Looks like the Old Man of the Mountain on the license plate. N.H. lost a great attraction when that rock formation collapsed. But, the old man still lives on U.S. quarters dated 2000.

  • andys120andys120 Member Posts: 23,672
It was a real shock when the Old Man fell off the Mountain. He overlooked Profile Lake for 10,000 years but he still can be seen on our plates.

Yep, it's Honda's little mid-engined Kei roadster, the S660, unfortunately NSH.

Looks like a 70 Grand Prix, but something doesn't look quite right. Could it be Canadian? If so, no idea of the name.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 53,526
it's one of those Canadian Pontiacs on a Chevy chassis I believe. Leviation? something like that.

I thought we just had this? Maybe, in a different discussion?

That is one busy front. Not my favorite Pontiac year, but another period correct dark green color.

Yeah it is Canadian, and it's a 1970 Pontiac. Like all Canadian market Ponchos back then it has a Chevy chassis and running gear (454 V8/Turbo4000). It was sold as a 1970 Pontiac Laurentian.

I'm a real minority on the mid 60's Continentals because I like their bigger stance.
  • Mr_ShiftrightMr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481
I like them too even though I make fun of the size. For such a large car, they didn't go to excess on it. I always like the interiors, but I never had much confidence in their durability.
  • berriberri Member Posts: 10,165
I think you see some styling cues and similarities to Elwood Engel's quick surgeries for that same time period at Chrysler. Given design lead times back then, I'm pretty sure he likely had a hand in that Continental update.

The front end was prettier (IMHO) on the earlier models. Here is a 64

Agreed, the whole design was better before they started cluttering it up in the mid-60s.

Dolomite Sprint to be exact. Signifying the 2.0 DOHC engine. I think this one is a 75. either that or a 78

That's correct, it's a 1967 Toyota Stout, probably related to the HiLux.
Frankly, I've never heard of 'em.

A couple of cars come to mind with that look - Ferrari 212 Inter, and Cunningham C3. Both by Vignale, I think.

I saw one a few months back as part of an appraisal of an "estate" at an old farm in California. There were a few interesting cars in the "barn" but the Stout was so badly deteriorated I wrote it off as junk. It had been outside for years and years.

You're close, it's a 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico, designed by Michelotti when he worked for Vignale that was driven by Luigi Chinetti in the Carrera Panamericana. Power camefrom a 4.1 Liter V-12 (larger than the later 3 liter V12s that powered the famous 250 series)

Center stage - 1952 Kaiser Virginian.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,517
I think the older car behind the Kaiser is a Dodge or Plymouth coupe, maybe 1936.
