Ok following up from the 2017 thread for Euro Delivery lease on an SDrive28i with $38050 US MSRP, 36 months, 10k miles.

As for sales tax, my residence is in 9% town in Bay Area but the dealer who quoted $944 inception and $514.06 monthly including tax is in a 9.25% jurisdiction.

Ask them for the sale price and adjusted CAP cost. Otherwise, just a lot of guessing.

OK, he's telling me I have to sign lease 45 days before my Munich pick up date, which would mean signing now.

That's different than what other dealers and other people who've gone through the ED program are saying so looks like he doesn't want to deal.

Here's another offer, $885 at inception, $528 with CA taxes. CAP cost is $33,750, 59% residual and MF of .00181.

Ok one more. He's giving me $650 over the ED invoice of 31,925 including destination or a total of 32,575.

He's saying 492 includes tax with 830 at inception.

A little lower but not a lot lower.

What else would they be rolling in to be so much higher on monthly payments, maybe marking up the MF?

$925 acquisition fee for starters. Ask for the adjusted CAP cost, and an accounting of how they got there from the sale price.

Hello Folks- I'm looking to lease a 2018 X1 MSRP: $40,345 discounted by $3,757 , with a loyalty rebate of $1,500. (Photo attached) I have a lot of negative equity from a trade that still needs to be negotiated, but can you pls tell me if this is a good deal for the x1? They are asking $632/month for 36/12K miles. ( That includes -$4,266 equity or $118.5/month) I'm in Boston MA. thanks!!!

Your quote is incomplete.. MA taxes the monthly payment, and there is no mention of the $925 acquisition fee.

But, if I add "CAP cost" + $925 acquisition fee + $4266 negative equity, then subtract $350 CAP reduction from the $1500 (after paying fees and 1st payment), I get $600+tax. That's about $637/mo. with 6.25% sales tax.

Within $5/mo. of your quote.

Why trade out of a car that has that much negative equity? And, the cost is more than $118.50 per month. You have finance charges and sales tax.. It's more like $133/mo, once you add everything.

No.. no way out of the acquisition fee. That's a typical lease quote, that's a little short on information.

I'm guessing your numbers are different because you haven't subtracted the $750 from the calculated residual. For the demo miles, .25 per is the adjustment rate.

That's a darn good payment on an almost $40K rig, though we'd suggest you restructure the deal to only pay the first payment and DMV costs at signing - roll the taxes and fees into the cap cost and monthly payment.

for a 36/15k, trade in value $4500+500 corporate lease incentive. 2018 X1 xdrive28i convenience pkg+nav+sport seats, confused because the vehicle design sheet we were given shows a line for heated steering wheel and a line for heated front seats at a MSRP of $0, however towards the end theres another line stating "heated front seats and steering wheel" with a MSRP $550..? Looking for advice about moving forward. Thank you in advance

The heated seats/steering wheel are probably listed as the Cold Weather Package. That's the $550, and why the individual options are $0 (because already paid for in the package).

What you need is a real lease quote that only includes the numbers that are valid for a lease.
No lumping together of fees, either. Everything itemized.
Only the sales tax numbers that are valid for a lease.
Adjusted CAP cost money factor, as well. Ask them to send you a screenshot of the deal from the F&I computer.

Also, I wouldn't put $4500 upfront on a lease. Ask them for a quote that has you paying first payment and DMV fees only at signing. They can deduct that from the $4500 and cut you a check for the rest.

Thank you!!! I haven’t asked for that quite yet but was sent another email- which again Doesnt show me everything I asked for. I’ll inquire specifically with your advice and see where that gets me. Also I with some research I found that the max doc fee for my state is $75, but they’re charging me $100?

That's a great breakdown of the fees, and matches what they listed above.
Let's assume the tax listed is the tax on the rebates, acquisition/doc fees and the CAP cost reduction from your $4500.

So, the payment will be taxed monthly, as well.
Using their balance number as the adjusted CAP cost, I get $358/mo.+tax
If tax is 7% (just guessing), then the payment would be $383/mo. That's pretty close to $389 quote, and could be that the first payment is rolled in, as well, which would make it just about right.

Doubtful they are charging $100 fee, if the state max is $75.

So, I'm getting the numbers to work.

But, let's just do it with $1000 upfront, instead of $4500.
$499/mo., with a check for $3500 coming back to you from the equity in your trade-in. No cash out of pocket.

Money factor is marked up from .00152. That is adding $12/mo.
See if you can get them to give you the base rate..

They might not... that's a big discount from MSRP, already.

I went to the dealer and got this quote this morning, I told the sales person that I wanted to pay upfront only first month and registration fees. He told me he applied the 2k discount and maybe he could take a little bit more off the price.
Do the numbers look right and how much negotiating room do I have in your opinion?
