If I subtract 8% from MSRP, I get a payment of $726/mo. Need to know the cap cost you and the dealer are using, and how you arrive at that number from the selling price, to get a full picture of what's going on.

Thanks for your response. I don’t have their work sheet so far. I am attaching what I used to come up with 821/861 for 6% and 8% respectively. 

I would appreciate it if you can tell me what you think the payment should be with 6% off (sign and drive); and Point out if I am making an error (probably am) on my worksheets. 

My XL sheet is based on the edmunds lease calculator.

I agree with the math on those worksheets.

NY taxes the sum of the payments and collects it up front; if you choose to roll the taxes into the payment, the calculations are off by a little bit (about $5/mo), as the taxes would be subject to interest. Most on-line lease calculators don't account for that.

Thanks you very much for taking a look. I made my lease calculator in XL from all the information/knowledge from this forum. I still have 4 payments on the A6 left and they are willing to pick up 3 (pull ahead program from Audi), plus there won’t be any lease disposition fee. In no hurry so let’s see if some dealer is willing to sell a car.

The SB Sportback is quite popular, so don't expect to see any sale pricing anytime soon.

You may think you've got a lower payment, but the total cost of the lease is the same.

And, if the car is stolen or totaled, that $5K is gone.

In in my experience unless they are real jerks, most dealers are willing to do invoice on this now, once they realize, that you know what you are taking about.

Thanks, I'm new to leasing, general question. Is it safe to assume residules drop later in the model year, before the release of the new year model? As you are basically buying an almost year old car already.

Generally, residuals drop as the model year progresses.

But, money factors can drop, and incentives can increase.. so, it doesn't necessarily mean the vehicle's payment will go up.
