Hello all and happy New Year. I'm looking to find the MF/Residual for the Impreza Sedan 2.0i CVT. For NYC and for 3/30K miles. Also I've heard from a couple of people now that Subaru doesn't really haggle on prices and that all dealerships are pretty much the same price wise. Any truth to this? Thank you!

You can negotiate a price lower than sticker, but Subarus are so darn popular that you don't see a huge amount of discounting.

Thanks for this. Just got back from the dealer. They wouldnt budge on lowering the price from msrp. The best they could offer me for a 2017 2.0i base Sedan CVT selling at $20225 was $250 a month for 3yrs/30K miles with 1st month payment down and DMV fees. They said for me to get it down to my target of $160 a month I'd have to put down $3800....which i was not doing. I didnt even bother asking what the MF/residual would be as i wasnt liking the numbers being thrown at for a base car.

Gonna go see if I have better luck with Honda and hopefully get a Fit or a Civic around the $150 mark. Sucks too cause its snowing in NYC now, a Subaru wouldve been fun to drive in today.. oh well.

I think you may be right. I've leased before, never gotten under $250 for anything. But this is my wife's first car leasing and she's determined to not want to spend more than $150 a month. It's quite the task she put on me, but I'll keep on looking. You think maybe Kia or some other brand would get me better luck towards my goal?

Unlikely, without some money down.

I'm in a '16 Jetta SE for $225/mo with tax. Would have been closer to $200/mo, but I rolled in some costs from my previous lease into the new one.

1. Are the money factor and residual values consistent with my location and model choices?
   
2. Has the dealership increased the money factor?
   
3. The monthly payment (excluding tax, title, registration, etc.) is $332. That doesn't seem right for a car costing $26K. What should I do to get a more reasonable price?
   

For comparison, a similarly optioned 2017 Outback Limited (w/ EyeSight) is only $4 extra per month, but that car costs nearly $34K.

Dealer has taken the maximum markup on the money factor. (.00085, not .0085)
I get $315/mo.+tax, using the dealer's numbers, but you have a $595 acquisition fee unaccounted for, so that could be it.

The markup is adding about $22/mo. to the price.

Also, you've picked the highest trim line. Typically (and, in this case), higher trim lines have lower residuals. For example, the Premium trim line residual is 3% higher.

The Outback has a higher residual percentage. That won't do you much good, if that's not the car you want, though. Too bad you can't get a hatch in the WRX, any more.
