Similar 4-holer Buick convertible across from it. Where in Nevada was this pix taken? Maybe they should have incoroprated Cinderella into the name with that big silver shoe, but then the cars would have turned into pumpkins at midnight.
One more piece of arcane American history for an Australian to share with you. I have just refreshed my memory of a bizarre story about the Silver Slipper which was in Paradise, an unincorporated town fringing Las Vegas,Nevada.
Almost inevitably for Las Vegas, it is supposed to involve Howard Hughes who acquired the casino in 1968, in large part because the rotating silver slipper apparently kept stopping, facing into his room at another nearby casino. His grip on reality was not great by this stage and he had the rotating mechanism disconnected and the slipper filled (supposedly with concrete)
Purportedly, Hughes was worried that the government were filming him through a camera hidden in the shoe.
OK. Here's my method.... The '58 had an oval ring around the slanted headlights, so right away this is a '59 or '60. The '60 had the parking lights in the bumper, and there was a slight rise on the bumper on both the right and left side. This bumper is straight and flat across the front. So that leaves the '59. I couldn't see much detail either on the parking lights, but the shape of the bumper nailed it. At least that's what I think....
I'll agree that the Buick wagon on the right is a '56. The light blue convertible pulling our is a '55 Buick, and the red convertible behind it is a '53 Buick (looks like a Buick sweep so far).
There's the prominent two-tone '56 Chevy. The black one parked looks like a '57 Dodge to me - behind it may be a '55-'56 Oldsmobile, but my monitor won't let me be sure.
The green one in the bottom with just the hood showing looks like another '55 Buick (the hood ornament is the major clue).

Your monitor renders colors a lot differently than mine. The '55 Buick 'vert is white on my screen, definitely a different color than the wagon which is a very light blue and the car on the foreground is a darker (but still light) blue, not green.
According to another site, this part was left behind at the scene of a hit and run fatal accident: Full size pic here Here's the news release from the police department: "This silver piece is a part that came off the suspect vehicle that fatally struck Mrs. Betty Wheeler on the evening of 4-7-12 in the northbound lane of Rosser Ave. (Rt. 340) near P. Buckley Moss Museum . Waynesboro Police is asking anyone who knows or sees a vehicle missing a piece that matches the one pictured to contact the Waynesboro Police Department at 540-942-6675 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-332-2017."
close. But not quite. Problem being the mystery piece has a more abrupt end on the right side, wherease the Ranger's piece extends about an inch or so to the headlight. Also, the upper and lower levels of the Ranger's grille are offset, wherease the mystery piece is a continuous line, as can be seen by the jagged piece protruding down on the right.
Is this a Ford witch hunt? haha.

I think that is Belgrade in the background - so it is a Zastava 600 - or conceivably a 750. THe badge is different from the contemporary Fiat, and it was in production for a good while longer.
The nose of the car on left appears to be a 54 Ford (note rust forming behind headlight trim ring!). Nearest car on left is a '56 Olds. Not sure of the exact year of the rest except the tu-tone '58 Impala h/t on the end.)
I can't clearly make out the tail light. If its full its a 57, if it is a chrome spear and a small round light its a 58. You're probably getting a clearer shot, so I suspect you are correct.
I remember seeing another Goggo pic in this topic but this one has a cool Stolz single wheel trailer! Wonder if Matchbox or some other toy maker ever produced a Goggomobil set like this?
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.

But, wgrafer said it's a 59 first so I'll let him tell.
Could be, could also be a '55, they were very similar>

No, but I have a huge store of absolutely useless knowledge!

I based its being a 56 on the side chome behind the rear wheel being higher.
Either your monitor or your eyes are better than mine!

What I like to call "cocktail party fodder."
I thought that might be a '54 Skylark but I checked and Skylarks had no portholes. Looks like a 1956 Century or Roadmaster convertible.
