Looks like a CR-V with carbon fiber cladding - an homage to the Aztec?
  • iluvmysephia1iluvmysephia1 Member Posts: 7,709

Body style looks better than an Aztec, though, to me.

Sure, but the cladding has that look, perhaps more like the older Outbacks around the fenders.
  • iluvmysephia1iluvmysephia1 Member Posts: 7,709
Never seen cladding like that before. Looks like sound deadening material!

I think eventually, history will be kind to the Aztek, somewhat like it is to the AMC Eagle now. Definitely ahead of its time. In the case of the Aztek, unpretty CUV things are all the rage now.

The French do like inside-out stuff. Just park that ride in front of the Pompidou.

    That's large-scale inside-out! Whew!

I think the adding on the Citroen Cactus is meant to be to protect the flanks against door scrapes and shopping trolley type damage - although I think it would be better if they also did the wheel arches as those get scratched too.

Going by the gas cap door seam, I though there was something on the wheel arches. Dark chocolate there. :)

Citroen Cactus, proving the French still have a sense of humor and don't take everything seriously. Kind of a neat thing in a way. I assume those are some kind of manufacturer or test plates.

Yes, the centered M denotes manufacturer plates used for vehicles being tested on state roads.

Nice. I suspect Detroit urban roads can beat any private torture test track B)

Yup the Citroen C4 Cactus was spotted driving around the Detroit area...a possible prelude to US Sales?

I dunno know about that Cactus, but Citroen used to build some neat, unique looking and engineered vehicles. Might be fun to have them in the US (provided reliability improved)!

Interesting, there was a rumor about Peugeot coming back to the US but that faded away. Maybe a tie-in with Nissan/Renault via their tie-in with Dongfeng? Or even with Volvo via Dongfeng?

Citroens are highly rated by JD Power.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,469
Or just via Citroen without a tie in from our world leading social/environmental criminal most favored "partner"?

This kind of thing almost writes itself

Yup, it's a 1974 TVR 2500M one of many permutations of the original TVR Griffith. The 2500M was powered by the 2.5 liter Triumph straight six which worked even better in the TVR than in the TR250/TR-5 because the glass- bodied 2500M was lighter.
I drove my cousin's and it was a blast.

Add animal abusers to that list, fintail. Certain Chinese groups are still raising cats and dogs just to torture them mercilessly then boil them, cut them up or blow torch them to death. Then sell the poor animals' meat. And, despite worldwide protest against the Yulin Dog "Festival", the Chinese government refuses ta see the need to stop this horrific abuse. Tortured to draw adrenaline into their systems to supposedly " tenderize" their meat so it tastes better. Strange old medicine man theories that are basically just...theories.

Poor babies. Wish more could be done. I really do.

Companies that moved their production to China deserve what they get. That country is no friend to anyone but itself. When GM, Apple. etc. get screwed (and they will over there) I don't want to hear the whining and plea for US support.

Yup, that's a 1960-ish Skoda Felicia from the former Czechoslovakia.

The permanent top version was called the Octavia>

The model names Felicia and Octavia are both still in use by Skoda Automotive (a division of VAG).

Judging by the width of those whitewalls I'd guess earlier, perhaps a first year car--1958?

The ad says 1960 but the site I found it on says it's a 1959. Guess the whitewalls are period correct.

You can buy an MGA or Sprite, newly restored, for way less than it would cost to restore it, yourself.

Hands down the most fun car in the world to drive IMO. Driving at 50 mph feels like 150. Windows? Top? Heat? Weatherproofing? BAH!

    Drive on regardless!

Driving in its purest form. But this car would be very scary to operate at freeway speeds and with giganto SUVs hurtling past you.

Daunting words from a man who drives a MINI. So, you'd really be bug-eyed in that Sprite?

  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
