Went to dealer today - Nassau County, NY ( zip 11793) looking for a 2017 Ford Edge SE (AWD), 36mths/12k.
Dealer said APR is 0.5 and residual is 50%. I'm looking to trade in my Ford Focus which is valued on KBB at $7,000. Dealer said there is a $3,500 rebate, and there might be a $500 student rebate as well.
A. Are the values they're giving me correct?
B. What should my monthly payments be?
C. What would the monthly payments be with tax rolled in?

I was impressed with my friends loaded Sel 2017 Ford Edge he just bought . His model has the 2.0T. He's complaining that around town mpg is 15/16. Turbo is somewhat sluggish off the line.
Check out Dana Ford they have 20 acres of stock on there lot . NY doc fee's are capped at only $75 dollars
Bell ford in NJ is a good solid dealership they also own Audi. but might not be able to compete with a Dana or Schwartz in NY. Another dealer in NJ I recommend is All- American Ford in Old bridge, NJ big stock on Edges. You need to counter there $349 doc fee when negotiating vehicle pricing ...........
Friends deal on May 31st, was 1k below invoice plus roughly $4750 is lease incentives $$.
Ford has a 1k Incentive for all non ford leases in your name

I explained I wanted to wrap tax into lease payment (Nassau County, NY). The only thing I'm willing to pay at drive off is first month and DMV/plates. I believe I should have also received $3k Ford Cash, $1k Ford bonus cash, $500 1st responder discount and $100 Amex Discount but it's not clearly outlined in the disclosure documents:

$421.97 monthly lease payment
Due at drive off 421.97 + 97 DMV fee + license plates.

On may, 31st, I negotiated my friends 2017 Sel, 3/12k lease. The msrp was $41,450 with 4500 in lease cash. 1k below the sel models invoice plus mentioned lease cash . His payment I think but got to confirm is $330 a month . He paid about 2k out of pocket for 1st month, taxes, and dmv fee's . ( every 1k saved or out of pocket paid is close to $30 more/ less a month ) @michaell should be able to help you with your above breakdown.
You should be targeting 1500 to 2k below this models invoice for this time of the year.. I got 1k below invoice in may. Dana ford was offering 1300 below invoice in may ( but not the model, color, option we wanted ) . Try to negotiate a lower sale price if u want more savings. Call Schultz Ford , Bell, or Dana Ford . Thanks Brian....i've emailed 10 dealers and no one will beat that deal. When I calculate the lease cost per 10,000 worth of vehicle (as recommended by realcartips.com) it comes out to $101.81. They say anything below $117 per 10k is a good deal. Should I be more focused on getting dealer down from invoice or should i take the deal since no one else will even match it. I have 2 days before end of month. Is waiting till the 30th of this month best? Thoughts/suggestions much appreciated.

If no dealers will budge then this is your best deal in Sept buy it. I'd wait till the 30th thou.
I would call each dealer tomm and say I buy from your dealership today holding with CC card but need a additional 800 / 1000 off this deal . The dealer response's are Yes or No, maybe a counter offer . Tell all dealers give me your final offer to earn my business . then move on to next dealer. tell all counter offers u will decide by the end of the day but u are looking for x price. This is how u negotiate when looking for dealers lowest price at months end .

When buying I always work on negotiating the lowest sale price 1st. Remember whether your buying or leasing nailing down the lowest price 1st, that is key. Everything else don't matter. Incentives regardless of a buy/ lease you will get .
My advice for future buys . After car homework/ desired targeted dealers are done use email blasts to dealerships. Here is one change to do ... Always use the last week of any month and NOT before to send out as many emails / calls to dealerships Internet mgrs. A quick simple email / call stating your ready to buy and X price plus incentives gets deal done today. Pit all dealers bidding for your business against each other till you get the lowest price or meet your target price. Always Buy last 2 days, last day of any month. End of the month is when u have the most leverage with dealers especially if they need sale quotas.
