Thanks a lot for the details. I was shopping for lease deal today. The mf i was offered was 0.00199 for the SQ5 Premium Plus (MSRP 65000). They also offered and SQ5 prestige at MF 0.00229 (MSRP 70000). I am sure why the MF was different on both the models and a lot higher than 0.00166. Both had a residual of 60%. The dealer was telling me that thats the best he can do on the MF for the best credit. However he has room to adjust the sale price on the prestige 10% on sale price before adding incentives.

Any ideas on the MF? why is it higher than normal

The base money factor is the same on both trims.
But, the residual is 1% lower for Prestige, and they can't change that.
If you add AudiCare, the residual goes up by 1%

Why is the money factor higher? To put more money in the dealer's pocket. I guess you can figure out where that money is coming from.

They seem to be throwing a lot of numbers at you, in an attempt to confuse you.

I'm within a penny of that quote, once I adjusted the residual for the mileage.

This quote is with $5371 out of pocket? I'd ask the dealer to restructure the quote with only the first payment, taxes and registration costs paid up front.

Those are your calculations, or an actual dealer quote?

You can structure the deal any way you want. More up front cash results in a lower payment, but the up front cash is at risk if the car is stolen or totaled.

The down payment ($4300 including 1st payment) is from an earlier quote in the day, but I don't plan to put down more than first payment, fees, and may be taxes (my calculation shows around $3500-3600 total with first payment/fees/taxes). Maryland vehicle tax is 6% on the difference between new car and trade-in.

Based on this information, can you please advise what your calculations show and if this looks like a strong deal? Thanks very much!

I'd restructure the deal to only pay the first payment and government fees up front, only.

i found out today that if you have an Audi being turned back from lease that was scheduled or has a recall for the airbag you can get another 1K in rebates. Not sure if it applies if you have one in and not turning it in. Just thought i would share
