Hi. I'm in Illinois and have been trying to find the best deal on a 2017 Rogue SV AWD. I received a quote this past week for a midnight edition. Here are the numbers for 36/15k. Does this look like a good deal?

    MSRP: 28,745
    Sale price: 25,746
    Dealer Incentives: 800
    MF: .00003
    RV: .57
    Acquisition fee: 595
    Doc fee: 199
    DMV fees: 145
VIN Etching (non negotiable he said but I did get it reduced from sale price): 229
    Sales tax: 7%

Total lease cost is $10,515 which comes out to $292/mo with $0 down. Thoughts? Thanks.

Looks like a good price for a $29K MSRP vehicle.

    Hi all,
I am new and looking for some help.
I am looking at the 2017 Rogue SV with premium package & fog lights. Website shows for $29,225. From my research I have seen that people are buying for around $3K under MSRP. have others experieced that you are able to get vehicle for about $3K under MSRP? I am really looking to lease but know that if I can negotiate the price that helps my lease payments.

What lease pricing range should I shoot for on an 2017 Rogue SV premium package and fog lights.

First time doing a lease so want to have as much information as possible to make sure deal is good.

I am thinking as follows- If I can get car for 26K with a .60 value at end of lease that would make the buyout price around $15,600. That would mean that I pay the difference of $10,400 over 36 months bringing me to $288.88 per month. I will be trading in a very old car so if they give me 1,000-1,500 for it that will cover the taxes and other fees they charge up front.

Thanks for any and all help.

Thank you for assistance. I am going to another dealership today. Really bad experience with the Staten Island Nissan dealership. Very nice and friendly but came to us with a $398 offer with no down payment which is just insane. We said $250 as a low number to try to meet in the middle but they didnt even want to countered and ask us to come up on our price before they would offer another offer. They did not even want to reduce or talk about the car price since we were looking for a lease.

The dealership I am going to today quoted $265 a month lease but I bet that is with like $3K. Time to negotiate, but at least this dealership is already offering the car for $2,300 below msrp. If I can get them to go take $3K off the MSRP i will probably sign tonight.

Keep you all posted what terms I get.

    Update everyone
Went to dealership and was told they couldn't do $250-275 my initial offer to them with nothing down n fees rolled in. We did some back and forth on some money down and settled on $2000 to cover the taxes (8.875% in NY), acquisition fee, DMV and all other fees.  The balance of the 2k as deposit (it's about $500) and got it for $275 a month 36 month 12k.
Total out of pocket to drive away is $2,000 which also covers 1st month payment.

I have not signed yet but I feel good about the deal.

    Any input is appreciated

The RV quoted by the dealer was 56% and using this calculator https://leasehackr.com/calculator/ and with your MF value, MSRP $36375 and final price of $32,886, i was able to get to the $388/mth. I was told to put $448 down which included the first month and the registration.

The 36/12 residual is definitely 57%, so you should ask him to check it. 56% is for 36/15
Make sure he isn't quoting a FWD model (that one is 56% for 36/12)

If I add the $595 acquisition fee, and use the wrong residual ( ;) ), then I get $388/mo, as well.. adding 6% tax.
    $377/mo. using the correct residual

Hello all, first time leaser here:

Looking at leasing a 2017 Rogue SV AWD with the sun/sound and premium package. Dealer's website shows $31,415 for MSRP, but offered at $23,562. I bit, and asked for a quote, was offered $311 a month for 36/15 with $1000 down. That sounded much higher than the calculators I'm using, so I asked and received confirmation that the MF being used for this quote is 0.00003. She also said if we wanted to put $3000 down, we could get the payment down to $249 a month. I'm in Chicago, Illinois.

Where's all the extra capital charge coming from, or what else am I missing? The $23,500 DID seem shockingly low (before I reached out to them, I'd been trying to get a different dealer to bring a base SV down to $23,000 without any extra options and not getting much traction) but I mean, if a dealer is advertising a price, it seems like that should be, at the very least, a legitimate offer. But if I'm really getting this car at $23,562, I would expect a much lower monthly payment, no?

Thank you for any advice or suggestions, and regardless, thanks for all the replies in this forum, you've taught me a lot! (Or so I think, but who knows, maybe my question shows I haven't learned a thing!)

I'd guess that they lied about the $23,562, or there are purchase incentives that aren't valid for a lease.
If you live in the city, you'll pay Illinois sales tax, then an additional monthly lease tax for the city. It adds up to about 17% on the payment.

Ad prices are definitely not offers. The $23,562 could include a lot of rebates that you aren't eligible for. What you are experiencing is typical.

Ok, thanks. Those were the numbers I was using (I was actually being conservative and assuming 57%) but I guess this is just a good learning point about the entire process. Also makes me feel like maybe I've been a jerk to the other dealer, asking them to come down to what apparently are unrealistic prices based on a competing dealership's advertisement!

Thanks for the quick reply and all the other help you provide here!

It happens all the time. I was shopping for a GTI, and a VA dealership was advertising $6000 off MSRP. But, when I asked for a lease quote, it was obvious the price was about $3000 higher than that.

One final question I fear I know the answer to but can't confirm anywhere--my wife and I currently live in Chicago, but will be moving to NC end of July. We've been going back and forth on whether it's worth the price of registering a car twice to have the convenience of having a car when we arrive there, vs not having to pay these Chicago taxes and being crunched for time to buy a car when we arrive in NC. (After living in the city for 9 years we have not owned a car in almost a decade)

What I'm wondering is--the Chicago monthly lease tax that gets tacked on to the payment--that stays on in perpetuity, right? Even once we move? I assume so, meaning I'm trying to decide if the convenience is worth knowing we're paying an extra several percent each month for a city we no longer live in.

To simplify the whole process, I'd suggest you wait until you move before pulling the trigger.

NC sales tax is only 3%, versus the 17% or so between IL and Chicago taxes. And, trying to sort out the change of address and the implications to the lease payment seems to be grief you can avoid by just waiting.

So, in the interests of convenience and a few other factors, we decided to get a Rogue now, instead of waiting until we moved. I'm trying to debrief myself, and I think I've decided I did OK but definitely could have done better. Where I messed up and what I'm wondering is this: I never actually asked what the MF they were charging us was. We have great credit (784), and so I just assumed we'd get the .00003 MF, but in doing my calculations after it looks like we got .0010 instead. Over the life of the lease it's going to cost us about an extra $1000, which I'm not happy about but again, could be worse. (I'm trying to not be too hard on myself)

I think hearing MF in terms of "tiers" made it seem like it was an automatic, non-negotiable thing, whereas now I'm of course reading that you should check and then ask for a better one. Is that correct? And for the future, if I ask what the MF is, do they have to tell me honestly, or can they still tell me one thing and hope I don't actually do the math and discover it's different on my own?

.00003 is for top tier credit, but the dealer can mark it up for extra profit.

Chalk it up to a learning experience; if you decide to lease again when this one is up, you'll know what to look for.

Hello. Thanks for all the help you provide.
Are there numbers out yet for 2017.5 (mid year) SV AWD. I'm in the Chicago suburbs trying to lease for the 1st time since Illinois changed how taxes are charged on leases... Looking for 3rd row option +premium +$960 worth of accessories... MSRP $31535, but HOPE to get 10% off... Lease terms will be 36months/ 12K miles.

    We don't show 2017.5 models, just 2017.
