    Hello, I'm looking for MF, RV, and incentives in DC/MD/VA -- (will be titling in DC, but all the dealers are in MD/VA - not sure how this plays into it? Thanks!

    You'll pay sales tax in DC. VA dealers tend to have bigger dealer fees, though they can make up for that in price. MD dealer fees tend to be around $300.

    Sorry for not specifying earlier, but how much of a difference is there in residual for 10k/12k?

  • 1st time leasing and feel like they are trying to screw me. I have a trade in for 6661 but still owe 1800. Feel like they barely came off M.s.r.p. 61880. This is for 340i 12k/36

    Yeah, you want to target 7% off sticker, before incentives.

    And, don't use trade equity to buy down the payment. That just masks the true cost of the lease, and that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

  • So what should my text be ? Also shouldn't they lower to .000152? Thank you for your help. Should I say take my trade out and see the numbers? I feel my Payment should be little less 650..
  • Also I'm in the military.

    Politely tell them you won't sign any deal where the MF has been marked up.

    Yes, have them give you a quote excluding the trade.

    I'm not aware of any incentives from BMW for active duty personnel.

    .00152 MF and 58% residual. (more like 55.7% after accounting for mileage)
    If I add the $925 acquisition fee, then subtract the $1000 rebate, and the extra $3000 they are asking from you, I get about $525/mo, which isn't far off of their quote.

    It's a pretty good deal, given the lease program, but it's closer to $615/mo, with just the first payment due at signing. Texas sales taxes aren't advantageous to leases, but not much you can do about that.

    Sorry, no idea where Edmunds gets their numbers.

    But, incentives can be regional.. so, maybe more where you are located.

  • Great thread and thanks to all your help guys.

    What is the difference between lease credit, dealer discount and rebate ? I see these terms everywhere. which ones are used to lower down "adjust cap cost/final selling price" which affects the monthly payment. Also, which of these 3 (ease credit, dealer discount and rebate) has tax applied ?

    do you know March MF and RV numbers for 330i 36/10? and lease credit numbers for 2017 and 2018 ?

    Lease credit and rebate are the same thing, but one is for a lease, the other for a purchase. Both are taxable.

    The dealer discount is just that - the discount you negotiate off the factory sticker price.

    Thank you so much. I am thinking of going to dealership today to see if I can get better lease credit for 2017 330i if they have any left. As I have heard that there may not be any more lease credits in March and going forward.

    Should I try 10% off sticker price for 2017 and 7% off of 2018 to start with and then apply lease credit on top of that ?
  • Also, I was reading this post to understand all aspects of lease: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1084623

    Couple points I didn't know.

    1) Are disposition fee mandatory ? do most dealer charge it $300 or so ?

    2) Acura (last car I had lease) had $1500 worth of collision coverage when I return. Do BMW have this ?

    3) It says "Tires need to be replaced before end of the lease". Is that mandatory by BMW ? that would be an extra cost for us right ?

    4) BMWFS will refunded purchased miles you do not use, but they don't specify how much you are refunded. Is that true ?

    I assume following calculation is still correct ?

    If the residual value is "R" ; R = MSRP x Residual (%)
    The Capital cost (sales price) is "C"
    Money Factor is "MF"
    Down payment is "D"
    Lease term is "N" ; number of months (ie 36 or 39)
    Monthly depreciation fee "MD" = (C-D-R)/N
    Monthly lease fee "ML" = MF * ([C-D]+R)
    Then the monthly lease payment= MD +ML + tax
    Drive off : The upfront money including all other fees ( bank fee , acquisition fee, license fee, etc) + first month payment

    For example.
    MSRP =100k
    Capital cost (sales price after 10k discount) = 90k
    MF = 0.0013
    Residual = 60% = 60k
    lease term = 36 months
    Down payment = 0
    other fees = 2K
    tax = 8%

    MD = 30k/36 = 833.3
    ML = 195
    tax = %8 * (833.3 + 195) =82.2
    monthly lease payment = 833.3 + 195 + 82.2 = 1110.5

    Drive off = 2000 +1110.5 = 3110.5

    1) Disposition fee is charged by the leasing bank (BMWFS)
    It's non-negotiable, but you pay at lease end.

    2) No

    3) Only if they are worn, below spec

    4) Only if you have purchased additional miles, beyond 15K/yr. If your lease is for 15K/yr or less, this will not apply.

    Your calculations in the example are correct.

  • So lock in this month's incentives or gamble for March on a 340xi? Thoughts. I was able to get better quote from another dealer but they think I should lock in. Also is there any way to know if X3 m40 have a better lease incentive for March. I really want the X3 if they could offer money back. So the payment is not 800 plus a month.

    No insights as to what may happen to the numbers, next month.

    The MF has held steady for several months, now.

    In general, the residual drops as the model year progresses, but lease cash is often made available to offset that.

    Whatever happens, I doubt that it will have a major effect on the overall lease payment.

    Hello, I am starting to price out 320xi leases
    15,000 mile allotted per year - 3 yrs.
    Are these numbers in line? They seem like they are taking the invoice price rather than the Agreed upon pricing.

    2018 320xi Sedan – Retired Courtesy Vehicle – Stock #15669R - 4,200 miles.

    $41,835 – MSRP
    $39,615 – Dealer Invoice (Cost)
    $34,441 – Your Net Sale/Lease Price

    36 Months – Lease Term
    15,000 Miles – Annual Allotment
    $800.00 – Total Due at Lease Inception(incl. 1st Month Payment)
    $485.05 – Total Monthly Payment (incl. 6.75% Sales Tax)

    2018 320xi Sedan – New Vehicle Locate

    $42,430 – MSRP
    $40,190 – Dealer Invoice (Cost)
    $37,600 – Your Net Sale/Lease Price

    36 Months – Lease Term
    15,000 Miles – Annual Allotment
    $800.00 – Total Due at Lease Inception(incl. 1st Month Payment)
    $550.18 – Total Monthly Payment (incl. 6.75% Sales Tax)

    Thank you in advance, this thread has been supper helpful.

    This is for Ohio
    Adding tax and acquisition fee to your sale price, both deals are about $30/mo. too high, using the base money factor. It appears they are marking up the money factor by the maximum amount, to .00192.

    Acquisition fee = $925
    Tax = $1050/$1175 approx on the two deals.

    Did you get a good deal? Be sure to come back and share!

    That couldn't have been a BMWFS lease, then; they only allow a max .00040 markup to the MF.
