That's something you never see on the road.. Pinto.

Looks like a '67 Bonneville or Catalina (guessing Bonnie)

Latest picture, red Volvo between the LTD wagon and a ford econoline pop top van. Hard to tell on iPad, but front looks slightly rounded so I'm guessing a 164.

Or maybe that is a Renault. Had to see rear behind trees. I need better eyes or a bigger screen.

The mystery car is a Renault. Clicking on the image should enlarge it, but I notice sometimes that function is absent.

Maybe around a 55 Studebaker. When that design came out somewhere around 53 or 54, it was very advanced for its time. I think it still looks good today.

for the Renault, I think michaell's Renault 16 suggestion is correct.

Agree with 16. The R4 had a C pillar that tilted the opposite direction of the car in the mystery pic.

Raymond Loewy, who was involved in some of those Studebaker designs, was a Frenchman as I remember. I wonder if he also did work for Renault?

Apparently it's a '54 and very slick in a year of mostly dumpy cars. IMHO the original Loewy
coupes were better looking than the later Hawks w their T-Bird inspired rooflines or the Avanti w it's dicordant styling.

Yep, a '60 Valiant complete w fake tire outline on trunk.

Oldest car would be the white over Blue Pontiac on the right 1953 or '54?

The white over red car with the outside spare between the '57 Olds and the red '59 Ford wagon is a Metropolitan coupe. Those were actually built in the UK by Austin and sold thru Nash or Hudson dealers.

2 corvairs, 2 white Valients, and way in the back next to the blue 50s Caddy, is a white Chevy, that I can't decide if it is a 64 Malibu, or a Chevy II Nova.

My firs thought was that car to the right of the blue ('55/'56) Cadillac is a white Ford Falcon (first gen'60-'63) but you can barely make out that the taillights are squarish so I'd guess Chevy II/Nova ca. 1963. Good call!

Noting the odd faux grilles in the white Corvair in the front row I thought that it might be a '64 and the only one from that MY in the shot which dates to that year.

Nope, did some checking and those "grilles" were on '62 'Vairs only.

Does anyone see a newer MY than 1963 in this scene?

The oldest car looks like it's the 1955 Chevy that can be seen past the Corvair 4dr.

Headlights to right are a 59 Olds. The white coupe behind the 62 Pontiac is a 60 either Chrysler or Desoto.

Can't tell if that white Buick 4dr in the middle is a 63 or 64?

I'm pretty sure that Buick is a '63. The molding containing the portholes was a distinguishing feature of that MY, in '64 it got longer and narrower. The '64s had a more prominent grille (carried over to '65/'66 IIRC)

That white Corvair brings back major memories. I had one just like it, just one year earlier, as the first car that was really mine. Four-speed. An earlier owner (there were several) had leaned on the engine a little, so it was a bit of a sleeper. Loved the thing, but it would have been nice if they had put real brakes on it. I think I saw Jesus once while sprinting down a hill with a curve at the bottom.

far left, an electric 1975ish Firebird. To the right, a nice red Fiat X1/9. and I think a Ford Fiesta right behind the Firebird. Buick Apollo in front of the Fiat.

Good spotting. Now just for the 2 cars hidden by people. The one at left would have been brand new at the time.
  • fintailfintail Member Posts: 58,528
No takers, or holiday weekend? :)

Hidden car at left appears to be a then-new 280ZX 2+2, car at right maybe a ~70 Cougar.

I had forgotten about the Apollo. And it's a '75, first year for the boxier styling, last year for the Apollo name. In '76 it became the Skylark.

You caught them in a time out. The game is called 'clubber', the guy with the golf club chases everybody from one number to the next, anyone that gets to the last number without getting hit wins!

I don't know what "seppuku" is, but it can't be good ! LOL
I checked and the page sometimes loads in a normal format and sometimes looks like a no-graphics page. At least it knows I "had" 538 pictures in a library. I kept looking for a note saying they want $1 per picture to recover them for me.

I had noticed before there is absolutely no contact method to get a live person on photobucket. It's like Facelessbook. Even Amazon and Symanetc have great contact method, chat, telephone, email after they've verified you're a real stakeholder.

Photobucket, not so much. But they have contacts with all the attempts to get you to buy prints and merchandise.

Your $1 per pic idea isn't far off - I hope you have copies of those pics.

Their latest move is so bad, I almost have to think they have been hacked, and the new policy is a joke.

Nothing on there is anything I worry about. I went through them several months back after they changed the layout of the library of pictures. It's next to impossible to be able to delete or download a bunch of pictures. I decided then it had become unusable. I just hadn't looked for another place to hold pictures.

It seemed like they were more interested in Facebook pictures than in real uploaded pictures.

I was joking about the ransom of $1 per picture. I suspect their setup crashed a server. Probably incompetence.

I also noticed they flash up a lot of what appear to be customer-uploaded pictures when logging on. And they were different from login to login. I wondered if they were showing my pictures to other customers as splash screens.

I crashed my XP HP laptop yesterday morning. It didn't shut down when I put it to sleep, so I Off-buttoned it. Then it wouldn't boot past an initial Windows logo. No Safe Mode. But reconnecting hard drive to the Win 10 laptop made the Win 10 fix the Windows problem on it.Took hard drive out and connected up to IDE/SATA USB setup I have for cloning. I was able to recover all the files with GetDataBack if I needed to. Luck. Better than trying to fix the Windows using the restore CDs where it offers the Dashboard with repair as an option.

I have an old Win 7 laptop, the battery just crapped out after almost 8 years. I'll need to remedy that, I have some files on it that I don't think are backed up. Luckily, it was replaced a couple years ago.

I'll take the 77 Thunderbird under the leasing sign.   What is the partially blocked wagon?  I'm thinking a Buick.

pair of 77 or so Camaros on the road in front. I liked that vintage. And far back left a green Vega, and I think the nose of a white Monza.

that wagon, just based on where it is, I would assume it is a Malibu!
