Thank you. I understand the tax issue. The number here is total including tax, tag and dealer and state fees. Plugged in the numbers (msrp 28680) and 25985 as selling price (including tax and fees so leave those as 0), I got 229/mo with 2000 down. I wonder whether lease incentive (1125) would affect MF, like the 0% financing affecting customer cash?

My guess the offer form the dealer already includes any available lease incentives.

Subtract 1% if FWD

NY taxes the sum of payments, and collects it upfront.
So, add up your pre-tax monthly payments, plus any amounts paid upfront, and multiply by the tax rate.
Take that amount, add it back into the CAP cost, then re-calculate for the after-tax payment.

Just to report back. We leased a Rogue SV FWD pearl white with premium package, 36mo/12K, $1000 down (including 1st month, paid with a trade in), $285/mo. This was bought in GA, but will be registered in TX (very low supply here due to Harvey), and includes all local tax and tag fees (~$1650). I am sure I could have done better, if I didn't insist on a tan interior one. Every dealership around me only has one or no such car available, but at least 20 dark interior cars in stock. Thank you for the info.

OK, spoke again with the dealer and he admitted to making an "error." We seem to have agreed to this deal:

MSRP: $29,050
Sales price: $25,904
Drive off: $2,500 (includes 1st month, acquisition fee)
Monthly: $283 (including tax at 7.75%)

Note, I was told that the residual value on the SV on a 36/15 was 54%, not 55%. Using leasehackr, I get roughly the same payment he came up with using the 54% residual.
