Hi Everyone,I am looking for VW JETTA SE lease in chicagoland
My dealer quoted sale price as $17,800 for finance and $19,150 for lease He told MF is 0.0001 and RV is 46%.
he said it is not possible to match the sale price of finance to lease. Is that true?? Also please let me know the best deal you come across on leasing Jetta se.
Thanks, Krishna
Yes, there are incentives available for purchase that don't apply if you are leasing.
The base MF is .00001 (4 zeros); confirm the MF your dealer is quoting. Could be marked up for extra profit.
I'm located in South Florida and I'm currently leasing a 2015 Jetta SE. My lease ends this December and I'm looking to lease the 2017 Jetta SE automatic. I've been offered pull ahead (they pay my remaining payments) and the model year event incentive. However, I'm not sure if I should just wait till the lease is up and hope there are better incentives in December/ wait for the 2018 model or go with what is being offered now.
I've been getting a lot of high offers $250/mo. pre tax with no money down. I think this is significantly high for a model on its way out. Any advice on how I can position myself for a deal with the following terms: 36 months/10k, service included, no down, no tax, tag, fees etc. Also, curious to know what the MF should be for this model (Jetta SE) and my location (South FL).
Since I'm a woman going to dealerships on my own I feel like the salespeople I've dealt with try to talk down to me and up-sell me, so I'd appreciate any helpful feedback. Thanks in advance!

.00001 and 46% for 36/15; $1250 lease cash.
I did a similar deal a year ago - leased a 2016 SE. Only first payment due at signing, and it included some mileage and damage charges from my previous (non VW) lease. I'm paying $226/mo with 8% tax.
Yes, I think you can do better.
Do some price research, and understand all the numbers being used in the lease calculation. Use the articles at this link to help:
Do the MF and residuals being quoted apply to a 2017 Jetta S 1.4T manual trans? Does the lease cash also apply? What is the general rule of thumb on discount off of MSRP? thanks.

No difference in the numbers or incentives based on transmission choice.
We don't track pricing - use the 'make / model / year' pull downs for links to the price tools.

Okay, so I went this weekend to get some more solid numbers on a GLI and I was left very dissapointed. Can you please help give me some insight here? Tell me if you agree that this is high and maybe what I should do?
VW GLI DSG 36/15k Indiana (7% tax)
MSRP - $30,185 Selling Price - $26,700 (listed online for $24,395, but they claimed "that's not for a lease") Doc fee - $300 License fee - $60 Out of pocket - $1,000 Monthly - $375
I apologize I didn't get more detailed numbers, guess I was a bit miffed at the whole thing and left.

00050 and 52%.
I get $350/mo with tax, using your prices. Confirm the cap cost amount, and what they added to the selling price to get there.
MF may also be marked up.
Yes, there are different incentives for a purchase, than for a lease. Prices for leases are often higher.

Thanks a lot. I'm going to go back and talk to them again. I have suspicions they jacked the MF up. I asked them if it was .0005, and at first he looked at me in a daze, then finally answered "Oh, oh yea that, uh, yea that's what it is I believe." I told them about my situation with my current lease and I have stated I will not go for those numbers and they said to come back in with my current car and "we'll see what we can do".
What is the current MF and Residual on the 2017 Jetta S with AT? Can someone post the numbers for 36/10 and 36/12?
I've been quoted $20135 MSRP and $14285 purchase price.
Thank you in advance.
.00001 and 49% / 48%
$1250 lease cash
Be careful - that purchase price may be just that. A price for purchase, not a lease. Don't be surprised if that number increases when you tell them you are leasing. Different incentives for purchase vs. lease.
Hi looking to lease a 2017 Jetta SEL. Vehicle MSRP 26,270, RV 45% , 15k miles with $2k down. I was offered $175 monthly payments including taxes at end of August. Went in 3 days ago and now they are offering $190 montly payments due to decrease in incentives and RV decreased by 1%. Is $175 monthly pmts including taxes realistic monthly payment for someone with good credit score (<700-730)? As now, they are giving rebates around 7k bringing car price to roughly $19,170 with 2k down totaling $190/ monthly pmts including taxes? Considering 2018 models will be coming out soon should msrp decrease on 2017 Jetta SEL? Will leasing 2017 vehicles still be possibly once 2018 models come in? Wondering if i should wait until end of month or until 2018 models come in to get better deal on 2017 jetta sel.

