Is it a relative of the old Mitsu Expo of the early 90s? Sort of resembles a 1st gen Mazda MPV with the style crease down the side.
  • yoribe2yoribe2 Member Posts: 65
The styling is too chintzy and old school to come from any Japanese manufacturer, so I would venture to guess it's a Hyundai or Kia model that was never available in the U.S. Look like it has a Dutch license plate; Korean makers have an increasing presence in Europe. The oval chrome badge on the hatch looks like a Kia's. :confuse:

Sorry, I forgot. It's a Sbarro Windhound. Sbarro is a Swiss specialty car maker. :P

Yes, 3353 is a Kia Joice. I think the new Kia Carens replaced. Another space wagon not sold here.

3375 is a Ford Escort, I believe the European model. They had them in India until the Ford Ikon replaced them.

The car in the picture is actually a Ford Orion, but all Orions were renamed Escort after 1995 so I give you partial credit. :D

Yep, a '77, just a bit better looking than a sedan but I'm sure no less awful to drive.

I know the LTD was used sometimes as a cop car, but that pic is a Fairmont IIRC. Late '70's easily.

    Yep, a '78 Fairmont.

In Brazil I think that model used the name "Logus". Weird.

VW had a clone of that, believe it or not. They had an alliance for a while they called AutoLatina. So you'd see Escorts and Loguses with VW badges and names.

    Strange period.

Ah, the original Nissan Silvia, designed by some German count. Nissan borrowed some styling cues from this hand-built puppy for a coupe concept at the Tokyo show, hopefully a preview of the next Silvia.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,507
Kind of has a line to it like the 65-69 Corvair

Somehow I think it is Japanese...I want to say Mazda
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,672
All good guesses but Bumpy's right, it's an original Silvia, a '65 in this case.

Original Bronco - could be anywhere from late '60s to a '77, I think. They are worth more if people leave the goofy rear fenders uncut.
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,672
    Correct, it's a '76.

'60 Buick. I can't quite count the 'potholes' or I would be able to narrow down the model. I think that flat-top style came in all of them.

any engine swaps done on this one?
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,672
It's a 1960 Invicta. The flat-top roofline w the extended rear was for four doors only, coupes of that year had a bubble-top roof IIRC.

Funny, for some reason I also thought of a Corvair.

That Buick looks like a good start towards a Batmobile. :D

Mk I Scirocco, as dubbers might say. Very handsome car.

Year I'll guess around 1984 or so.

  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,508
don't see many Sciroccos anymore that aren't rusted out.

And that Buick looks like the one Judge Reinholt drove in Fast Times (I forget the name he had for it, cruising mobile or something?)

That is a Scirocco S. They made them only for a year or two, definitely 1981, maybe 1980 also. I had a 1978 and I really wanted that cool spoiler for my car (I was 17 at the time).

The windshield banner gives that one away. It's an incredibly tricked out NSU Prinz. Looks a little bit like a squished early Corvair.

I think the last year for that first generation Scirocco is '81.. I'm pretty sure generation two started in '82... Which was also a very nice looking car...

I bought my first new car in '77, and wanted a Scirocco so bad, I could taste it..

Unfortunately, I was only making $2.30/hour.. :surprise:

Ah, I can read the fender badge....can't tell which engine is in that Goggomobile though...probably a four-stroke 600 or 700 cc.

any idea on this one? There's a hint in the license plate #s.
