I prefer a Cadillac that is more simple, and classically elegant:
I was thinking along those lines... but would head over to the Lincoln side

though that Black color (I have on my '11 Explorer) is sharp, it's in short/no supply right now from the tsunami.

The lack of black paint reminds me of the article in last month's Consumer Reports about how many parts are imported on cars built here. It was shocking...
Mustang, Camaro, or Eclipse - which car has more North American content?
Surprise - the Mitsubishi.
Tundra pickup had more content than Chevy/Ford pickups, too.
Highlander more than "domestic" SUVs.
Camry more than Buicks and Fords is competes with.
It was really eye-opening. The auto industry has become globalized, like it or not.

Don't forget Fordlandia and Belterra down in your old neck of the woods. Ford established those rubber plantations in Brazil in the 20's to supply rubber for Dearborn.

I'll post the whole dash later.
No, not a Sunbeam Rapier, but it is British and from the same era.
.........as the Rapier covers many model years and body styles.
I'd post you a pic but Tinypic just went down.
I'll post the full pics when Tiny is working for me again.
I think that's a good guess... It looks like an updated version of my 2000CS.. and, the window buttons are in the right place....

and another to show they did come over to the US.
and finally the Victor 101
Can't identify the Ford, but I'd guess circa late fifties?
Odd indeed but I'm guessing the STOP lights and flashes as he comes alongside. Can anyone confirm this.

The big blue car with a light bar on top (even turned off) would get my attention way before the stop sign on the hood.
Ah, Wiki has a blurb on it:
"MSP vehicles also feature a clear plastic sign, referred to as a "hood light" or "hailer" or "shark fin" on the hood that lights up when activated. The historical use of this hood light dates from the time when a "side stop" patrol stop would be initiated by pulling up next to an offender and the Trooper would motion them to pull over in daylight; at night the hood light was illuminated displaying the words "State Police" and "STOP" (MSP no longer use the "side stop")." link
Notice the unusual domelight that is blue in front and red in back.
