I have a question for someone with more knowledge of Canadian models. This picture shows hood stripes and a hood bubble, but it appears to have no engine callout on the front fender. On the American version (Chevelle) that would indicate a six. Is it different north of the border?
That's areally good question Bhill2. I just went thru a bunch of Beaumont pix and none had the engine badges you'd see on their American equivalents.
Interesting. Thanks Andy. That earns you another question. Did the Beaumont use the analogous Chevy engines (250/307/327/396)?
I'm not sure but I'd guess so since AFAIK all Canadian Ponchos of that era used Chevy power as well as Chevy bodies/chassis.
Toyota Sienta. One oddity is that there is a wheelchair accessible version sold as a mainstream model. That is a market that Toyota has frequently addressed with specific models
Must be 1959-60. I'll pick off what looks like an XK140, in white, about 3/4 of the way back, behind an Olds.
Good eye on the Jag but I can't tell if it's a 140 or 150. There's what looks like an Xk-140 to the right of the parked Budweiser truck behind a 54-ish Olds.
Yeah, I can't think of a town in jersey that has a 4-lane road next to the beach. And such a narrow beach at that. Oh, and those appear to be palm trees.

I am leaning towards XK150 now, grille looks wider. Interesting that most cars appear to be late model, maybe climate related - I see 50s pics from this area with occasional 30s cars still on the road.

I noticed that too, this is obviously a prosperous area. My candidate for oldest car would be the '49-'51 Ford to the left of the striped tent on the right.
Two cars back of the parked step van on the right is a white Corvette C1 (2 headlights=pre-1958). There's a high proportion of roadsters and convertibles in this photo.
I'm going with a post-war (but not by much) Chrysler.
You're in the right area...anyone wanna guess year/model.
A difficult task because years '46, '47, and '48 were so similar. Because of the roof rack I'll go with it's being the cheapest model, the Royal. I'll guess 1947.
(Andy, I'll be in your neck of the woods in a few weeks for my annual climb of Mt. Washington. You have a beautiful state.)
VW K70, predecessor to the Passat. You can see the NSU roots in that greenhouse.
Exactly, the NSU K70 design was inherited by Volkswagen AG when they bought NSU in 1969. It was the first FWD VW-badged car and as such the ancestor of every modern VW and Audi.
This is a Simca Aronde and the model is probably a "Rue De La Paris" which was probably thought chic to the rural French market of the time but sounded a bit tarty in retrospect....
The car had a three part rear window to 1956 but this model was only 1955 -6 - after that a revised version with wrap around rear window was offered.
It is basically a Grand Vision but the latter had script trim on the front wing which I can't see here.
The Aronde was IIRC France's most popular during the1950s. There were many versions most being pillared sedans and wagons. The pillar-less hardtops were I believe the top models, this one being ID'ed as a Simca Aronde 1300 Grand Large which apparently was a subset of the Rue de Paris. RDPs had two tone paint and other luxe items (a clock!)
Only (approx) 1,000 Packard 250 convertibles made in 1952. Probably well under 100 exist today in some form. I like this car very much except for the wheels. So much nicer with full caps IMO:
This is a Denzel - VW based and from Austria - they made cars for a few years in the early 50's.
Oh man, you are good! It's a Denzel 1300 but I haven't been able to ascertain the degree to which it was VW based (engines? chassis? etc?). Evidently only about 300 were made from the early 50s thru '58. Herr Denzel had a hand in designing the BMW 700 and is said to have advised the Quandt family not to sell BMW to Daimler-Benz in the late 50s.
