    I agree....looks like a late 40's Talbot-Lago Record,...
  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,670
Y/ou guys are sharp. It's a 1949 Talbot-Lago Record. The French Talbot-Lagos, Delages and Delahayes were the high style sporty lux-mobiles of the late 40s.

When I was a kid, I thought those cars were pretty ugly, but I see them as being fairly stylish now. Then again, many cars were at that time.

I still have a thing for these:

Definitely one of my favorite model name badge fonts on a car.

Yep, styling by Italian stylist Farina.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the Nash car.

Lost wrench always nails 'em - amazing sometimes! Best I could do without seeing the front end was 55-57.

Fin, I think those mid 50's AMC cars were stylish too. But maybe too stylish for the time. I wonder if they had come out in the latter 50's if they would have been more successful? That was a wide open period for design.

I believe that is a Daimler of the type favored by Queen Elizabeth back in the 50s. I wouldn't know the model name.

    I think that's a mid-late 50s Austin Princess. I have seen them wearing Rolls-Royce grilles.

Sorry Andy -Fintail is closer. This is the Vanden Plas Princess 4 Litre, which was the successor to the Austin Princess. They made this car until 1967, mostly for the wedding and funeral trade.
And yes there was a fashion for fitting them with Rolls Royce grilles, although probably that has died out by now.

My only quibble is that it isn't an Impala; it's a Bel-Air.

'66 or '67 Pontiac GTO. I can't see the grill enough to determine the difference.

    That Corvette is a '65?
  • texasestexases Member Posts: 11,107
That beige/tan car looks like a '65 Riviera, except the grill appears to have an extra vertical divider. ??

You did do well, especially considering it's a yank tank. I'm impressed. I was just being a hard-a**.

Yes, a ZB Magnette - it is different from my earlier ZA as the chrome strip on the front wing is straight whereas my ZA has a curved trim over the front wheel arch. - nice car

And the green car is a TD which I believe was MG's first lhd offering....
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,229

Looks like a 4 door Fiat 600, never seen one before.
  • magnettemagnette Member Posts: 4,229
Well, it is, but not a Fiat, and not exactly a 600. Also not Italian.

    G'day

Pretty sure that is a Spanish SEAT 800 that derived from the SEAT 600 that came from the Fiat 600

    Cheers

Yup, 1958 MG Magnette ZB and an MG-TD. I've never thought about it but I guess you're right about the TD being their first LHD offering. I don't think I've ever seen a LHD TC although it was the car that started the sports car craze of the 50s in the USA.

    Here's a Magnette ZA (like yours?)>

Yes Graham - The Seat 800 - from the 600D - I think this was unique to Spain but may have been sold elsewhere -never saw one anywhere else though..

Yes that one is like mine and an original colour too. Much better shut-lines than mine- the bonnet on my car got twisted years ago when it was closed with some wrench or whatever in the way, apparently, and the doors on mine aren't this good either. I may well have seen this car as there are a couple around that are this shade of green.

It's a 1970 Datsun 2000, the last year before the roadster was dropped in favor of the 240Z IIRC.

Heh, looks like a '57 Chevy Bel Air, one of my least favorite cars, next to a '70 VW Squareback, one of my wife's least favorite cars.

Are those Cali plates on the Chevy? Tahoe area?

How do you know that's a '70 Squareback?

My folks had a '67. Drove it cross country in the summer of '71.
