Also, if I am trying to deal on a loaner, what rate should i subtract the mileage from RV at, same $0.25 per mile?

We've heard conflicting reports on residual reduction for loaners. Best to just ask the dealer.

Hi. Can you please give me current rates for residual and mf on a 2018 E Class Cabriolet for 7,500 and 10,000 36 month leases? I have been quoted $1132 month w/ $5K at signing with a selling price of 74.4 on a msrp of 76.2. This seems a bit high. Looks like most of the buying services are saying that a "fair deal" is around $4K off sticker. Not getting close to that with any dealer on a first visit. Really amazing vehicle. Any advise?

Ask the dealer what cap cost they are using for their price quote, and how they got there from the selling price.

The explanation is so they "make money" on the "back end" based on the risk that the RV is too high after the lease ends. I have never heard of that and I told them I had to look into it. They get their margin on the cost, not also on adding to the finance cost, right?

It's not unusual, but that's more than "a point". It's equivalent to marking up an APR by 2.4%. It's a huge markup. For instance, BMW allows their dealers to markup the money factor by .00040 maximum (that's "a point").

Just tell them you aren't paying a markup to the financing, and they should quote you selling prices and lease quotes using the base rate.

39 months is somewhere between those two, but not necessarily exactly between.

Thx for the quick reply. I can confirm that for 12k @ 39mo the residual is 56% as per a MB lease workup sheet. I don't know why they're quoting 39mo, seems like 36 mo is advantageous.

1) Is the residual and MF the same between AWD and RWD?
2) Can you pls confirm the MF and Residual for a E400 AWD/RWD- 36mo/12k in NY. Thx again!