.00001 and 45%; $1900 lease cash on SEL 36/15
With your prices, I get $204/mo plus tax. Ask the dealer what adjusted cap cost they are using to get the $190/mo payment quote.
I can't imagine discounts getting any larger than $7K (30%, almost), and, as inventory starts to shrink, the odds start to tilt back towards the dealer.
Support will eventually end on 2017 models, but nobody knows when that will be.
Current programs are valid until 10/2/17, so no rush to do anything immediately.
This is the info dublin volkswagon provided: Net cap cost : $18,069.02 / money factor : .00001 / 36 months / residual value for 15k is 45% of MSRP: 26170.
I believe they changed the vehicle. They have two vehicles with the exterior and interior i wanted but one is 26270 and other is 26170. Looks like they are qouting me on 26,170 msrp.
Is there a recommended leasing calculator i can use to calculate monthly payment myself? And with this info is $190 momthly payment realistic? Would you say this is a good deal?
How much of an acquisition fee or disposition fees should i expect to pay on 2017 sel jetta models? Are these fees negotiable? What other fees should i expect to pay if i lease a vehicle?
I am aware of monthly paymemts which normally include taxes. I know i can deal with fees if i exceed mileage or damage vehicle over normal wear and tear. The only other fees i came across where acquisition and disposition? Just curious if these are normal fees in leasing vehicle? Are they negotiable? And how much of these fees should i expect to pay on 2017 SEL.
Lastly, would leasind a 2018 jetta SEL get me a better deal. I here that rebates can be higher on new vehicles that hit the lot.

Thanks for all your help.
The residual is calculated against the full MSRP - bottom line number of the factory window sticker - sounds like one has an extra accessory that accounts for the $100 difference

$625 acquisition fee and a few hundred for the disposition fee; these are mandated by VW Credit and are not negotiable. You pay the disposition fee at the end of the lease, if you don't buy or lease another VW.
I don't know when the 2018 Jettas will be released; they will be brand new, from the tires up. Probably can get a great deal on a 2017, while they are in stock.

What is the adjusted cap cost - the $661 due is not enough to capture all the taxes and fees.
(I test drove a GLI a couple months ago - though I drove a stick shift. Agreed about the fun factor!)

Guessing that they are marking up the money factor, or that $25,788 is the selling price and not the full adjusted CAP cost. Adding the $625 acquisition fee only gets us to $310/mo.+tax, or about $341/mo.

Thank you for the breakdown. I was really pleasantly surprised by this car, but not sure how hard I should/can push for a sweeter deal in the month of September.
I got the following quote for a '17 Jetta SE automatic. Trying to make sure it is a good deal. I have A+ credit.
MSRP $23,345 Monthly: 155/mo 36 months 12000 Miles
Total Due At Signing $2987 ($1000 cash plus $1987 for tax/title/fees).
I have reached out to the sales person for the sale price and cap cost(probably won't know til tomorrow). Is there anything else i need to get in order to validate if this is a good deal or not?

We suggest you restructure the deal to only pay the first payment and DMV costs up front - roll all other taxes and fees into the lease payment.
The cap cost will be a good number to have, so we can ensure the MF isn't marked up.

If I add $625 acq.fee + roll in the $349 1st payment to the CAP cost, then with adjusted CAP of $26,762, I get a payment of about $351/mo, after 10% sales tax is added.
I'd say you are right on the money Can you do better? Not sure, but $4500 off MSRP is pretty good on a GLI, I would think.
I have a trade in worth $3100. That is being used to pay the fees below which come out to $2726. It is also being used to pay for the first month of the lease as well as $6 of the monthly cost. This is a NJ lease, so i understand the taxes are done a bit differently both in terms of how they are calculated, and how the trade in affects it.
164 tax 255 state reg fee 398 doc 27.36 tax on doc 7.50 nj tire tax 625 bank fee 250 clean/prep/gas 1000 additional down payment.
MSRP is 23345. He's telling me they are using a 47% residual and an adjusted cap cost $16300. . I am assuming this is including the 1000 i am putting down.

