Greed is the other way to look at it.

Tell them you want the base rate, or you'll find a dealer more willing to give it to you.

I couldn't agree more apparently they think people won't do their research and will just blindly pay for something. I was also looking at the Tahoe and their MF numbers are crazy as well so I am leaning more towards Ford.
