm unsure of the model, possibly a 300S?

I'm not sure which decade this car belongs in...probably late 40s.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,507
Geez it could be a lot of things - those postwar/prewar crossovers are tough.

    I'll guess a 170 V/S or maybe a prewar 230 or something

Nope...the goofy headlights seem to say Flaminia to me.

Didja ever see the abortion Raymond Loewy did on a Flaminia Sport chassis?

Funny thing, he's standing next to it like he was proud of it!!

1967 Lancia Flaminia 2.8 3C GT. The Flavias didn't have the hood scoop that this one does.

At first I thought it was a Gordon Keeble of some sorts (what a silly name too :P )
cause the front ends are similar.

Now that you mention it does look like a G-K but you're right on the money except it's a '66 Flaminia w a Touring body.

4 Triumph spitfires, different model years?

At least I think they are all spitfires.

They're all Spits from various years the weird one in yellow w the low bumper is an early model (ca. '62).

Boomchek's blue car is a Fiat 126 from the early 70s, IIRC it's based on the Fiat 600.

I don't care what it is, I WANT IT!!!

Eckually, looks like a 100-4 or 100-6, can't quite tell. Funny thing about those cars, the early ones had a 3 speed floor shift. There was actually a low first gear that they blocked out, so the transmission's 2nd gear became 1st gear. Reason? They got the tranny from some big old car or truck with a granny gear.
Very crude, very fun car. True motoring, all the wind, smells, vibration and engine noise a man can stand.

don't care what it is, I WANT IT!!!

It's yours for $26,000 or $25K with a busted OD.

It's a 1955 Healey 100-4 /BN1 and the add notes it has three speeds w OD. What would be the point of having the first gear if it was locked out? :confuse:
IIRC you can tell the four bangers by the triangular shape of the grille, 100-6s had an oval grille much like the 3000s.

  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
Pricey little bugger for a BN1....you can't even drive it without an O/D.

First gear is useless on the car, that 's why they lock it out and put OD on the other end. The OD is really more like a 4th gear, so it's necessary.

the Brits were always very undercapitalized, so they did weird stuff like this all the time, stealing out of the parts bin to build a "new" car. I wouldn't be surprised if there were scrap metal pieces from downed German aircraft in that car.

Looks like a Nissan badge, but other than that - no idea
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
Okay I'll give this one up because I doubt any of you will get it.

Nissan Cedric, sold all over Southeast Asia and Japan.

As this car was sold under three maker names. First guesser get treated to ice cream in California.
