    A mid 80s BMW 735i, perhaps?
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Look through the windshield before you answer.

    I agree too it's a 735i but I'll say it's a 1977 model.

The 80's models didn't have the body colored outline around the kidney grilles and they had black mirrors. This one had chrome mirrors which points to late 70's.

Because of the RHD it's probably a Toyota Highlander sold as something else in the Japanese market.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
True, but if you go to the countries where this is sold and ask for a Highlander, you will not receive this vehicle. You won't even receive a Toyota.

I believe it's called the Kluger from Toyota

Yep, the 7er is a 1977, most likely a 735 but there's no caption so I couldn't tell you which motor for sure.

Actually.. if it is a '77, it is most likely a 730i or 733i... with an outside chance at it being a 728i.. At least if it is a US model... I don't think we saw a 735i, until about '85 or '86....

Kluger it is. Hyundai had already claimed the 'Highlander' name in Australia for the diesel Terracan, so Toyota had to rename theirs.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Yep, Toyota Starlet GT, basically a 135hp, 1.3L turbocharged hatchback Tercel.

Probably an E23 I'd guess. The later 735i was a really good car.
  • bumpybumpy Member Posts: 4,425
Somebody's kei car, the photo's not big enough to tell whose. I'll guess a '97ish Suzuki, since they own the segment.

    Early 70s Mazda, I wanna say RX3

Was that Cedric an older model? The one that comes to mind for me is the one the Infinit M sedans is based on.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,488
for sure. Can't tell if it has a rotary badge, so it could be the piston engine varient. I think the RX-2 = 202, and the RX-4 = 303? Memory might be a little fuzzy here though.

I dunno what model the BMW is, but I see a tii badge on the grille

    Neat car

It's a Simca 1308, which was European Car of the Year in 1976. It as sold as a Chrysler and a Talbot.
  • ageorgeageorge Member Posts: 9
Not a 2002tii, probably a tricked up 2000, 1800, or 1600 four door. To the best of my knowledge there was no such car as a 2000tii, there were 2000tlux etc I think.
  • ageorgeageorge Member Posts: 9
Ok, if my vison was going it is a 2000ti lux dual carb version of the four door fast, but lousy carbs just like the 2002ti and 1600ti s before them. Higher standard of cabin etc.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,671
Well there was a 2000tii, as well as a 2000ti and tilux. The fact is that all of the small BMWs were offered in fourdoor versions in Europe but only a small number were offered in North America because of the high demand for the 1602 and (especially) 2002 models.

Small BMW 4doors had slightly different bodywork and were offered in 1500 1600 1800 and 2000 cc versions thru the 70s.

    The pictured car is a Euro-spec 1970 2000tii.

Yes, that Cedric from #2752 was a very old model, from the mid 80s or early 90s, I believe. When I went to Singapore, they were used everywhere as taxis. They're very roomy inside.

That car was rebadged and sold as the Chevrolet Monza in Brazil. We owned one.

It's interesting to see what's offered in the Brazilian market, a decade or more after it disappeared in the USA they were making and selling rebodied Willys Aero sedans in Brazil. For all I know they still sell 'em. ;)

I think they had these down there =>

Yep, they keep making models like that long after they disappear from the US.

Generally the Brazilian market gets their cars from Europe, but they are about a generation behind, some times half a decade.

    EASY.

Holden Monaro is what you have shown, although the LHD version is sold as the Chevrolet Lumina in the Middle East.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,494
Monaro, on the Omega platform that was also the Caddy Catera

Perhaps not as easy as you think. There aren't any four-door Monaros on the Holden motors website. That's a Holden Calais, if you look closely your can see the "Calais" lettering just below the rear door handle. I'm sure that it shares it's ancestry as Fin sez with the Opel Omega as does the look-alike Catera.

Monaros are coupes only. Holden builds piles of different models on its RWD platform (Commodore, Berlina, Calais, Monaro, Ute, Crewman, Statesman, and Caprice). While it did have its origins with the old Opel Senator, the platform has been tweaked, redesigned, and optimized for the ADM so many times that there's no Opel left in it anymore. Some of the Opel styling cues did last through the late 1990s before Holden went off in their own direction.

It's somebody's five-door hatchback that received the same sort of sedanized hackjob that produced the US Echo. Not a Toyota, though; looks like it's in the Renault display.
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
Oh, right I forgot about the name thing. Anyway, when I look at that car the first thing that comes to mind for me is Chevrolet Lumina.
  • navigator89navigator89 Member Posts: 1,080
Actually, #2804 was never offered as hatchback, rather a small wagon version was available.

    Any guesses for #2804?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,671
Well it looks a bit like this Renault Scenic wagon=>

    image

Frankly I find their nomenclature confusing, everything they make is either a Scenic or a Megane or both
