Yeah, the options affect invoice, but when you look up invoice here, we give you the invoice and MSRP on those items too. And any special color bumps in price. About the only make we don't do that for is Honda, because they have dealer installed options.
For example:
Out the door price: the AWD XLE: $27000 (my buddy's)
Out the door price: the AWD SE: $30800 (mine)

Anyway. Now I am looking to get a RAV4 LE. Do TOYOTA dealers not share that practice (advertising just for the car then add a bunch of DIO)? At least one of them told me there are dealer installed options and they cost extra.
A guy at a different dealership told me a barebone LE (with carpet which seems to be mandatory) is just shy of $25,700 OTD (zip 75240). Assuming $400 doc fee and tax @ 6.2%, the sale price is about $23,800.
That is higher than the TMV (23022), and the costco program (23291), and truecar (23354) but now I am worried those prices would end up being just for the car, like the Hondas.
I am certain this guy is behind his words (no options other than the carpet, already subtracted the 1000 cash). He actually got me a barebone highlander last year while everyone else just tried to sell cars with lots of options. And unlike all the other places that try to get you there, he's the one who suggested discussing numbers over emails. Should I negotiate for more?
Right, I didn't buy that highlander. I got an Odyssey.
have negotiated four Toyota purchases in 15 years...helps that my Dad has worked for Toyota/Lexus for over 25 years. He couldn't even give me the deals I negotiated. Lucked up on our Prius and bought it when sales tanked due to safety concerns back in 2009/10. Want to buy in 4-6 weeks but will hold out, just worried 0% interest won't last long.
appreciate any starter numbers. I'll take any model, just looking for best deal.
Since the MSRP & Invoice prices quoted are confusing and inconsistent with Edmunds, I got an Out-the-Door price (includes, tax, license, $429 doc. fee, plus $1500 rebate) of $33,386.
I have not negotiated yet. Is this decent? How low should I ask for?
I bought the Prius 2nd Gen. mid-range package at Longo Toyota El Monte back when there was a Waiting List and no room for negotiating.
Now shopping for a new car, I want to bargain as aggressively as possible.
I've been going back & forth between the Toyota Rav4 LE and the Honda CR-V EX.
The CR-V EX has some upfront bells & whistles I like: Keyless start, side camera
The Rav4 LE does not have the Keyless start that I'm used to with my Prius.
I don't want to step up to the XLE because I don't need a power liftgate or moonroof
I know all 2017 Toyotas have the Safety Package as Standard now.
My additional research says Long Term Reliability for the Rav4 rates higher than the CR-V. Would you all agree?
Another thing I've come across in my research is that in the long-run, Toyotas in general require less major repairs vs. Hondas.
Anyone have owned both and can chime in?
Now to the price, here are my specs, shopping for...
2017 Rav4 LE
FWD
West Coast 90501
LA County tax is now 8.75%
Using the www.toyota.com "Build" feature, I got
$24,910 = MSRP
$0 = (don't want packages)
$0 = (don't want accessories)
$960 = Delivery, Processing & Handling Fee
__________
$25,870 = Total MSRP as built
What OTD out the door price should I ask for if I want to be aggressive?
Thank you.
Anyone there???
My second concern is the Softex. I'm considering getting the XLE and spending $1,000 at a local place for the Katzkin seats. So the $3k difference between models would really be $2k but I'd have real leather rather than the Softex. I have no experience with the product but I've had leather in my cars and really like it.
Any advice?
Thanks!
Would you be eligible for any of these incentives?

Looking at 2017 Rav4 XLE FWD
From what I am seeing here it looks like I might be able to get
24,700 plus 900 Tags/title/tax = 25,600 OTD
Please help me know if I am high, low or right with my numbers.
PS Just saw above where Accountantq got 25,495 in Texas with twice my tax rate. (6.25% vs 3%)
(That is over $750 more tax)
Makes me think I may ask 25,000 OTD
Definitely possible. We just did a 2017 RAV4 XLE FWD with Convenience Package for 25,900 OTD.
After telling them I felt confident that I could get my price somewhere else if they can't do it, they caved. Will take a few weeks to get car to my dealership but we signed a price agreement.

Asked for no add ons but happens to have Navigation & Lift Power Tailgate.

Just wanted to run my quotes for zip 97124 for Toyota RAV4 Hybrid SE and XLE trims:
1. Toyota SE RAV4 with Advanced tech and navigation:$34,171.00
2. Toyota XLE Hybrid RAV4 base model without advanced tech:28,664;28,332
Should I negotiate further on this offer?
I am a first time car buyer and also undecided on which trim I should go for SE or the XLE? My ideal configuration would have been an SE trim with a premium sound package but without navigation and advanced tech package. But I guess none of the dealers around 97124 have this configuration available. Any inputs would be appreciated.
And, I don't believe they can be combined - must use either one or the other.

WITHOUT 0% FINANCING OFFER:

Toyota Rebate: $2,000.00
Dealership Discount: $3,300.00
e-Price: $22,309.00
WITH 0% FINANCING OFFER:
MSRP: $27,609.00
Toyota Rebate: $500.00
Price Toyota Discount: $3,300.00
e-Price: $23,809.00
Doc fee of $399 has to be added to both offers, but nothing else except title, tax, and tags. I am on the fence and wondering if better offers emerge during the summer season. NY and NJ dealers are nowhere close to the above numbers. Thoughts?
I rather use Toyota financing but am reluctant to lose $1500 of the rebate. My credit score is very high and hopefully can finance at low rate.
MSRP $26185
Dealer Price 23185
Cash Back $2000
Cash Sale Price $21185
Tax (8.75%) $2028
Dealer Fees $80
DMV Fees 299
OTD Price $23593
$5000 off MSRP (including cash back) before tax & doc fees.
Cash back amount may increase in coming holiday sales events.
It is FWD version.
MSRP $26209, Dealer Price 23000 plus tax and fees
I got this from elk grove toyota. They were the cheapest quote I got. Every dealer I asked, will just match the price. So far no one cannot beat it.
22209-1750= 20,459
22700 out the door with rebate.
Advise please. Thanks!
Sean8499,
I'm in Long Island as well and you are right about NY Metro dealers not willing to lower their prices much.
I've been looking as well and in the MD, VA area. I think the prices you got is about right as I'm getting a quote of about $25,000 (2017 LE AWD) out the door (NY Taxes, DMV, Doc Fees all included). I'm taking the $2,000 rebate and getting either dealer bank or my own bank financing.
Is it a fair deal?