I also was able to get them down to $145/mo now instead of 149/mo. He's saying that not a cent lower. He claimed that they arent getting anymore 17s as they are all going to Texas and Florida (due to the hurricane) so inventories in the northeast are thinning out. Whether or not thats true is up for debate...

I get the same payment on the listed deal. $4100 is a lot to put upfront on a lease, though.
This deal is for a 2017 Jetta SEL. I was thinking much lower than this. Is there anything other than the selling price that I should be trying to change?

I asked what the MF was on the GLI lease quote, and the dealer stated it was .00071 and the residual is $15,441 @ 53%..So it looks like they are marking up the MF, not sure how much interest that adds, or if I should just tell em to bring it back down to the Sept base MF.

I asked what the MF was on the GLI lease quote, and the dealer stated it was .00071 and the residual is $15,441 @ 53%..So it looks like they are marking up the MF, not sure how much interest that adds, or if I should just tell em to bring it back down to the Sept base MF.
Politely tell them you won't sign a deal unless the base MF is used.
Comments

You're in no rush - unless you want a 2017, in which case inventory is dwindling. But, the 2018, I think, will be an all new model.

The payment you say you pay for your Jetta of $226 is that taxes in or plus Tax?

VW GLI DSG
36/15k
Indiana (7% tax)
MSRP - $30,185
Selling Price - $26,700 (listed online for $24,395, but they claimed "that's not for a lease")
Doc fee - $300
License fee - $60
Out of pocket - $1,000
Monthly - $375
I apologize I didn't get more detailed numbers, guess I was a bit miffed at the whole thing and left.
I get $350/mo with tax, using your prices. Confirm the cap cost amount, and what they added to the selling price to get there.
MF may also be marked up.
Yes, there are different incentives for a purchase, than for a lease. Prices for leases are often higher.

Be careful - that purchase price may be just that. A price for purchase, not a lease. Don't be surprised if that number increases when you tell them you are leasing. Different incentives for purchase vs. lease.

Test drove a Jetta yesterday to lease for 36/10. Based on what i'm seeing here and elsewhere their first quote seems pretty not-great:
Michigan
2017 Jetta S AT
Sale price: $19895
Down: $700
Residual: $10082
Monthly: ~$185
Thanks much

Thanks for all your help.
Thanks,
Roro120
We suggest you build your own lease calculator:
https://www.edmunds.com/car-leasing/calculate-your-own-lease-payment.html
As a point of reference, I am paying $226/mo for my 2016 Jetta SE, so under $200/mo for a one year newer SEL is a good deal, in my book.

I don't know when the 2018 Jettas will be released; they will be brand new, from the tires up. Probably can get a great deal on a 2017, while they are in stock.

Cap cost is $25,788. Residual is 53% at $15,441.
That would be $292/mo.+tax, or about $321/mo.
Guessing that they are marking up the money factor, or that $25,788 is the selling price and not the full adjusted CAP cost.
Adding the $625 acquisition fee only gets us to $310/mo.+tax, or about $341/mo.

I got the following quote for a '17 Jetta SE automatic. Trying to make sure it is a good deal. I have A+ credit.
MSRP $23,345
Monthly: 155/mo
36 months
12000 Miles
Total Due At Signing $2987 ($1000 cash plus $1987 for tax/title/fees).
I have reached out to the sales person for the sale price and cap cost(probably won't know til tomorrow). Is there anything else i need to get in order to validate if this is a good deal or not?
The cap cost will be a good number to have, so we can ensure the MF isn't marked up.

164 tax
255 state reg fee
398 doc
27.36 tax on doc
7.50 nj tire tax
625 bank fee
250 clean/prep/gas
1000 additional down payment.
MSRP is 23345. He's telling me they are using a 47% residual and an adjusted cap cost $16300. . I am assuming this is including the 1000 i am putting down.
What do you think of this deal?

I also was able to get them down to $145/mo now instead of 149/mo. He's saying that not a cent lower. He claimed that they arent getting anymore 17s as they are all going to Texas and Florida (due to the hurricane) so inventories in the northeast are thinning out. Whether or not thats true is up for debate...
$4100 is a lot to put upfront on a lease, though.
